Our journey with AI education began over eight years ago in a school in Barcelona, Spain, long before AI gained widespread recognition as a transformative force. Recognizing the importance of preparing students for the AI-driven future, we pioneered AI education initiatives within our local community, laying the groundwork for what would later become AIKreate.

L'Horitzó School, a 56-year-old institution known for its project-based, innovative learning approach has long prided itself on being at the forefront of technical innovation within education. Eight years ago, we developed an Al literacy curriculum for our students, driven by the deep conviction that Al would trigger a revolutionary transformation. 

Our dedication to AI education caught the attention of experts at MIT, where our idea for AIKreate was selected during a prestigious bootcamp. Inspired by this validation and eager to further develop our vision, we established our company in Boston and relocated here to immerse ourselves in the vibrant innovation ecosystem of the city.

This journey underscores our deep commitment to empowering students with AI literacy and practical skills, fueled by our belief in the transformative power of education. Our experience in Barcelona and subsequent validation from MIT have shaped our approach to AIKreate, driving us to create a solution that is impactful, innovative, and accessible to learners globally.

AIKreate, having secured second place in the Special AI Track at GesAwards 2023, is embarking on an exciting new phase. Collaborating with the NGO AppleSeeds, AIKreate is set to commence a pilot program in Israel, furthering its reach and impact. Additionally, AIKreate is on the verge of finalizing presales agreements with after-school activities companies in Latin America, the USA, as well as schools in Spain.

We created a curriculum from scratch 8 years ago and taught groups of students annually since then with excellent results in every course, tested through exams and project creation and development. 

In addition, for the app, we conducted pilot programs in various educational settings to evaluate usability, engagement, and learning outcomes.  
Student surveys and interviews have provided qualitative information, and data provided by the app itself has shown us the usage skills and knowledge learned by students.

Our approach prioritizes the creation of unbiased data based on scientific principles. Student-generated data is used to provide reliable and secure information, which contributes to their improvement and helps teachers improve their teaching practices. AIKreate is launching version 1.0 of our AI education platform to the market. Our goal is to ensure that our platform is accessible to kids and schools from diverse backgrounds, empowering them with essential AI literacy skills. We also aim to gather valuable insights and collaborate with experts to refine and optimize our platform for maximum impact and effectiveness. This includes incorporating feedback from users and educators, implementing updates based on pilot program results, and continuously improving the platform to better serve the needs of our target audience. By actively engaging with stakeholders and leveraging data-driven approaches, we are confident in our ability to meet the needs of our users and achieve our objectives in preparation for pilot readiness within the next year.

Additionally, the team behind AIKreate has over seven years of experience teaching AI and a history of tech education spanning more than half a century with kids of different backgrounds and cultures in Spanish and English. AIKreate is a game that makes learning AI fun and engaging for students, encouraging active participation. AIKreate aims to make AI education accessible to a global audience, addressing the growing demand for AI skills. We aim to work with local partners to adapt the content of the app to the culture of the country or region.

As we continue to grow, we are committed to sharing our learnings and improving our platform to better serve priority learners. We are applying to the Learner//Meets//Future Challenge because we believe in the power of education to shape the future. Specifically, we see this challenge as an opportunity to scale our impact and reach more learners globally. As we continue to expand, we face various barriers, including financial constraints, technical challenges in scaling our platform, legal and regulatory considerations in different regions, and cultural adaptations to ensure our content resonates with diverse audiences. We hope that Solve and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation can provide us with the necessary resources, expertise, and networks to overcome these barriers. This could include financial support to enhance our platform's scalability, technical assistance to navigate regulatory landscapes, legal guidance to ensure compliance, and cultural insights to tailor our content effectively.
