Education nowadays is mostly focused on academics and partly on extracurriculars. While being accessible in developed countries, there are many other countries where there is high percentage of illiteracy rates especially amongst women. Here in Mauritius, the main challenges that children are facing is the lack of resources and access to materials that are causing barriers to their educational pathway. There is an illiteracy of 87.01 globally and in Mauritius it is about 92%. The main factor to that is more and more adults are growing without having access to proper education and having no means to educate their children in return which creates a vicious cycle.
ModsGen aims to help accomodate the needs of the children who require access to a quality education. We educate and sensitise children who do not have enough money and provide them free tuitions. We are a team of 2 people for now, me and my aunt, who tutor secondary school children in need and help them get an education pathway in Mauritius. We also believe that the children's needs have to be met. Therefore, we create surveys in order to ensure that the students are comfortable and at ease in sharing their challenges with us. We then provide tailored education tuitions to these students and are at their service physically and virtually. We believe that schools as well have to provide students with surveys about their needs on a frequent basis and what changes the schools can provide them so that they have access to a better education. Our initiative is to understand the student first and what they require academically, spiritually and individually.
In Mauritius, many students are facing constraints in having access to a proper secondary education. We aim to reach these students on platforms such as newspapers or on social medias to gather info and understand their perspectives. Most of the time, they are from low income families and have failed several classes previously. They live in unfavourable conditions and have difficult life situations such as having abusive parents and being unaware about their own rights.
My aunt and I have a profound understanding about our students' situation. We are aware about our students' struggles and their determination to find the light at the end of the tunnel. Our humanity drives us to bring a positive change to the lives of our students in order to guide them towards a better future. We are solidaristic with our students in providing them a lifelong education. We strive to improve the education in our local community and to empower the youth about their rights and opportunities. We contribute to our community by listening and responding to our students' needs and create lifelong meaningful impacts with them. We hope to create a positive environment and share our legacy with our students.

My aunt and I are already engaged in our community to educate and empower the youth. We have helped several students in their education pathway already.
We are in need of an approach to guide us further in our goal to end the education crisis in our local community and around the world. If we are able to reach more people, that would be opportunity to target a larger audience and address the pertinent educational issue to them and discuss our solution.

By amending educational priorities to students' needs first, it shows that the student comes first. Educational providers mainly focus on academics without really paying attention the students' accommodation. They focus mostly on academic performance while highlighting what the students really need. Our aim is to significantly promote awareness and sensitisation about the students' well being first so they can contribute to society and reduce the illiteracy rate globally. We would like to reach a larger audience so that each one puts especially educational institutions the welfare of the student first then academics.
By providing less fortunate students with a quality education, we aim to reduce the illiteracy rate in our community. Thus, as the students whom we taught grow up, they will have more opportunities available to sustain themselves and for the further generation as well. As we reach a larger audience, globally the illiteracy rate will drop and which will contribute to ending the education crisis all around the world.
Firstly, I would like to improve access to education to the less fortunate and measure the progress by keeping records and engaging users with educational content. Their career and school enrolment can also be used to track the goal outline.
Secondly, by encouraging economic resilience, a decline in unemployment and improvements of financial services can be measured as a to gauge progress.
And lastly, the goal is to be an advocate for diversity, equality, and inclusivity in different areas of society. Success could be gauged by monitoring enhancements in the presence and involvement of underrepresented groups in decision-making, decreases in prejudice and partiality, and growth in social unity and support.
We intend to use an AI application to allow educational content to be more within the reach of our students. It is still a prototype however. This will allow them to conduct their research while interacting with other students on the same platform. Moreover we use traditional educational system to teach our students who have access to a large variety of book contents be it online or in local libraries.
