Well and Fit is a healthy food and nutrition social-media-commerce. Our solution for brain health is to help people improve their fitness and wellbeing by offering high quality, nutritious and selective food and nutrition products. We also want to offer wasted food and nutritional products to underpreviledged.
Our solution Well and Fit is a social-media-commerce platform that offers high quality food/nutritional products as well as content that focuses on healthy living, fitness, wellness and more. It also offers food products and donations to the underpreviledged. It will start on Wechat, then the website and possibly an app in the future.
Our solution will not fundamentally solve the mental health issues in China, but it builds a support system for people who live a high stress and fast faced life. By eating healthier, exercise more often and receiving support through friends, the community and social media, people are likely to think and act more positively and that’s very important to improving mental health. It will be a lifestyle change.
But change doesn’t happen overnight. It has to happen in a smaller scale first, and slowly. If the more well educated and financially stable middle/upper class find our solution helpful, they are likely to spread it through their powerful networks and social media. There will likely be a change in the workplace. The companies that they own, invest or work for will be more aware of the mental health situation and be more willing to spend money and resources to tackle the issues. This applies to people and organizations all over the world, even in the developed countries but especially in developing countries such as India, Brazil, Russian, Indonesia and others.
Hundreds and thousands of Chinese people face mental health issues, yet there are very limited sources and help they can access to seek help. Also Chinese people tend to be very private when it comes to mental health. In recent years, the middle and upper class, who are more educated and more financially stable, start to pay more attention to their wellbeing. However, there are not many available solutions/tools/channels out there.
Many factors can cause stress, depression, and other mental health issues, what makes the problem worse in this case is that most of the middle and upper class Chinese people today live a fast paced and high stressed life that cannot be easily amended. Our solution is to help people reduce stress and depression by encouraging them to eat healthier, exercise more, and build support system. Our product may not be the fundamental solution to their mental issue, but it will help improve the situation and offer them knowledge and advice they need to eventually solve the issues.
The impact of our solution might be a difficult to be measured in the early stages, as mental health itself is very unpredictable and hard to measure. However, by adapting the solution ,the individuals will be likely to think more positively, work more effecient, and live healthier. The change will begin with the middle/upper class who are in age between 27-37 (the 80's) It will be deployed to them through our community, social media, friends and networks.

At the current stage in China, people either don't admit they have mental health issues, or those who are identified are treated through medical procedures. I believe that proper fitness and nutrition can really help change people's mood, emotion and more. we will take advantage of big data, social media, as well as mobile hardware and software. In China, we will begin with Wechat, then build our own website and mobile apps to customize more functions, and eventually use the data we collect to better understand our customers and offer them tailored solutions.
By adapting various technology, we are building a social-media-commerce platform that accumulates resources in food/nutrition, fitness and wellness communities. With the help of social media, this community can spread not only content but also powerful belief and philosophy. Through the platform, we also want to offer resources that are not needed by many to those who are underserved. We want to give to those who are really in need, and we will encourage the middle and upper class to pay more attention to those who they could easily ignore. Without technology, none of it will come true.
In China today, more than half of the entire population is online and use wechat, thats where we will start. Our content will be completely free, and our products such as healthy food and nutritional supplements will be at affordable prices, and most important, they are high quality and safe. How do we do that? we plan to begin with online retail but eventually get to distribution and manufacturing. It will be a long process but we are determined to work toward that direction.

We are setting up an online shop, planning to offer customized advice/counseling on nutrition and fitness, as well as advertising on our platform to realize profits. However, we need larger fund to really grow and scale the solution, and will possibly seek funding from investors who share similar vision and value as Well and Fit team.

Four years ago I wrote a business plan about healthy food distribution. In the past four years, giving up opportunities to work in big companies, I worked in a small healthy food retail shop and a fitness and health media company. This is not just a job but my passion. I don't think my solution is necessarily innovative, yet no one has succeeded doing it. I wish is simple: to help more people eat right, live well and stay fit. And I really hope Solve can help me to realize that through its resources, community and more.
