Bottle Cap Currency App

Problem that is to be solved. 

This idea started from dissatisfaction with the misuse
of disposable products or products with low usability.
This includes things such as lanyard, PET bottles etc.

Although the bottles and lids are made of recyclable materials,
they are made of different types of plastic that requires them to be
separated at the time of being crushed during the recycling process. 

2. The solution proposing is using Bottle Cap Currency App (BCCA), an app to tracks the wastage: 
-Money Validation - Bottle Caps Validaor.
-Exchange Money - Convert and rates the value of the Physical and Digital Currency Botlle Caps.

Yearly 3.1 million tons of PET are produced only in North America (Source: GBI Research). Worldwide this number is scary. With this information we can imagine the environmental problem we are experiencing due to the quantity of this material dispensed in the environment.

Although the bottles and lids are made of recyclable materials, they are made of different types of plastic that requires them to be separated at the time of being crushed during the recycling process. Because they are smaller in size, the caps are often lost after the bottles have been used, and end up thrown in several places and often even in the stomach of animals. 

The consumer to collect these bottle caps and store them in dispensers such as “piggy banks” provided by the participating companies. When collecting a considerable amount of material, the consumer must take the material to pre-established points of exchange, or even to the recyclable collection machines where this possibility exists. The dispensers may receive 50, 100 or 500 bottle caps depending on their type.

When delivering the collected material, the consumer will receive the value of each of the bottle caps in cash, points or discounts, according to the contract to signed at the time of the project’s execution. The collected bottle caps target anyone who is interested, being plastic recycling companies, associations that make handicrafts, or even the companies that produce the drinks or the bottles.

This idea is to utilize an app to track how people can turns a small format plastic waste into something of value, so that the return of a relevant material to its initial form or to a reuse is easier.

The features and technology should be able to do the following: 

Money Validation - Bottle Caps Validator.
Exchange Money - Convert and rates the value of the Physical and Digital Currency Botlle Caps.
Corporate Network - Agglutinative of companies that invest money in coin caps.

BCCA is initially a project that mixes the product that already exists with a virtual system that generates a large chain of benefits.

The value imputation on the bottle cap will generate a chain of potential new values (and this is using apps to track the progress).

The type of innovation values will be tracked as per following: 

Market values: Partners will be seen as precursors and / or important in a market that is being created focused on social and environmental preservation. Metrics used would be amount of impact, 

Financial Values: With a wide chain of beneficiaries all consumers will be able to take advantage of the currency of exchange and can make use of it as they wish best.

I am thinking to use AI to differentiate different cap sizes and create pattern of incentive systems that can spur behaviour change among people. Basically, the idea of sorting out bottle caps was not new, but the method can be more innovative in terms to do matching
