Solving with innovators in the United States
Solve’s focus on the world’s most pressing challenges has always included those within the United States. Since 2018, we have supported solutions focused on fairness and progress that can be directed by underserved communities themselves. This portfolio, now in its seventh year, started with the Indigenous Communities Fellowship in 2018. In 2022, Solve introduced the Black & Brown Communities in the US Program to identify innovators working to address racial discrimination across all our Global Challenges and help facilitate greater access to opportunity and capital.
With these programs, we aim to create a space for collaboration and dialogue among culturally diverse innovators, while building a community that learns from and supports these innovators as part of their own work.
Black & Brown Communities Program
In recognition of racial disparities among US communities, we have built a specific set of work focused on fairness and progress for underserved communities in the United States. Each year, Solve selects solutions from across our Global Challenges that are focused on driving positive impact in these communities to be a part of our Black & Brown Communities in the US Program. Solvers selected for this special program receive culturally responsive resources and support on top of the nine-month Solver support program.
