ElectroKoin, the crypto for a zero waste environment.

Today, the problem of electronic waste leaves a strong environmental footprint. Our companies are generating more and more e-waste: There has been an increase of 8% in 2016 and a recycling rate still very insufficient according to the UN. Faced with this challenge, our solution is ElectroKoin, a mobile application accompanied by a cryptocurrency that allows to make profitable these old electronic devices (Smartphone, Computers ...) that one has at home. These devices contain rare metals that can be reused such as aluminum, gold, silver ... This application will be a reference that allows companies to more easily find electronic waste and consumers, a good way to win cryptocurrency. On a global scale, this project will have a huge impact by reducing the number of electronic waste in nature and also by allowing people to make money with their waste.

According to the report published by the United Nations University (UNU), the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the International Solid Waste Association, human activities have produced 44.7 million tons of electronic waste (WEEE) in 2016, it is 8% more than in 2014 (+ 3.3 million tonnes). 44.7 million tons of electronic waste (Smartphone,) is the equivalent of 4,500 Eiffel Tower! And the situation should worsen since this rate is expected to accelerate to reach 17% by 2021, the fastest increase in all garbage in the world. Unfortunately, only 20% of e-waste generated last year was collected and recycled. The remaining 80% was incinerated, stored in open dumps or buried in the ground. In Haiti alone, there were more than 1 million electronic waste in the year 2018. These wastes very harmful to the environment include reusable elements such as gold, aluminum, lead that many companies in recycling research and that can generate money for users.

ElectroKoin is a platform that will serve two very distinct categories:

• First of all it is the people of the population who are very affected by the electronic waste, thanks to this project they will find a simple way to renumerate their old electronic debris while protecting their environment. In our field surveys, we question them about the impact of this danger on them and we show them how important this project is for their communities.
• The other category is indeed the companies that make recycling because with this project it would be easier for them to connect with users and a good way to pay these people.

Electrokoin offers the population a way to renumber their electronic waste with our crypto to reduce the amount of waste present in nature.

Faced with this challenge of electronic waste, our solution is ElectroKoin, a cryptocurrency that allows people to monetize their electronic waste while connecting them with companies in this area. The objective is to encourage the consumer to become a player in curbside recycling. "Every time you return an old phone, damaged appliance or old PCs in a dedicated place, you will be credited with ElectroKoin via your mobile phone. This will entitle you, for example, to vouchers. Individuals are even expected to spend their free time collecting waste for compensation. It will be a global currency that any business can use to renounce people who bring electronic waste. This solution is being developed on the Etherum blockchain platform which is very secure. Our cryptocurrency uses a public stable type blockchain which means the value will not need to go up or down at any moment. This application will have a considerable impact not only on the local community but also in the international because less and less waste will be present in nature.

Faced with many existing projects, what makes our ElectroKoin project totally innovative is in our process of renumeration of people who bring electronic waste with our world cryptocurrency. Traditionally, companies have a hard time not only locating electronic waste but also easily paying these people but with the Electrokoin app, a company can easily pay the people who bring in these wastes. It is a global solution because it is a complex problem that attacks the world population.

The core technology that my utilize solution is blockchain technology. Electrokoin is a cryptocurrency based on the Etherum platform including the ERC20 protocol which offers a global solution to companies evolving in the recycling of electronic waste. Our cryptocurrency will be stablecoin type ie we will not be threatened by the high as well as the decline, it will be stable. Thanks to this transparent technology, safe and without a central control body, people will be more easily renumerated for their waste and as it will be possible to reduce the number of these wastes present in nature.

The blockchain can help us live in a safer and healthier world so ElectroKoin is the first step towards a world with less electronic waste.

Faced with this problem of electronic waste, our solution would be the best to fight against this problem and this can be explained in several ways:

First, people will have more interest to recycle their electronic waste if indeed they think that it can bring them money in return.

Then, this crypto will be an element that will encourage people to go for electronic waste everywhere to sell them and in particular we will see a reduction in the amount of electronic waste globally.

Currently our pilot area is the department of Artibonite in Haiti where we experiment with 200 families. We made a projection in one year that we will be able to reach more than 400 families who will be renumerated for their electronic waste.

In 5 years, we will be established on all the country with more than 50.000 families.

Thus, we will be stronger to implement in other regions of the planet or this problem of electronic waste is ravaging such as the African continent, La Caraibes ...

For the next year ElectroKoin wants to be a reference in this sense in a local way by establishing us on the 10 departments in order to serve the whole population. We will be the ideal solution for companies that recycle electronic waste.

