Medx E-health Center
MEDx eHealthCenter B.V. aims to drive universal access to public healthcare services by actively reducing and progressively eliminating existing gaps in healthcare delivery across emerging countries, using its unique set of innovative healthcare solutions to tackle the various challenges across healthcare delivery that have made ‘universal health coverage’ a utopia in most countries so far.
We anticipate to impact the lives of 20 million individuals and families in growth markets over the next 3 years. Other objectives we aim to achieve over this period of time include:
• Stimulate growth in the current GDP of healthcare in growth markets
• Stimulate a decrease in death rates by supporting local systems with even stronger processes
• Overcome resource challenges, by enabling interaction between healthcare providers
• Enhance social and emotional stability at national level by optimising reliability and accessibility of healthcare services
The problem we address today is that of ‘Access’ to healthcare services in emerging countries. Having researched the market, we came to realise that the problem of access bears an important burden to ‘Quality’ in healthcare delivery in places where services may be accessible. As reported by McKenzie in a 2016 report, there is uneven quality in the spectrum of healthcare delivery.
In the same report, published by McKenzie in August 2016, they reveal that Misdiagnosis is the 3rd leading cause of death in the US, claiming more than 250 000 deaths per year. It is important to realise that the US is one of the few countries in the world that meets that ration of demand and supply recommended by the WHO. An average ratio of 2.3:1000. The average ratio in our target countries is 0.53:10 000, we leave to your imagination to guess the implication on deaths based on misdiagnosis annually. Keeping in mind that the healthcare system is out of pocket for a bigger portion of the population, adding even more the pressure on citizens and patients.
Our Consumers are : Men & Women aged 20 - 45 Years Old High and middle level educated whether sick or not Own a laptop or Smartphone and have family members abroad Living in Africa, Asia, South America, Eastern Europe Average revenue : 500 - 2000 $ per Month Upper and Middle Class
This market The platform currently offers 7 services targeting the needs of the healthcare seekers, while creating added value for the healthcare providers. An estimated 2 billion people make up the population of our target countries, including local and global citizens from Africa, South America, Eastern Europe and South East Asia. We will focus on the first 1% innovators of this population in the coming 3 to 5 years, those that are technology savvy and have a drive for newness.
An estimated 170 Million of this target population is available online, according to the ‘healthcare seeker’ market sizing exercise we have performed on social media. These individuals are aged 25 to 45 years old. The medical population has been sized and is being engaged by various means, including national board order of physicians and various health associations.
The MEDx.Care digital health solution is based on a generalisable, outcome based framework recommended by the World Health Organisation’s to achieve a sustainable healthcare systems. A community based platform connecting healthcare providers, healthcare seekers and families in an innovative(or digital) environment that enables access, acquisition and payment of healthcare services and healthcare resources.Care providers to list their care capabilities and earn money. They can also get access to care resources for their own growth and improvement.
Both the WHO framework and the MEDx.Care solutions are designed to address 80% of standard factors at the heart of disparities in healthcare delivery and access, leaving a 20% margin for our solution to be implemented to fit the specific context. We have built a network of partners across Africa to pilot replicability of our core solution, the markets’ response have confirmed the relevance of the standard solutions and revealed the need for customisable as well as offline solutions. Markets included in the referred pilot have included Cameroon, Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Togo, Tunisia & Burkina Faso to name some. The MEDx.Care digital health solution comprises of the following products and services;
Product 1: The generic digital hospital
An 'off the shelf' solution to facilitate harmony in the health system in an interoperable way. The generic digital hospital is a system that can be implemented to address the core factors driving gaps in healthcare delivery
Product 2: The customised digital hospital
A solution that offers a similar set of capabilities as the generic digital hospital with additional benefits of enabling complementary capabilities to fit the specific healthcare delivery context of the customer.
Product 3: The portable health records card (offline solution)
An encrypted and secured patient record card that addresses the challenge of sustainable medical record keeping by enabling access to patient records both online and offline, while improving first time right diagnosis and subsequently lowering rates of patient readmissions.

