Empowering youth for a lifetime of joint health
We do not educate youth about joint health. We do not teach children and youth in schools about the benefits of bodily routines and knowledge that can give them a lifetime of joint health. As a sports medicine doctor of orthopedic surgery who stopped operating to make a bigger impact to those with joint pain, I focus on empowering and motivating people to become aware of how to understand and care for their joints; allowing them to continue desirous activities without pain. The problem of poor joint health in the world shows up in high medical costs, increasing childhood obesity, rocketing Opioid addiction, and corporate payouts to employees who end up on disability. I propose that the solution to this problem is to educate our global youth about joint health, and to create a community of awareness from parents, to teachers, to coaches, so our youth can thrive and live a lifetime of health with less joint pain and dysfunction.
Musculoskeletal conditions cost the USA about $1.75 Trillion annually, and there are over 1.7 Billion people in the world suffering from painful or disabling MSK conditions.
My concern is, if we do not begin to teach our youth joint health at an early age, we will perpetuate society’s current problems of addiction and Opiate use, the obesity epidemic, spending about a billion corporate dollars a week on musculoskeletal health on behalf of their employees, and the escalating cost of health and medical care. Joint pain leads to depression, lost productivity and laziness (a sedentary lifestyle), among other things. When people are healthy they contribute more to the world, and give more back. It is urgent we empower people to be motivated to care for their own joints, to train the youth of the world, and to spread the knowledge of joint health to our communities. The time is now for all of us to become advocates for joint health, so we can all lead active, more productive, happier, and healthier lives.
We serve the youth of the world, from fourth grade onward (9 years old) through college. We understand the incredible importance of understanding your body and specifically the musculoskeletal system. We create comprehension and implementation of a preventive orthopedic lifestyle. We build strong routines that will stay with people for a lifetime of joint health. Nobody needs or deserves chronic pain, and we serve those to help them avoid the onset of chronic pain through education, empowerment and healthy routines.
I want to create an online joint health community that will inspire all people with joints that taking control of their own joint health is preferred, attainable, and worthwhile. The future of our country is in our youth, and I hope to give people the awareness that by empowering our kids with healthy habits, and giving them an early understanding of their bodies and joints to foster healthy routines, they will have brighter futures and the ability to lead active, productive, and happier lives, with less pain. This web-based platform of joint-health activities and appropriate joint-specific exercises, coupled with in-person multimedia presentations and symposia will be delivered by local healthcare providers and joint health experts around the world. They will share their joint knowledge and expertise, giving back to their local communities and helping those with joints.

We do not educate our youth about joint health. We do not teach our children and youth in schools about the benefits of bodily routines and knowledge that can give them a lifetime of joint health. As a retired sports medicine doctor of orthopedic surgery, I focus on empowering and motivating people to become aware of how to understand and care for their joints that allows for them to continue desirous activities without pain. The problem of poor joint health in society shows up in high medical costs, increasing childhood obesity, rocketing Opioid addiction, and corporate payouts to employees who end up on disability. I propose that the solution to this problem is to utilize an online community and technology platform to raise awareness from parents, to teachers to coaches, so our youth (and all those with joints) can thrive and live a lifetime of health.
We use the internet to create the first online joint-health community. Within this community there is access to education and a community of people sharing their joint-related experiences through an interactive social forum. Professionals will promote their tips and suggestions for joint (and bodily) health through an interactive blog or article section. There is a vast and comprehensive controlled-exercise database involving all joints (SaaS business model). These exercises work to achieve joint-health goals of motion, tone, strength, endurance, condition and flexibility. As a web-based tool and resource for professionals and for the everyday person, this community will help raise joint health awareness and will keep people motivated, engaged, active, productive, and living with less (joint) pain. The youth of the world will be educated by local healthcare and joint professionals using the age-appropriate multimedia presentations created within the community.

Education is empowering. Knowledge leads to a positive change in behavior. Accountability fosters survival and self-reliance. Motivation leads to increased productivity. The lack of joint pain leads to more happiness.
The exercise groupings have been shown empirically to increase joint function and to diminish joint pain. The joint-health community engages people and empowers them to succeed at their joint health efforts. The platform uses easy-to-follow, controlled exercise groupings created by a Board Certified orthopedic surgeon and doctorate of physical therapy.
There are about 1.7 billion people suffering from joint pain and dysfunction worldwide, with about 5.8 billion more at risk of developing joint pain and dysfunction. My solution would have a tremendous impact on the people suffering from joint pain and dysfunction. The educational aspects and the web-based joint-health activity and controlled, easy-to-follow and perform, effective joint-specific exercises will help people have less pain and live a productive and active lifestyle.

