The whole world suffers from the difficulties of waste sorting and treatment, as environmental and health life is constantly deteriorating due to the scourge of solid and inorganic waste disposal in the seas and oceans.

Good Waste company innovated a special container to automatically sort and process the waste by type of waste.

Jordan is an emerging and stable economy in the Middle East. The growing industrialization and high population growth rate has led to rapid increase in solid waste generation in the country which has, in turn, put increasing pressure in waste management infrastructure. Around 2 million tons of municipal waste is generated in Jordan each year with most of it diverted to unsanitary landfills and dumpsites. Improper solid waste disposal is leading to public health risks, adverse environmental impacts as well as socio-economic problems. 

The predominant fraction in Jordanian MSW is organic matter which makes up as much as 60 percent of the solid waste stream. Being a relatively modest Middle Eastern country, the per capital waste generation In Jordan is 0.9 kg per day. Municipal waste in the country has steadily increased from 1.5 million tons in 2000 to about 2 million tons in 2012 which is posing a serious challenge to municipalities in big cities like Amman and Aqaba.

 Good Waste company innovated a special container to automatically sort and process the waste by type of waste. It identifies the type through cameras and sensors connected to an artificial intelligence system and identifies these types (aluminum, iron, plastic, paper and glass) Which saves waste to recycling companies. This solution ensures that everyone can use the container without awareness of the screening mechanism or its reasons because it returns them valuable financial and kind prizes when throwing any kind of waste inside it by scanning the QR code that appears on the display board using the waste application Which is intended for smart phones, because all waste dumped inside the container is sold to waste recycling companies as raw materials ready for recycling. The containers are of relatively small size with a capacity of up to eight times the conventional container due to waste treatment, the container is connected to a smart technology system that keeps track of its capacity and observes its work. In addition, it is environmentally friendly and operates on the solar system. It is also used as advertising fronts for awareness campaigns or commercials available through the composite display screens of the container, allowing companies and institutions to publish their promotional campaigns or Awareness in hard-to-reach places and advertising in order to provide a material return to ensure the sustainability of the project.

Firstly, we found a way to identify the type of material by sensors connected to an electronic system on a computer board, through which the type of waste is determined then it has been ordered to choose the special container for this type then the small cart move towards the container and dump the waste in it.
Secondly, we put a digital pad showing QR code when throwing anything inside the smart container. This code enables users to scan it through a phone application to reward them as E-points they can later replace with real products or money.

Thirdly, we have developed a new business model, we put screens on both sides of the container, but the smart container not for sell, so we will sell ads on these screens interfaces.

   Sensors are mainly used to identify the types of materials. Cameras also depict all waste to make big data and then train the machine to image recognition through artificial intelligence.

We manufacture smart containers that return rewards to users because they dumped their waste inside. These rewards ensure the people to use of smart containers, the smart container sorting waste, waste sorting increases recycling, reducing the amount of waste dumped to landfills or seas and oceans, leading to better environmental and health lives on all levels.

We still in Prototyping stage, but we calculated the number of beneficiaries in first year, about 30000 universities and school student because now we are targeting this segment.

Our business model is mainly based on selling ads in different ways, including Google ads, and other ad interfaces on both sides of the machine.

It also features secondary revenue sources that cover the costs of prizes for beneficiaries, machinery for companies and transportation expenses through the sale of sorted waste to factories and machine leasing for companies.

Cooperation is the best means of financial sustainability. We plan to submit a memorandum of understanding to the Ministry of Higher Education in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment to spread the machinery to public and private universities, as well as through long-term contracts with large companies (International Airport Group, Manaseer Group, Kurdi Group... etc).
