Fair Food Forager
- Pre-Seed
Highlighting food businesses, individuals and community groups working towards a sustainable food system. Suggested by the global community, with information and location. We will show people how to create a sustainable food business, produce / grow and source sustainable food themselves for sale or to feed their families.
Access to quality, healthy and affordable food that is produced ethically is a massive global issue. It impacts people, animals and the environment.
Eating chemically overloaded food, using unsustainable farming practice, supporting unethical corporations, producing unnecessary plastic and food waste and stripping forest for excessive meat consumption is destroying our planet, our health and our ability to feed a growing population.
There is an imbalance in our food system. Its a factory farming, over packaged and wasteful system. Community, culture and health has been forgotten.
Local economies, wages, physical health, mental health and environmental health are all casualties.
Healthy diet and environment has a positive impact on physical and mental health. Producing food locally and supporting local business creates stable economy, community and a closed loop food system minimising waste and food miles.
A global community of concerned consumers can highlight businesses operating ethically and sustainably, supporting them with our patronage, sharing what they do well.
Resulting in other businesses adapting successful practice, support local economies, reduce waste and including sustainability into business models through consumer pressure.
Supporting local economies, improving health and environment. Showing us all we can work within the natural processes of nature.

This solution needs human interaction. It involves suggestions coming from local communities, travellers and small business. It works by using consumer spending to influence business and increase impact. In encourages communication and team work in B2B and B2C partnerships. Working together to reduce deliveries, food waste and creating new businesses to fill needs locally. From produce to packaging it can show any community they can work together to fulfil healthy food needs. The outcome is more employment, stronger communities and groups working together from cleaning the environment to growing food for sale at local restaurants or feeding those in need.
The website and app are completely free to users, and there is no charge to list on the site. We currently have a small admin fee $15USD to help us maintain the website. We are currently looking to build in an online store to sell ethical items and plastic reduction items.
We will also do speaking events, look at sponsorship from like minded brands as well as giving businesses the ability to promote events for a small fee. Everything we are looking at is minimal cost though large volume.
The community response has been huge and in approximately 18 months we have expanded into 8 countries and holding back from others.
A small team working as volunteers and lack of funding has kept our growth controlled.
Analysis shows that lack of funding or a well financed competitor would be our main problems, however we have been first to market in many areas.

We are a passionate team who are willing to take on the challenge of fixing a broken food system. We see the issues surrounding this challenge and we have extensive knowledge in this arena.
We are looking for assistance in creating financial sustainability and in networking further so that we can help more people around the world.
It would be amazing to utilise this network and work together with other like minded individuals and groups to multiply our impact.
We are now a BCorporation and also work with many plastic reduction and food waste companies, non profits and NGO's.
Our partners are all the businesses attempting to reduce the impact of food on people and planet.
We don't have any direct competitors that we know of.
