(promoting an active society within the community, schools and in the workplace). Noncommunicable - or chronic - diseases are diseases of long duration and generally slow progression. The four main types of noncommunicable diseases are cardiovascular diseases (like heart attacks and stroke), cancer, chronic respiratory diseases (such as chronic obstructed pulmonary disease and asthma) and diabetes. Noncommunicable diseases, or NCDs, are by far the leading cause of death in the world, representing 63% of all annual deaths. Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) kill more than 36 million people each year. Some 80% of all NCD deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries. NCDs were once linked to affluent societies but now the poor suffer the most. NCDs share four common risk factors: Tobacco use, unhealthy diet, lack of physical activity and the harmful use of alcohol.
Poor air quality kills people. Worldwide, bad outdoor air caused an estimated 4.2 million premature deaths in 2016, about 90% of them in low- and middle-income countries, according to the WHO. Air pollution has been linked to higher rates of cancer, heart disease, stroke, and respiratory diseases such as asthma. In the U.S. nearly 134 million people—over 40 percent of the population—are at risk of disease and premature death because of air pollution.

The wellness meter gauges body vitals and air quality among other parameters, providing this information to our clients in real time.
