Amy's House

The corporation's mission is to provide emergency shelter and support services to victims of domestic violence, intimate partner violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking and/or human trafficking, empower survivors/victims to create safe and self-sufficient lives for themelves and thier children; and to educate and increase the public's awareness of domestice violence, sexual assault, human trafficking and associated issues.

We exist to provide service exclustively to people displaced from their home by the crimes enumerated in the Mission. Each is unique, but all have needs for shelter, safety, and advocacy. Graduates have the opportunity to retool themselves, recover, rebuild and reintergrate productively into the larger community. Our objective in every case is to provide the connections, context, teaching and opportunities to " graduate" from Amy's House with employment, skills and housing to build econimic self-sufficiency and mobility, often for the first time in Survivors lives.

Our facility is a state- of- the- art, energy efficient, and provides a safe and nurturing enviorment for all survivors. Amy'House offers caring and compassionate staff with roles of, Day/Night advocates, Case Managers, Court Advocates, and Shelter Manager to make surviors transition smooth and safe. 

The work of LCCADV/Amy's House is two-fold, first, provide emergency shelter; all essentials of daily living and safe, secure time to heal to survivors of our mission-related crimes, second, while continuing to provide them safe shelter in our purpose built shelter, we offer resources ofr them to retool and rebuild their lives. We serve those in domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking. The need is great and we are proud to provide services to  women, men and children fleeing from domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking.

Amy's House has created one of the safest;most secure and most-energy efficient purpose built shelter facilities in the US. Our staff, Executive Director, DV OPS Director, Case Managers, Court Advocates, Program Manager, Day/Night Advocates are well trainied, with caring and compassionate hearts that have built outstanding relationships, partnerships with the local community covering Lincoln, Gaston, and Cleveland Counties of NC. We are part of the CoC continuum of  care in all three counties. Our crisi hotline is available 24/7 365 days. We recieve referrals from our partnerships, CoC, DSS, Hessed House, Helping Hands, local churches, and we give back to the community as we are all in this together to make a better, happier, safer and secure lives for all.

Amy's House has been in existence for 30 years. We started in a small 100 year old mill house with 5 rooms. In 2023, we built a purposefully state of the art, energy effiency shelter that is safe and secure; provides a "Home" for those fleeing a safe, happier, better life from doemstic violence, stalking, dating violence, sexual assautl and human trafficking. We moved into the new facility in November 2023, Amy's House has been full ever since. Many have become gainfully employed,entered into secure safe homes for them and their children. Amy's House graduates are able to live a purposeful life from domestice violence, sexual assault, and human trafficing by healing and not allowing thier circumstance define who they are. They Heal. They Grow. They Live. They Thrive.

Our purposefully built energy efficient shelter is one of a kind. It is the safest, most secure facilities in the US. Amy's House offers, family rooms with bathrooms for those with chidlren, we have dorm room like rooms for survivors with seperate family bathrooms, as well as men/women bathrooms for privacy. Our building is secure with gated entrance, and does not reflect our  name on the outside of the building for protection of our survivors. We have a full kitchen, common area with TV, a phone room to make outside calls only for survivors, beautiful inspirational garden with inspiring brick quotes to encourage and grow, chidlrens playground, case management, case mangers, advocates, complete support with wraparound services to ensure healing, growth and rebuilding of their lives.

We use Osnium Software to track data, as well as grant reporting from state, federal and private grants. All surviros recieve a survey after graduating from Amy's House.

Our state of the art, energy efficient emergency shelter is one of a kind. The devlopment of it, reduces use of power, with double cinder block envolope  walls, for security from storms, and outside people. Our facility is over 10,000 sq feet  and three levels with an electric bill of less than $600 monthly.

Amy's House has been in business for 30 years. Our organization has been innovating and growing for 30 years, but the last five years have been very goal oriented to grow and serve more in our community.

Amy's House creates  an atmosphere where everyone feels welcome and valued, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or other differences. We believe in our communities and welcome the uniqueness of each individual.

Amy's House operates from Amy's Closet sales. All proceeds from Amy's clsoet funds Amy's House. Amy's Closet operations are  true to innovations by fudning Amy's House sustainably. Amy's House also applys for grants to continue to expand services.
