Hundreds of children in Mexico have social, neurological, and educational disadvantages, often because they have a disability, and have not been treated effectively. Autism is a life condition that cannot be seen with the naked eye. It is a neurodevelopmental disorder that requires extra support from health and education professionals, in Oaxaca the spaces that provide low-cost therapies are limited, children with autism who reach the age of 12 are no longer accepted in the Autism center of the city of Oaxaca, because they do not have the capacity to receive more children and give them various therapies such as language therapy and psychological support, in regular schools there is little knowledge of how to treat children with autism, which is why our The project seeks to contribute to the well-being and improve the quality of life of people with autism of school age, through implementing workshops both in various schools and digitally.

It is aimed at people living with autism, neuro-divergents, disabilities or different abilities, their families, and student society in the state of Oaxaca.

In a positive way, we seek to contribute to the best in communication, skills and abilities to have a better quality of life for people who live in a state of vulnerability.

Who are they and how are they currently underserved? The population of young people aged 12 or older is neglected in the autism center of the city of Oaxaca, it does not have enough staff to continue with therapies, many children require personal pedagogical support and cannot cover the costs for their families, many families are few resources, and autism requires an interdisciplinary intervention plan.
  It will be addressed with workshops on various topics aimed at the neurodivergent population, awareness and communication workshops in schools, in particular hybrid, in-person and online workshops addressed by professionals who support the progress of students who require extra support such as reading. writing, communication, supporting your cognitive and executive functions.

We are a group that constantly seeks to support people with autism, learning problems, we have experience, support networks to promote learning, our project arose in a pandemic, we have given favorable results with children and young people by making adaptations, promoting inclusion social.

There are almost no projects offered like ours, which seeks to provide a response
favorable, our team is passionate and committed, we want to bring inclusive workshops to some schools in the regions, the coast, the Isthmus, as well as the areas near the city of Oaxaca where we detect that there are students with autism and learning problems.
We organize our organization with schedules of activities, planned specific content, as well as objectives and bring workshops to schools and communities at a time previously scheduled.

We have already carried out a couple of pilots of the workshop project and obtained good results, we have developed small-scale projects that promote children's learning, improve their socio-emotional skills, I consider that we are in a growth stage, we do not have a list of donors, We have contributed materials to some members of the collective that we already had, we have carried out collaborative workshops, we know that we can reach many children and young people, who live with a certain disadvantage, we want to empower their minds, give them the tools that will help them have a better quality of life , the ADOS, ABAS autism test, among others, will be applied to measure the improvements of the Workshops.

We have already taught workshops, impacting 25 families with children with autism, Down Syndrome, and disabilities.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE:

Conduct Inclusive Educational Workshops on Autism in various schools such as primary, secondary, and high school in different locations in the state of Oaxaca, in person and online.
One objective is to do a face-to-face workshop in a school every month, and monitor online for students who have communication and learning difficulties, rely on small group or individual sessions every Tuesday and Thursday, as well as interact with relatives of people living with autism or neurodivergence, scheduling activities to evaluate activities.

We seek to create a website, with didactic, educational content, Inclusive Online Workshops where people with autism and neuro divergence, and families feel accompanied with sessions and topics that favor their personal and socio-emotional growth and achieve better communication.

We have always created an environment of respect, inclusive, safe, there are staff of different religions, different ways of thinking, there is camaraderie, we always speak truthfully and honestly to each other, everyone is responsible for their actions, for their work.

We do not have an exact model, we use the contributions we have received to give workshops, sometimes we have given workshops in marginalized communities, we are looking for donors to support us so we can continue holding inclusive and educational workshops.

The way we finance it is through donations, raffles or small contributions that the general public buys tickets, some friends have been volunteers when there are events, the fees will be charged at a low cost, there are children and families who have few economic resources.
