Self-driving recycling bins made from recycled materials.
1. The problem I am committed to solve is the challenges in making circular economy possible, mainly the inability for consumers to easily give back the material they bought.
2. My solution is to widely collect resources sold to consumers and bring them back to the certain factories that will help recycle and reuse the materials for other purpose.
3. This idea will impact lives of millions because it will help curb the existential crisis of climate change.
The problem with the economy right now is the lack of a circular flow.
I am serving my city, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia
My solution works by providing a place for people to place materials.
- Increase production of renewable and recyclable raw materials for products and packaging
- Enable recovery and recycling of complex products
- Concept
- New business model or process
My solution is innovative because it focuses on the consumers which are substantially bigger than the producers. If the consumers can be given the opportunity to improve the circular economy initiatives, it will not be a difficult issue anymore.
The core technology used is AI which helps determine which areas to focus on in collecting resources. AI will be used to pinpoint hotspots that will have more people in order to collect more. Moreover, my smart bins will detect all sorts of information that is imperative in making my solution work effectively.
- Artificial Intelligence
- Machine Learning
- Big Data
- Internet of Things
My solution will help reduce waste in the environment,
- Children and Adolescents
- Elderly
- Rural Residents
- Low-Income
- Middle-Income
- Minorities/Previously Excluded Populations
- Refugees/Internally Displaced Persons

I am currently serving zero. In one year, I envisage to serve 100 people. In five years, I am foreseeing 1000 people.
My goal is to collect at least 10 tons of recyclables from neighbourhoods to factories.
Barriers are funding and transportation ideas.
I plan collaborate with electric truck startups in Malaysia to help with my idea. And AI and IOT companies to work on my smart bins.
- Not registered as any organization
Two.
We got the burning passion.
None.
The key customers and beneficiaries I am serving is the community in Kuala Lumpur. My product is an application that reminds people to recycle. On top of that, a delivery system that transport recyclable materials in hotspots to factories and industries that needs the resources for circular economy to skyrocket.
I am planning to be sustained through donations and grants.
I am applying because Solve will help me reach to greater heights and release my innovative idea to the world.
- Business model
- Technology
- Funding and revenue model
- Talent or board members
I would like to partner with the organizations in Malaysia that are shifting towards a sustainable and circular economy. I am planning to partner with them through emails and requesting for meetups with them.
AI will be indispensable in my solution. That is because AI techniques such as deep learning can help figure out how people recycle and also what makes them recycle more. Besides that, unsupervised learning techniques can help identify factors in encouraging people to recycle more.
My team will be able to use the prize in further developing the solution and increase the efficiency of the AI models used. Furthermore, with the prize, higher skilled AI engineers can be selected to help in maximising output.
Both of us are men so we are not eligible to apply.
My team will ensure the prize is used to benefit our idea. As for data, we will ask for advice from AI experts and data scientist or even do research online to maintain and ethically use the data.