ElectroKoin is pursuing several key objectives for the next five years:

First, it is to reduce by half the number of electronic waste present in the environment by encouraging people to recycle their waste through our cryptocurrency.

Secondly, we want this currency to be global to be used in the exchange of electronic waste with the companies concerned.

Finally, we want this project to reach more than 100,000 people per department by allowing them to convert their waste into crypto.

For the next year, one of the obstacles that exist for me to achieve my goals is financially because we want to fully implement this project and also do a lot more investigations in the market.

Despite the considerable impacts that this project may have, however, there are many financial, technical, legal, cultural and commercial obstacles to the next five years.

Financially, with an inadequate budget this project will not have a strong impact against our objectives, which is to establish itself throughout the territory. In technical terms, we use the Etherum blockchain and the obtacles are related to the potential evolution of this technology knowing the world of blockchain that keeps growing.

We have a contingency plan to overcome each of the obstacles we have shared:

First, financially we will work with the municipality of each department given that reducing waste is part of their objectives, their contribution will help us in the context of our project. We are planning to raise funds or this money will be used to further our investigation of the market. On a technical level, we will anticipate the potential evolution of the blockchain technology of the Etherum platform, keeping up to date with the latest updates and rapid adaptation to our project.

For the other investment funds that we will have to find, they will serve first to strengthen the capacity of our team to better solve this problem and to improve our digital tools.

Our solution ElectroKoin is part of the company CITHADD, a firm that offers services in mobile application development and web platform. ElectroKoin is part of CITHADD which is the main group. We share the same technical resources in the development of digital projects.

We have 7 people who work on our solution ElectroKoin.

Several reasons explain our determination and motivation to implement this project: First, we all come from a community where this waste problem is our daily life, we see how harmful they are to the health of each of us. Electrokoin is a project for which we are already making huge sacrifices because we believe in its profitability and the impact this project will have on our community. Our main group has had many experiences both nationally and internationally. Recently laureat of a national competition with a blockchain project. We are used to working together on other similar projects and all this leads us in a privileged position to propose this solution and solve this problem of electronic waste.

Currently, we only work with the municipality of the city of Gonaives. We elaborate on how the mayor can intervene in the collection of these wastes and to what extent they will have to use our ElectroKoin system.

In terms of impact, our project allows people to earn money by selling their old electronic debris while helping to protect their environment. Our main customers are companies that recycle electronic waste. Our main source of income comes from business transactions to pay people who bring electronic waste. At each payment, our platform will have its own commission.

Indeed, we have a detailed plan to finance our work:

Abrod, it will be thanks to the transactions that will make recycling companies because we will take a commission for each transaction.
Second, we will be raising money for organizations working in this area.
Finally, we will work with actors such as cities municipalities because they are concerned for the most part by this problem of electronic waste. Thanks to these different sources of income, we will be able to cover our expenses.

Finally, just answering these questions it allows you to detect the strengths and weaknesses of your project, in any case I already enjoy the benefits that Solve could bring to my project.

We would like to collaborate with DEEE or D3E (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). One of the largest organization in the world that deals with the recycling of electronic waste. We would like this company to use our application as well as our cryptocurrency to renumerate people who bring electrical waste easily.

In the long term we plan to integrate the artificial intelligence in our solution in order to tackler this problem at best. As a use, we will allow the users thanks to the camera of their smarphone to scan electronic waste and to determine the potential of the reutilizable and precious elements that there in any wastes. The AI will help us better sort the waste electrical while cumulating a set of data useful to companies working in waste recycling.

We are determined to apply for the GM Prize because such an opportunity would allow us not only to have a global visibility for the project but also to benefit from their great networking that is vital to a project of our kind that is about an almost global problem. This prize would also allow us to deepen our investigations in order to circumvent the risks associated with it but also to finalize the implementation of this project which will have a considerable impact on the population. We are convinced that with such a price, our project can achieve its main goal of reducing the number of electronic waste present in the environment.

Applying for the Women Prize Prize is a great honor and opportunity for us because if we believe in global statistics, waste has the greatest impact on children and women who are most vulnerable. With this award, we will strengthen the ability of our team to manage the project well. Then we will work on a detailed plan to involve and encourage women to recycle electronic waste, which will be useful for their pockets but also for their health. This award would allow us to conduct a more in-depth investigation also on the amount of women affected by this problem and how we can improve our solution to all these problems.