People with joints will get out of it what they put in. The community will serve and allow access to better joint health and less joint pain through adoption and practice of a lifestyle of preventive orthopedics. At this point there are about 350 members. There has been no planned marketing efforts to this point. After commencement of the marketing plan, within the next 3 months, our community will grow to over 2000 in one year. In five years the number will be well above 100,000. It is easily scalable and global, such that these numbers could be much, much larger in a short time.
Those who use the software platform feel better and have less pain. Whether it is post-operative patients, those with joint pain, or athletes looking to stay on the top of their game, these exercises get back to basics and are effective.
An effective healthcare technology startup such as this needs capital in order to successfully execute the sales and marketing plans. These plans are nearly-failsafe: comprehensive, unique and versatile. Within the next year, after completion of an amended executive business plan and investor Deck, we will be able to grow the community incrementally and have an impact on millions of lives.
At this point it is primarily financial. The second obstacle is meeting the right people in one of 14 identified markets (or just focusing on one and meeting those in that sector) and securing meetings and presentations of the concept to them. The third is from an operational standpoint: helping these facilities, systems, companies, countries, and educational facilities implement specific components of the lifestyle. Translation of the content on the website and multimedia presentations will expand our reach, but is contingent on strategic partnership and investment.
Once the business plan, executive summary and investor deck are optimized, the company is striving to meet the right investors who share in the vision and have the influence, capital and network to get this concept and practice into the mainstream.

No full-time staff.
All are contractors. I have small outsourced team that are in charge of the website, networking, managing the project, creating content, and manages the finances.
I am an expert in joints as a Board certified orthopedic surgeon, practicing for over 15 years, and an athlete who has been a patient (ACL reconstruction, shoulder reconstruction, thumb ligament surgery). I am an international speaker and published author. I have been on both sides of the equation and deliver a practical, powerful, and valuable message that will resonate well with all people with joints. The company teamed up with a renowned doctorate of physical therapy, and certified hand therapy to create the exercise database. The web developer has created a unique, versatile, safe and scalable software platform and program that has tremendous growth potential. The project manager has a keen sense of the English language and is a successful strategist and manager.
We have begun fledgling relationships with hospitals, eldercare companies, assisted living communities, physical therapy practices, boutique fitness facilities, non-profit charter/for profit high schools and elementary schools, corporate wellness companies and partners with products currently in the health space.
The business revolves around building a community. The members of the community will have less joint pain and be more knowledgeable of their joints and live a happier life with less disability. Without this, we will perpetuate society’s current problems of obesity, addiction and Opiate use, spending billions of corporate dollars a week on musculoskeletal health on behalf of their employees, and escalating the cost of health and medical care.
Joint pain leads to depression, lost productivity and laziness (a sedentary lifestyle), but when people are healthy they contribute more to the world, and give more back. It is urgent we empower all people to be motivated to care for their own joints, to train our youth, and to spread the knowledge of joint health to our communities.
The SaaS platform, MMP licensing, speaking, book sales, and the financial benefits of running an online community will provide adequate revenue. The novel social forum will bring individuals together to talk about and share their joint health (pain) experiences, ultimately raising joint health awareness and creating a powerful and useful community. The tips and suggestions published by professional members to the blog section will increase the understanding of joints, facilitate communication and expedite community growth.
Our concept and plan involves the use of profit and non-profit corporations. We plan on gaining financial sustainability through several pathways. Raising investment capital is the pathway to initial marketing and sales success. From there, the non-profit will apply for funding for grants. A successful online community has several revenue streams for financial sustainability. The software products sell as SaaS (Software as a Service), and offer direct to consumer as well as business to business offerings. The book series is a revenue stream, as are the licensing of the multimedia presentations.
Ultimately, the community with a growing member and user base will foster revenue opportunities. Our complimentary affiliate program builds an online co-branding and marketing community. The novel social forum will bring individuals together to talk about and share their joint health (pain) experiences, ultimately raising joint health awareness and creating a powerful and useful community.
