Green Haathi to Make Earth Green
Huge waste produced form cities have created enormous pressure on environment. In existing post-processing mechanism only 30% of the collected waste gets recycled and remaining 70% send to dumping site. This is due the sever mixing of different types of waste. This has a challenge of waste transportation and scarcity of raw material.
Systematic analysis shows that a large proportion of unprocessed waste consists of disposal plate waste and thin plastic.
In present solution a machine with good aesthetic view and processing capability can be installed near food outlet/public venue for processing food outlet waste. Machine reduces the waste volume and converts into raw material at waste generation site.
This make significant improvement in life of waste picker as reduced volume waste can be easily handle and also selling of recycled raw material form waste will improve their economic condition.
Waste management is among of the major challenges, having sever impact on environment and health. The genesis of huge quantity of solid waste to dump in land fill sites is lies in the method used for waste segregated. The different types of material in collected waste get mixed to the level that it can’t separate out and recycle with economic advantage.

In general methodology, the municipal waste collected from various sources is transported to a processing unit. In processing unit, the material which can be recycled get separate out and remaining send for landfill site. It has been observed that even after segregation of waste, a major portion waste, includes disposal plates, packaging and wet organic material is remains unprocessed and sent for dumping. The proposed solution give multiple advantages in form of raw material, reduced transportation, economic support for waste pickers and also inculcate a sense of accountability in waste producer.
In conventional waste processing method, waste is collected and transported to processing unit. In processing unit, the manual or machine based segregation is being performed.
The solution target to minimize this waste, who otherwise send for dumping. Major beneficiary of the proposed solution are waste pickers. It will be easy for them to pick reduced volume waste and also sell produced raw material for economical advantage.
The present model is to establish for 50 food outlets, each having per
day 400-600 customers. The estimated waste generation per day is 1.5-2
tonnes.
In the proposed solution is based on a new technology, called Green Haathi, to process and segregate the waste at the generation site. Initial design is made for food outlet waste.
In this the customers at food outlets feed the used food packaging to the machine. The customers feed of used packaging to the machine to perform his/her duty to dispose of the waste created by his activity. To invoke more participation some reward mechanism has also been made.The food packaging processed to segregate into ease disposable raw products. The raw material provide an economical and eco-friendly option for further provide the finished product. The power input require for this system is driven from solar energy.

We provide a tech-driven solution to handle the waste, which is generally ignore to process in conventional method of waste management. In this the target waste is the material that has major proportion in left over waste, after preliminary segregation.
The processing of waste at its generation site also helps waste producer to aware the challenge in waste processing and opportunity to contribute in mitigating waste.

The solution is in initial stage and working with about fifty food outlets. The each outlet have almost 400-500 footfalls.
In first year we expect to directly work with 20-25 waste pickers and provide training for them. The total serving for a year is expected to more than 1 million food waste disposal. By year five, we expected to have operated in 3 countries with 100 team members.

Installation cost is bear though the support of mentioned stake holders and a regular revenue can be generated though the output raw material and waste processing charges.
Initial investment is required for the fabrication and installation of the structure. The revenue for salary of care waste picker, maintenance charges and capital return is obtained through the sell of produced raw material. The additional source of income is obtained from the compost and waste oil.
