Autistic adults are either underemployed or unemployed due to the daily challenges of obtaining and sustaining access to viable employment resources, as their chronological age and developmental achievements often aren't aligned- which present obstacles within expected milestones.
Special education scholars can remain enrolled in school until age 26 and most public schools often lack funding that focuses on their passion for digital arts and exploratory hands-on workforce training that are compatible with their social differences.
1 in 34 children are diagnosed as autistic, according to the CDC.
Approx. 42.5 million Americans are living with a disability- referencing the 2021 Census Bureau data.
7.3 million students (age 3-21) are enrolled in special education under the IDEA, which is approx. 15% of all public-school students, per National Center for Education Statistics.
27% of military veterans had a service-connected disability, per Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Post K-12 scholars and military servicemembers who have exceptional family members (autistic+) have success metrics that aren't readily defined for autistic adults who have "aged out of the system." Required achievements are often unrealistic due to the lack of hands-on experience often essential for workforce prosperity- such as employers requiring 2 years of work experience.
House of Artists Foundation's Camp Artism champions autistic scholars via phenomenal breakthroughs via workshops in mobility, trade skills training, emergency preparedness, independent living, financial literacy, and workforce development- an electric viable employment pursuit filled with passion + purpose using Adobe Creative Cloud, Google Monthly Budget Sheets, WIX website development, and specialty digital apps and platforms.
Our days start at 8am and wrap at 4pm and occur in (8) different locations throughout the United States + Canada.

Our partner agencies have the opportunity to leverage our services by imploring their team members to volunteer to meet their agencies neighbor-to-neighbor commitment to community service, which can also translate to dollar matches for every hour volunteered.
Our donors are always impressed when they see our impact report and encourage employee matching.
We also engage in contract-based work with local schools, who look to provide additional creative career opportunities centered around digital arts and public safety.
