MyCognition for My Brain Health
- Pre-Seed
We can use cognitive fitness assessments and training programmes to measure, monitor, prevent and treat mental illness. In so doing we improve brain health.
Most mental health interventions involve specialist intervention or drugs. This limits their usefulness to people who have been diagnosed and who are profoundly mentally ill. Poor cognitive fitness is a major component of, and a significant risk factor in all mental illnesses, psychiatric and neurological. By assessing and training cognitive fitness, we can therefore measure, monitor, prevent and treat mental illness and promote brain health. We can do this at all ages, but since most mental disorders emerge when we are young, it would be apt to tackle this issue in schools.
The basis of our theory is neuroplasticity, the ability of the brain to renew, regenerate and regrow neuronal pathways, especially if stimulated. There is increasing evidence that cognition is a major component of and a significant risk factor in mental illness. There is increasing evidence that the first symptoms of mental illness are deficits in cognitive fitness. MyCognition is undertaking clinical trials in a range of neuropsychiatric conditions, in clinics, and in real world studies in schools, the community, and in the workplace.
Our solution will potentially benefit all who are predisposed to poor mental health. In helping them, we will also reduce a major component of the direct (medical) and indirect (societal) costs associated with poor mental health. Thus, individuals will benefit, but also health systems, social care and criminal justice systems, and workplaces through improved productivity. The earlier in someone’s life that we use our programmes, the greater help we can give them. However, it is never too late to intervene. Our programmes work through all major devices (pc's, mac's, iphones, ipads and tablets).

To date, most cognitive testing is through paper and pencil test, which are costly, require a specialist and take a long time to complete. MyCQ is self-assessed, in less than 15 minutes, gives immediate results and is accessible on most devices in most settings. Linking MyCQ to our training interventions gives a greater chance of success. Thus, MyCognition have developed two unique, digital programmes. Nothing else assesses cognitive fitness as broadly and easily as MyCQ. Nothing else trains as comprehensively and as adaptively as AquaSnap. No-one else is testing programmes like ours in clinical trials, real world studies and individual consumers.
Poor cognitive fitness leads to poor educational outcomes and poor health, which then spirals back to cause deeper poor cognition. The MyCognition programmes break this downward spiral, replacing it with a virtuous circle of improved cognitive fitness leading to better education and health outcomes, which bring about better cognitive fitness. We can help everyone, but our main target will be the bottom 5% to 10% in society who bring about 80% of societies costs. We help those most in need.
Our programmes can be accessed via all devices, including smart phones, in most settings. Once the R&D costs have been covered the software will be relatively inexpensive and very cost-effective, bringing about large cost benefits. Individuals can purchase the programmes on an annual license, but most will access through education and workplace institutions, who will be able to leverage volume discounts. Health providers and insurers will be wanting to have access for their lives covered.

Self-funded by founder to date. Our business plan allows us to continue into next year. We are seeking our first external investors to further secure our survival. We are commercially targeting institutions, health and health insurance providers, as well as seeking partners to help take our programmes to market. Future sales will be fed back into R&D to further enhance our offering. We have applied for a patent to protect our programmes.
Our approach is novel, disruptive and ahead of the curve. It requires time to take and time to train. At this early stage many may not see the benefit or undervalue it, thus not wishing to pursue it. Building evidence that the programmes work is costly and takes time. To date the company has undertaken proof of concept in several settings, but the work has to go on and is never ceasing.

Solve can give us the access to expertise, talent and finance to take our solution to the next level and get real traction in schools, the community and workplaces. Solve can help us solve the problem of how we measure, monitor, prevent and treat poor mental health, which affects one in five individuals at some time in their lives, causing misery and huge economic hardship.
Work with us and make a big difference. Thank you.
Several universities are partners in our clinical trials. Several clinics have used our programmes. Almost 100 schools have used the programmes and several businesses.
We are seeking partners in the education, health and health insurance, employee benefit and clinical health spaces.
