OnePlanet Vegan

Our project is based on the four pillars of sustainability: human, social, economic and environmental.

We couldn’t agree more, but just to mark this out, veganism is not a diet, but a way of living, which englobes not only food, but all goods consumed.

One of our concerns is climate change. Therefore, our goal is to reduce the carbon footprint, consuming only products without animal origin, packaging-free, and zero waste  or recyclable.

Our solution aims to strengthen local vegan communities economic system.  Promoting local markets especially small ones, so products can be produced, bought and sold locally, reducing supply chain carbon footprint.

It is a business model that can lead a big impact in our environment.

We are addressing many issues, some examples:

• Raw materials with reduced footprint: Only no animal-derived products can be sold or taught how to produce. It is already one reason this raw material has zero or minimal carbon footprint. But, we go further, we incentivate products free or biodegradable packaging, for example, people can buy or learn how to make their own shampoo in bar, generating zero waste after consumption.
• Biodegradable products: We promote only biodegradable products, thus one example would be edible straws and plates, and biodegradable toothbrush.
• Carbon footprint:  Ideas to increase the efficience of water and energy usage can be found.
• Besides that, we provide a carbon footprint calculator to estimate the impacts we are making in our planet.
• Recycling products: users can inform and find points where products can be disposal for ecological recycling or reuse.
• Waste disposal: Organic waste can be disposal in points where it is turned in natural fertilizer for community garden.
• Oil collection: If the oil is taken to the correct destination, it can be used to make soap, instead of polluting the sewer system and rivers.
• Carbon emission by transport:We encourage local trade, decreasing the need of transportation.

Veganism has increased about 40% yearly in Brazil.

Nowadays Brazil has approximately 5 million people whose already embraced Veganism. with our solution we want to reach this market, helping people to maintain standard quality of products and services for demand.

Our aim is to help people who are starting to work with Vegan products and are hoping to improve their knowledge and income, in our platform they can find recipes to make new products and also sell them. We also work with companies that already has a solid business which can serve as an exemple for the small ones.    

Our solution will be available for everyone who wants to live a sustainable life.

OnePlanet Vegan englobes many functionalities, like: Recipes, Mini markets, Experts, organic street markets, restaurants, food and other products, tips, events, oil collect points and recycle points. People can find recipes to make food and sustainable products, furthermore, people can find products they need and sell products to the local community.

In this app you can: find places and ways for waste disposal, sell your own or buying people ́s products, know when and where sustainable events are going to happen, contact specialists, find product fairs, pet friendly products and many more useful ways to do things in a sustainable way.

With OnePlanet Vegan we found a solution for problems such as: 

Recycle and Reuse: OnePlanet Vegan offers a way to find places where you can discard your waste correctly furthermore to be recycled and reused as another product, an example is with Oil, in our app you will find places to properly discard Oil used in food, some of those places reuses this Oil to make soap. 

Use of sustainable products: OnePlanet Vegan also offers multiple options and ways to find or sell sustainable products locally, find places to eat, shops to buy products, recipes to prepare your own food following a healthy and vegan way, we even have a space if you are looking for tips on how to live a sustainable life, which is very useful specially for people who are starting up in Veganism.

Shortage and Distribution of food: With OnePlanet Vegan app people can find places called community gardens, which everyone can help to plant and collect resources.

Vegan Community: In our app you can connect yourself with all the people who uses the app, we give the power and support for people to help each other to evolve their products.

We have been online for one year in Brazil and we are in more than 200 cities with more than 4.000 sellers and restaurants. 

Our motto is: “We support local market. Products and Services that aim the health and well-being. Producers that aim the sustainability. Afterall, we only have this OnePlanet.”

What makes our solution innovative is putting together all kinds of fields in a way that anyone at any place can have access to, using the power that an app can have, with the goal of making the world a better place.

It is a place where everyone can find every information they need for a sustainable life, learn and afterwards even increase their incomes selling products in the platform.

It is also a guide for people to improve their knowledge about sustainable solutions.

Currently we are serving approximately more than 10,000 people,

in one year we expect 500,000 people

in 5 years we expect to serve 500,000,000+ people

but our aim is to serve the whole Vegan community

The next year we expect to help even more people to embrace a sustainable life, we hope to achieve the hole Vegan community.

In five years we hope to address the whole Vegan Community.

Our current barrier is media and financial background to enlarge our project and make OnePlanet Vegan known for many communities as possible.

In five years our barrier will be to manage to offer our support for the whole Vegan Community.

We want to make partnership with every vegan market and local bussiness, putting a label expliciting it is an OnePlanet Vegan partner.

We intend to make vegan events so community can get together and make more changes together.

Furthermore, we intend to have collect oil points in these locations.

In Brazil, we are partnering with more than 2.500 small and big vegan producers, sellers who are currently using our app to make a living in a sustainable way.

Financial sustainability will be  acquire as we gain more and more users.

Revenue comes from a fee of products sold and marketing inside the platform and collect points.

We are applying to Solve especially because we need to work with collaboration with this unique community, we need a stronger community support, media and conference exposure

We are really open and willing to receive mentorship and strategic advice from Solve and MIT networks, and business and entrepreneurship training.

For the vegan community would be a very important step to be among Solver Teams, it would be really empowering and it would show there is a big understanding in the world of the importance of veganism for a sustainable world.

We would like to partner with companies that aims sustaintability and especially with companies that want to support veganism.

Even markets, could be a good point to put stands for oil collection and displaying our solution.
