In today's hyper-connected world, many feel a profound sense of loneliness.The pandemic significantly impacted social and learning opportunities, particularly for children. During Covid-19, 76% of 5-16-year-olds experienced loneliness. Moreover, research reveals that 66% of Americans who felt lonely daily during childhood continue to feel isolated today. Alarmingly, kids spend 4-6 hours online without interacting with others, exacerbating feelings of isolation. Pandemic apart, globally, 250 million children are not in school, and hundreds of millions are in classrooms that lack adequate access to learning materials or disability-adapted infrastructure.
At the global level, collaboration often falls short, widening the gap in learning and educational opportunities. Although non-academic performance is hard to evaluate, the skills taught — in school or via other informal pathways — may not allow people to thrive in a rapidly changing world. Besides, there is no safe and child-friendly global social platform for children to make new friends and learn; nor is there a family-centered learning service for parents to make family friends worldwide. We need a platform that empowers human skills by leveraging technology ethically.
We are assisting millions of families worldwide, with the initial target group of the 281 million underserved migrants globally, as migrant families have a strong demand to socialize locally and adapt to new environments while staying connected with their roots and cultural heritage; they are bilingual or multilingual, bringing diversity and natural skill sets to the community. Due to parents' and children’s limited time and resources, there is a high demand for a versatile and comprehensive one-size-fits-all solution to bridge the gap among parents, educators, children, and the digital world. We need a revolutionary tool to help expand family social circles, create meaningful connections with diverse new friends around the world, and overcome language/culture barriers to be more confident with global competence! However, our tool can be used by billions of families and educators worldwide, bring more diversity and inclusion to create a more connected, safe, sustainable global community.

Our mission is to help children truly become global digital citizens with competitive multilingual, multicultural and multi-subject skills for children of all ages. We raise the digital competence of kids by implementing generative AI and Adaptive AI in Learning to empower them with 21st century skills combined with peer-support learning and learning by practicing methodology. We built Moi Panda so our kids could have a better chance to adapt to new cultures while staying connected to their own cultural heritage, make diverse friends all around the world anytime and anywhere, and learn to build a healthy relationship between individuals and the digital world.

Notably, these migrants exhibit high purchasing power, contributing to a significant rise in remittances over recent decades—from $126 billion in 2000 to $702 billion in 2020. Despite initial predictions of a substantial decline in international remittances due to COVID-19, the actual decrease in 2020 was a modest 2.4% from the global total in 2019.
Moi Panda has been collaboratively designed and developed with users from its inception, undergoing continuous iterations based on valuable user feedback. Notably, the founding team consists of Moi Panda users themselves, ensuring the product is thoroughly tested with their families and friends, and later expanded to a diverse group of early adopters. The commitment to user involvement extends to the app's ongoing development, where user feedback is actively sought for ideas on improvement, new missions, game features, and other enhancements aligned with our mission statement. The founder Feiya Long started as a solo founder when her son was 3Y and her daughter was 1Y. As a female founder and an immigrant in Finland, nothing is easy. But she built a committed team with strong and complementary skills, made it to global renowned programs, attracted supportive angel investors and received public grants. Most importantly, her kids grew more mentally healthy and happier and they are now multilingual and multicultural due to the positive outcomes of this venture. They are proud of me and Moi Panda.

Our product has been co-designed/developed with users from day one, and has been iterated

Most importantly, the funding team are the users of Moi Panda themselves, the product has been designed and tested with their families and friends, and later expanded to a wide range of early adopters. As the app continues to develop, we actively seek feedback and involvement from users to help generate ideas for improvement, new missions, new game features, and anything else that may further our mission statement. This is done through survey and feedback review, as well as an analysis of data related to user behaviour/engagement to determine which areas of the app are not realising their full potential, and which are thriving and could be expanded.

The app has been iterated with 4 completed versions and used by thousands of users. The product was piloted in Nordics, and the UK with great success. It has been tested by 3000+ users in the US, Dubai and Asian countries with positive feedback which addressed strong demands.
The app is available on both Apple and Android devices, and accessible to anyone with a wifi connection. Our app knows no geographic bounds or borders, we encourage global citizenship and multicultural learning afterall. With that in mind, our user interface is simple and practical and designed with minimum language barrier as we use visual graphics to engage users. The app is also amenable to different age groups of young learners with different levels of complexity, and has a parental/familial assistant component. The app could also be used proactively, e.g., before the family moves to a new city or country so that the child/children has/have already friends in the new place when moving there.
