Pound Paws
Pound Paws presents 'Dog Day', a community place-making initiative to help raise awareness about pet adoption & build a strong sense of community within different areas of Australia.
This event is hosted to not only assist rescue groups & pounds with the overall re-homing process of their pets, but to connect pet owners with vital pet services like micro-chipping / free vet-checks, as well as provide a sense of joy for all attendees.
Did you know that dogs have proven to reduce symptoms of anxiety & depression? This event will not only guarantee tail wags, but will provide smiles for the humans too!
Over 200,000 happy and healthy pets are euthanised per year in Australia, this statistic is shocking and can be reduced significantly. Pound Paws aim is to visit communities all over Australia and host Dog Adoption events, to not only educate and inspire attendees to adopt instead of shop when it comes to getting their next pet, but to assist rescue shelters with finding homes for their pets.
It is proven that pets can reduce symptoms of depression & anxiety, it would be very rewarding to match pets with humans, to not only re-home the pet but provide on-going support & comfort for the human too.
We will be working directly with rescue groups and shelters, by actively hosting dog adoption events including their pets available for adoption.
We will be serving the community, by bring rescue pets to them (as a lot of shelters are located far away).
We will also be providing free vet checks, free micro-chipping and lots of other vital per services to pet owners, ensuring that their pets are cared for, thus reducing the risk of them ending up in the pound.
Our solution is to host dog adoption events all over Australia and to tap into different communities to educate them about the importance of pet adoption & responsible pet ownership. We believe education is vital, in making a difference in the amount of pets that end up in pounds each year. If we can encourage the public to adopt instead of shop when it comes to getting their next pet, as well as implement responsible pet ownership, then we can significantly reduce the number of pets on death row.
We will provide free vet checks, free micro-chipping and lots of other vital per services to pet owners, ensuring that their pets are cared for, thus reducing the risk of them ending up in the pound.
We will also have pets available for adoption at these dog day events, which will help the rescue shelters & pounds directly.
- Enable equitable access to affordable and effective health services
- Scale
Pound Paws Dog Day events are a unique approach to the overall re-homing process, as we are actively visiting different communities and bringing rescue dogs to the locals! We also provide an additional service, where we operate an online search engine which allows users to find their dream pet online, by searching for teams; age, breed, size, sex and lifestyle match. We want to ensure the overall adoption process is as easy as possible.
The core technology that our charity operates is our online search engine, this is vital for our users, as it allows them to fast track the overall adoption process. We do believe that with the right funding & resources we could improve the overall online approach to the re-homing process. However, we do not have enough funds for our website to further develop. As a result, we are actively hosting dog adoption events around Australia to help bring rescue pets to local communities & further assist with pet adoptions to the best of our ability.
Our online search engines aim is to fast track the overall adoption process. We would like assistance to further support our mission to continue to connect potential pet owners with pets in pounds and rescue centres across Australia. We would appreciate any assistance with this.
We assist over 40 rescue centres & pounds in Australia.
We would like to expand and continue to host dog adoption events each month all over Australia.
We would like to list every single rescue shelter and pound on our Rescue Directory (www.poundpaws.com.au) and provide them all with complimentary photography and videography to further promote them.
We would like a website which tracks each pet adoption, as well as provides a great user experience for those who are looking for their dream pet.If we can make pet adoption as simple / accessible as possible to the public, then we can continue to work towards no pets getting euthanised per year!
Financial support - I am currently operating this charity all by myself and I really need help to scale it to the level where I can help out rescue shelters & pounds all over Australia. I am unable to afford a website which can provide this service.
Technical support - I have tried to self teach myself how to code, however the process is long & not something that is easy. It would mean the world to me, to employ someone who can do this for the charity & create a great user-experience website.
Through financial support.

Because I am passionate about what I do, this is shown through my time I have put towards the charity (working voluntarily), as well as the high level results of what I have achieved by running this charity on my own. I put everything into this, because I want to make a difference for the animals.
We work with a variety of rescue groups and pounds which are displayed on our website. We list their pets available for adoption on our website, host adoption events for them + help them with PR / Marketing opportunities to further raise awareness about their rescue pets.
Our Dog Adoption events bring together communities around Australia. We provide a unique style event, which not only educates and encourages people to adopt instead of shop when it comes to getting their next pet, but it brings together the local community and supports local businesses.
Grants which align with our values.
Dog adoption events.
Because we are passionate about what we do, but feel we need support to further our work.
