Fiorella is the co-founder and CEO of Cuentología. She is responsible for leading the business strategy and ensuring its proper execution with the team. Additionally, she oversees the administrative areas of finance, legal, and accounting. She is also responsible for the Fundraising process.
We both co-founders and the CTO are 100% dedicated to Cuentologia, so we can actively participate in the program and commit to the hours required for the project.
Fiorella has previous experience working in multinational companies in the Marketing area for more than 12 years. She managed family-oriented brands and has some knowledge of researching the target. Ursula has worked in Advertising agencies for more than 8 years as a creative director so she can help with anything related to copywriting and marketing too.
We also have an infant psychologist on the team that we can reach whenever we need help.
We are all parents in the team, that understand our target. We are all Hispanics living in different cities in LATAM (Peru, Argentina, Mexico).
Cuentologia is a screen-free storytelling platform that offers therapist-curated stories in an immersive audio format, designed for children´s social-emotional growth.
10% of the rising generation is diagnosed with attentional deficit disorder, another 10% with anxiety, and 40% of them have already received treatment. Even before, in 2-8 years old, already 1 in 6 present a mental health or emotional disorder. And screen-over time is one of the main reasons (+50% of children spend more than 6 hours a day glued to screens).
We need to PREVENT. Start at home, start earlier. But, how can we build emotional foundations while working 9 hours a day? That is why we created Cuentologia: a Daily 7min story-based Therapy.
Cuentologia is a combination of stories designed to explain every pivotal moment in Childhood: such as losing someone loved, moving to another country, losing a tooth or starting PreSchool. Like a magic hat, filled with every story parents will ever need. All in a screen-free audio immersive format, that enhances young children´s VALUABLE imagination.
Cuentologia is an immersive content platform with “easy to use” tools to improve children's social-emotional development and prepare them for the 21st century. Cuentologia offers 100% original content in the form of +65 audio stories, vetted by parents and psychologists.

- Level 2: You capture data that shows positive change, but you cannot confirm you caused this.
We ran a study with 600 children, between 3-7 years old, in LATAM, that listened to Cuentologia for 5 months in their school and at home. We evaluated 5 social-emotional skills of the CASEL Model (emotional self-consciousness, self-control, social consciousness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making) before and after listening to Cuentologia.

Also, we have in-app messaging with surveys for parents to understand the impact we are having on them. We ask how disappointed they will be if Cuentologia disappears (PMF), and another question to know how much they feel Cuentologia helps them in their parenting journey (IMPACT).
80% of parents think Cuentologia changed their parenting
70% of parents will be very disappointed if Cuentologia disappears.
That our content has an impact on both parents and children. At first, we only had qualitative feedback but with the last study and in-app survey, we have proven with quantitative data this impact. Still, we have a long way to understand what else we can measure if we have long-term results and other social-emotional skills we can impact.
To be considered a company that has a social impact, we need more data to support us. We must have more case studies in different cities, with different socio-economic levels, and consider different variables that may affect the socio-emotional development of children in early childhood. We rely on the CASEL model to conduct evaluations, but we could consider creating a more suitable customized model for our theory of change, and for that, we need the expertise and support of specialists in the field.
It would also be ideal to include questionnaires within the app to measure improvements (before and after) in the parent-child relationship, to see the trend of improvement in each child's socio-emotional skills, and to make more personalized content recommendations based on the challenges they are facing and the specific needs of each family.
Also, to expand into a B2B model and reach schools with our content, we need endorsement from recognized institutions that endorse our content and prove that it generates a positive impact on children.
Any outstanding data that we can use to take our product to a higher level like neuroscience-based data on brain development in children, would be very helpful to support audio format for example against screen over time, or soft skills vs hard skills development.
1. Based on neuroscience, how does a child´s brain behave and develop after being exposed to only audio/audio stories compared to those overexposed to screens?
2. How does Storytelling help improve social-emotional skills in early childhood? Which are the main durable skills that can be improved with our stories? Soft skills vs Hard skills?
3. How a good parent-child relationship has a positive impact on the brain development of children in early childhood?
- Foundational research (literature reviews, desktop research)
- Formative research (e.g. usability studies; feasibility studies; case studies; user interviews; implementation studies; process evaluations; pre-post or multi-measure research; correlational studies)
- Summative research (e.g. impact evaluations; correlational studies; quasi-experimental studies; randomized control studies)
-Audio format benefits vs screen overtime effects in children's brain development.
-The importance of developing soft skills in early childhood.
- The importance of a good parent-child relationship in children´s development.
We will use this information to endorse our value proposition of ONLY AUDIO CONTENT for children in early childhood.
We can create more content related to the soft skills that we can impact.
We will customize our content offer to enhance parent-child connection moments.
We can create marketing selling lines to promote the usage of our stories.
Prove that taking action in early childhood can help prevent mental and emotional disorders in the upcoming years. And, using storytelling as a tool can have a positive impact on children´s social emotional development, helping them become better adults in the future.
