A.I. Ethnocentric Tutoring
- Nonprofit (may include universities)
A.I. Ethnocentric Tutoring (AIET) is where in the areas of teaching, tutoring, and mentoring, A.I. learns the ethnicity, race, culture, mores, and interests of individual students accordingly. From these parameters, students will therefore have a more personalized tutoring/ mentoring experience. This will also make the experience more relatable as well. While we at TUAC have contracted human tutors/mentors to help our clients with STEM and mentoring,we believe that the use of A.I. to do the tutoring/mentoring can help nonprofits save funding that can be used for something else. Although A.I. should never replace the human element of teaching/tutoring, it can be an invaluable tool that can aid teachers and mentors alike.
AIET will impact prority learners K-8 via using A.I. to learn the ethnicity, race, culture, mores, and interests of such youth and tutors/mentors accordingly. This will help educators by having a pesonalized tutor/mentor assistant that can also be alligned to the teaching method of a given instructor. The educator can assess the progress of any given student via A.I. qualitative and quantitative assessement tools incorporated into the system. AIE can help priority youth in the areas of:
1.) Helping youth excel in STEM and A.I. technology
2.) Aiding to the stability of families
3.) Helping youth stay out of the penal system
4.) Helping youth go on to college/trade school
Kevin Morris and Lorena Bolanos are the founders of TUAC and are knowledgeable about the problems of the community that they serve.TUAC has operated Operation Youth Build (OYB) for over 15 years and utilizes the highest quality instructor/mentors that enjoy giving back to the community through this program. OYB serves over 1000 low income, minority, and at risk youth (6-15year olds) per year in our facility in St. Louis, Missouri and online now. TUAC defines at risk youth as young people that requires temporary or ongoing intervention in order to succeed academically. OYB not only tutors’ youth in STEM in our facility, but mentors them as well. This program was primarily established to help such youth go on to college or trade school and remain out of gangs and the penal system. OYB functions yearly, while school is in session and during the summer months as a computer camp as well.
TUAC feels that our AIET program could work in any given community based on the feedback and input from our clients as well as our contracted tutor/mentors, and educators. AIE tutoring/mentoring would be a great companion to students in that it could be tailored to make it very adaptable and portable to their changing needs.
- Analyzing complex cognitive domains—such as creativity, collaboration, argumentation, inquiry, design, and self-regulation
- Providing continuous feedback that is more personalized to learners and teachers, while highlighting both strengths and areas for growth based on individual learner profiles

- Grades 6-8 - ages 11-14
- Concept
This stage was chosen because as it stands right now, it is a concept or idea that we feel is plausible, workable, and doable. With the technology of A.I. at hand, we feel that having the right expertise and funding, we can take this idea to the next level.

- No, but we have plans to be
We believe that AIET is innovative because it utilizes AI to tutor/mentor youth in STEM in a more personalized and tailored way. This personal way incorporates learning the traits of a given clients race, ethnicity, culture, and mores to get a better picture of how to assess them and teach them with a greater understanding their of their creatvity and inteligence levels. AIET would also mentor and encourage youth in the areas of living ethically and morally. Utilizing AIET could help nonprofit organizations save money by using this technology instead of contracting human tutor/mentors.
AIET would incorporate NLP, CV, DL,and Speech Recognition to be able to carry out the objectives of this program. These technologies would be incorporated in a virtual format to be able to tutor/mentor youth through their own personal electronc devices and through long distant learning technology in general.
We know that this idea works based on logic by what has been achieved by AI at the present time.

By utilizing AI to learn the traits of a given clients race, ethnicity, culture, and mores of students can help towards treating each one fairly and without bias or partiality. When a system is designed to wok with all people and treat all without bias, mankind is making great progress towards equality.
At present we have one persons working full time on this project. Kevin Morris- 314-566-3178 and Lorena Bolanos- 314-406-0157.
With the right funding and technical support, we invision AIET to be operational, applicable, and functional in an online format that can be utilized by students anywhere in the world.
We plan to make this accessible and available to priority clients via grants, crowdfunding, and private investors.
We are applying because we are seeking to help people of all races receive equitable intellectual and creative assessment and tutoring. This does not happen, especially in less affluent settings. We are also applying to recieve funding and resources to advance our idea/concept. Hopefully with the correct backing and support, we can implement this idea quickly and efficiently.
