A Closed-loop Consumption social platform for Fashion
Fashion is now one of the most polluting industries in the world: the Fashion industry will use up to a quarter of world’s carbon budget by 2050 and emissions from this sector are estimated to rise by more than 60% by 2030. It’s an almost 3 trillion euro industry which produces more than 100 billion pieces of clothing produced and almost 80% of them are landfilled or incinerated globally each year. Only 1% of textile was recycled successfully in 2018.
However, it is estimated to reduce 30% environmental impact by extending the life of garments by an extra 9 months.
Lablaco is the world’s first Circular Fashion platform which rewards giving back. Donate your pre-owned fashion items, and earn discounts to shop from designers and creators worldwide. By offering a social, secure and interactive open platform, Lablaco endeavours to make the closed-loop consumption the new norm for everyone.
Fashion is considered now the 2nd most polluting industry in the world. Fast fashion and social media have dramatically changed consumer behaviour : more than 100 billion pieces of clothing produced every year and almost 80% of them are landfilled or incinerated globally each year. Only 1% of textile is recycled successfully.
Almost 85% people throw away clothes as there is no efficient way for disposal (even for brands!), 92ml tons of fashion waste generated each year worldwide - and it's still growing!
Why is that:c
1. Selling Online: only 20% of products resold successfully
2. Donation: hard to distribute it well without platform or technology, only 15% actually ends up being used, the most of it is shipped or sold to developing countries
3. Clothing Banks: Most of them are landfilled also due to distribution problems
4. Recycle: Mixed fabrics cannot be recycled, only 1% of garments recycled per year
5. Unsold stock of brands: mostly got incinerated
We believe the time is now, to break the “make, take, dispose” linear consumption toward a circular closed-loop consumption system.
Funny enough, clothing is the only item that every human being has to wear everyday, and even every moment.
3 trillion of the fashion industry are now waiting for a facilitated opportunity to easily shift to a more sustainable business model and approach to their desired clientele: Circular Economy - a closed-loop consumption is an urgent need.
Almost 3 billion people who can access to internet and have smartphones in the world, are able to use Lablaco as an open upcyling or recycling platform after use.
Our first target audience are 18-40 years’ old men and women who lives in main fashion capitals, with higher education, social responsibility awareness and spending power (bigger wardrobe as well, of course! :)). It is the same “tribe” of people who travel around the world, influenced by glocal trendsetters and key opinion leaders. They are usually digital savvy, eco-conscious, and willing to take the action at first and make the change for positive impact.
By targeting this group of people,
Lablaco is the world’s first Circular Fashion platform which rewards giving back.
Everyone can donate your pre-owned fashion items, and earn discounts to shop from designers and creators worldwide. By offering a social, secure and interactive open platform, Lablaco endeavours to make the closed-loop consumption the new norm for everyone.
Measurable positive impact: we have implemented an in-app Fashion Footprint Calculator, which will calculate the amount of Water and CO2 saved by recirculating each pre-owned fashion item. The positive impact will be shown on personal profiles, and easy to share with your friends and followers on social media. Be the first to take positive action starting now!
We are also launching #FashionFootprintChallenge Action Campaign, to invite the whole industry leaders, businesses, brands, influencers and community worldwide to join forces, supporting the United Nations global goals SDG12, responsible consumption and production, by recirculating 100.000 fashion items.
The result from the recirculated items saved from landfill will save an estimated 2.000 tons of CO2 (equivalent to: an average car could be driven for 8.87 years non-stop; the energy use of an average house could be met for 154 years; a 13-watt CF lightbulb could be lit for 17,562 years continuously!!) and 300 million Liters of Water (which represents 1.1 million years’ worth of drinking water for an average American!). Closed-loop shopping with GIVE and SHOP: we have the new interface with separate GIVE and SHOP page. From now it is much easier to donate and find cool giveaways from homepage, and refresh your wardrobe by browsing and shopping directly from beautiful content of brands and influencers.
- Demonstrate business models for extending the lifetime of products
- Pilot
- New business model or process
Measurable positive impact: after 9 months of researches, we have implemented an in-app Fashion Footprint Calculator, which will automatically calculate the amount of Water and CO2 saved by recirculating each pre-owned fashion item. The positive impact will be shown on personal profiles, and easy to share with your friends and followers on social media. Be the first to take positive action starting now!

Blockchain product traceability: our blockchain technology will trace automatically the product information over the value chain: from supply chain to retail, from purchase to post purchase, from first owner to the second, the third owner and so on.
Lablaco is the first AI and blockchain based Circular Social Platform vertical on Fashion, which bridges first-hand and second-hand markets and rewards re-circulation of pre-owned items at global level. Both businesses and individuals can easily manage to a new closed-loop consumption system.
Our key technology is to use Ethereum Blockchain tokens to trace merchandising in an open source system to help brands link directly with end users by tracing product information till post purchase.
All technology development is made in-house with development team, composed by CTO (joined Y Combinator in Silicon Valley successfully launched an application reached 1 ml users in 6 months) and 6 developers including Backend, Frontend, iOS/ Android, UX/UI, Data/AI and blockchain development.
