ShareBlood: A Smart Management System for Blood Banks
(1)Main Idea: availability of the required blood bags in real-time.
(2)Proposed Solution: take benefits of new technologies like machine learning to enhance donation process and organize blood distribution
(3)Change the live: Saving one life in a world full of patients who need blood is to save the whole world
- Shortage in quantities for rare blood types (e.g., -AB, -B, +AB) - poor communication between hospitals and blood banks - patients require urgent communication with donators.
- Problem scale: problem concerns all people, all blood banks, and hospitals
- This problem concerns all people in any country
- Increasing availability rate of blood bags in the real-time
- According to the health international organization, each country has to donate with percent at least (2:3) % from its population. But how to persuade people to be permanent donator. Current solutions provide partial solutions like ‘Short message service (SMS) blood bank’ for getting donators in the real-time
- 1-directly we present a management system for blood banks and hospital to enhance medical services – Mainly we serve patients who need urgent blood bags
- 2-because it is a public problem, we asked on the social media if you a donator what facilities you need, also we visited hospitals and blood banks in our governorate to know their problems.
- 3-Our solution targets blood banks and hospital by improving communication, while for donators we present valuable services that make him/her permanent donators, and for the patient availability of blood bags increases continuously
- Our project is divided into two parts: (a) Main part of this application is developed as an android application, for enabling donators get campaigns notifications and view people in need for blood
- Services provided to:
. And (b) website for managing and monitoring blood donation process, the website is developed using PHP.
- blood bank: manage communication with hospitals to send and receive requests -for donators to make a donation and receive his medical analysis report also get notification if there is a person in need for blood
(3)The core of the application implements machine learning algorithms for handling urgent problems such as shortage in certain blood type during surgery operations, and to launch campaign in right place based on hospital needs reducing efforts, cost and Time. Also take benefits of Smart devices like GPS
