Through the strategic amalgamation of these AI subdomains and technological frameworks, we are dedicated to offering a sophisticated solution that personalizes learning assessments and significantly elevates educational achievements for Pre-K-8 students.
As a foundation for this solution, the concept of Scaffolding is used. "Scaffolding" refers to the temporary support provided to learners as they engage in a learning task or activity. It aims to help learners acquire new knowledge or skills and gradually reduce support as they become more independent (Rohlfing et al., 2022). The concept has different interpretations, but it encompasses practices that enhance performance, knowledge, and skills (Pea, 2004). Our proposal encourages the role of artificial agents, like social robots, in language and literacy learning (Rohlfing et al., 2022). Previous studies found that artificial agents through devices like voice assistants, chatbots and social robots can play innovative roles in language learning and literacy, providing different perspectives and promoting adaptability. We emphasized the importance of understanding human-robot social interactions to maximize their educational potential with measurable effects on early language and literacy learning (Neumann, 2020). The findings suggested that social robots can support early language and literacy development in typically developing children at homes. The effects of robot-assisted language learning had positive effects on language acquisition compared to conditions without robots (Lee & Lee, 2022). Our team had interest and previous research that support the impact of children’s use of voice assistants as social counterparts (Girouard-Hallam, Streble & Danovitch, 2021), advances to justify our solution using the potential creativity of the AI (McCormak et al., 2020) and particularly scaffolding interventions that could be transformed in AI supported design with a greater impact on vocabulary learning and one-on-one interaction (Giraldo-Huertas, 2023).