MEDx eHealthCenter is a multiservice digital space that targets the needs of HCS and HCP so that issues of and supply (accessibility) as well as affordability of healthcare services in growth markets are effectively dealt with. We address the problem of inaccessibility to healthcare by offering A WEB ECOSYstem WHERE CARE SEEKERS ARE EMPOWERED TO ACCESS CARE RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO IMPROVE THEIR HE THROUGH A SIMPLE AND UNIQUE CONTACT POINT.
We aim to use technology in ways that alleviate the burden of limited infrastructure. The system on which MEDx eHealthCenter operates, intelligently integrates concepts linked to telemedicine, patient driven medical record, virtual communication & collaboration, as well as a target driven method, which enables to build a relevant, robust and sustainable healthcare system for our targets.
Our long-term goal is to become the 'Facebook' of the healthcare sector by radically innovating in the way people interact within the space of healthcare. We want to become the first digital hospital offering the most
relevant medical services and expertise to growth markets by 2025. Ultimately, we intend to achieve a model of healthcare delivery that is sustainable, secure, robust and enables delivery of quality services in growth markets and at competitive prices.
We are focusing on business opportunities arising in digital health (herein referred to as ehealth). If you wonder how this concept differs from the concept of telemedicine, it combines aspects linked to telemedicine, virtual collaboration and exponential organizations to list a few, in ways relevant to the sociocultural and socioeconomic contexts of the target markets, ensuring delivery of truly impactful innovations. We had a luxury to acquire quality education and a great professional experience. It is time to put it to use and to make a difference.

In summary, there is limited supply of healthcare services in growth market, which gradually becomes more limited due to brain drain (medical professionals going away to have access to educational and institutional resources). Scarcity and cost of educating medical professionals overseas imply that cost of healthcare is high for locals. The diaspora (natives who have immigrated) provide a way in, for locals to afford quality care. The challenge is to create a system that relies fully on technology to create a dynamic for the locals, diaspora and other countries to improve the supply of care financing and care resources & Knowledge.

An estimated 2 billion people make up the population of our target countries, including local and global citizens from Africa, South America, Eastern Europe and South East Asia. We will focus on the first 1% innovators of this population in the coming 3 to 5 years, those that are technology savvy and have a drive for newness.
Strategic Objectives:
In the coming 1 to 5 years, MEDxCare aim at attracting Hundred thousands of patients and families across the emerging globe. As a step for nations to Achieve universal health coverage, including financial risk protection, access to quality essential health-care services and access to safe, effective, quality and affordable healthcare for all. This will be achieved through tight collaboration or partnership with B2B and B2G in the health sector and industry.
Partnerships:
Due to the scale of our model and our purpose which relies on building an ecosystem of healthcare resources; we will have to be very smart in building a network of traditional and technology driven healthcare
companies. Each partner will be classified based on level of importance as the study on our value network has
shown per the different service.
1. The biggest need in partnership will first be in primary healthcare where we will team up with doctors and nurses to use the cloud base system in order to perform their work.
2. In the secondary care; we need to find technology solution for laboratory test and pharmacy e-commerce will be set up.
3. In the tertiary care; care seekers in the platform should be able to find hospitals across the world offering the healthcare specialities they need in an easy way.
Return and risks for investors:
The investor will get a compensation in a form of an equity, subject to a pay off plan estimated in 5 years from the time of receiving the investment. The payback will be ensured by the founding team, by means of reacquiring part or all of the investors’ shares or by selling the business to a third party.
We have clearly elaborated and understood the various risks facing the MEDx universe, from strategic to operational. These are well understood and discussed internally to constantly monitor and address them. To have an overview of the MEDx risk universe, risk appetite and risk tolerance, please reach out to us so we can make the full report available.
Business Model & Formula
Because accessibility is the key topic we are addressing; We have looked into the actual number of the population in each of our target countries and we also checked it against the WHO best practice for Doctor/patients ratio.
This lead us to realise that of all our 27 countries; we have an average 0.6/1000 while the WHO recommends 2.3/1000. On a total population of 2568253740, this means a rough 1.9 Billions people not having access to healthcare.
MEDx.Care aims to focus on the 1% of the urban population that is tech savvy and financially well off at family level. That is the reason why we will offer to a rough 7 millions people vulnerable in urban areas a set of healthcare packages. These packages will be made available in collaboration with existing care providers, pharmacies, laboratories etc against a certain price. MEDx.Care will make sure to always get a 10% fee on every subscription. We require a minimum of 6 months subscription per family.
