PukPun Organic Smoothie, the Sustainable Journey.

We aim to solve problems in urban society, focusing on health issues affected by chemical use in agriculture, lack of nutrition and unhealthy lifestyle. Another main concern is environmental problems in urban areas including soil and water contamination caused by toxic chemicals in pesticides, overflowing waste and air pollution.

Our solution is called PukPun, a green business model initiated in Bangkok,Thailand. Our core product is organic healthy smoothies pre-ordered by customers through our website (www.pukpun.com). We support local organic farming by purchasing organic produce to make smoothies daily. Then we deliver them fresh with reusable packaging to customers by bicycle.

1.Health issues caused by :

• Chemical use in agriculture
  In Thailand, 40% of fruits and vegetables sold in modern trade were found contaminated with pesticide residue.
• Unhealthy dietary and lifestyle
  Most urban people rely on industrial food and unhealthy lifestyle. Lack of diverse nutrition from fresh food and lack of exercise, lead to Non-communicable Diseases (NCDs).
  75% of deaths in Thailand is a result of NCDs, higher than the global average!
• Ageing society
  In 2021, Thailand will become a complete ageing society with an expected number of senior citizens at 20% of the total population. Most of the elderly face digestion difficulties, leading to nutritional deficiency.

2.Environmental issues caused by :

•  Overflowing plastic waste
  Thailand is the sixth-largest contributor of plastic in the oceans, contributing between 150k to 400k tons of plastic waste a year.
  20% of waste in Bangkok is from plastic.
• Overflowing food waste
  Thais generate about 1.14 kg of waste per person per day. 64% of that waste is food waste.
• Air Pollution
  Bangkok is on the list of the world's top most air-polluted cities.
  The transport sector is the largest source of air pollution, affected severely on people’s health.

1. Farmers
Especially Thai local farmers. We are aware of their pain in industrial agriculture, chemical business cold war, and products' judgement from modern trade and customers, focusing on perfect appearance and shelf size. Despite their safety and high nutrition, ugly organic produce is not selected!

Organic farming needs labor, time, effort, and fair price market. Our solution supports organic farmers with fair price helping them earn sufficient income from their high quality products. When demand of consumption increases, there will be more and more organic farmers. 

2. Urban people

• People in city areas with a busy life, who lack for time ; high nutrition from fresh food ; access to a diverse and safe food source.
• Unhealthy people with diseases caused by unhealthy food and lifestyle.
• The elderly with digestion difficulties, leading to nutritional deficiency.  

We provide high nutrition in form of ready-made organic smoothies by delivering right to their door every morning. We promote healthy dietary and lifestyle to prevent health problems from the starting point.

3. Everyone on this planet
Today our world is facing critical environmental problems. We hope our solution can be another model to help solve the world’s pain.

Our solution is called PukPun, a green business model initiated in Bangkok,Thailand since 2014. 

Our core product is organic healthy smoothies.
Customers need to make a pre-order through our website www.pukpun.com one week in advance.
We calculate quantity of raw materials according to actual usage.
Then purchase organic produce from Thai local farmers, wash and clean them with ozone cleaning system (non-chemical wash process), and produce smoothies daily in early morning.
Smoothies are filled in reusable glass jars, packed in temperature-controlled packaging. Then delivered to customers by PukPun Super Rider Team (electric bike project is coming up soon).
On the next day, we deliver the new smoothies, collect the previous jars, and bring them back to our kitchen.
The returned jars will be washed and cleaned with ozone cleaning system before starting their duty on the next day.

• Overflowing Plastic waste >> By using reusable glass jar with jar-return system, we help reduce single-use plastic waste.
• Overflowing Food waste >> With a pre-order system, we calculate exact amount of raw materials according to actual usage to avoid food loss waste.
• Air Pollution >> We deliver our products to consumers by bicycle. We promote clean energy transport and delivery system for the future.
• Chemical use in agriculture >> We support organic plant farmers with fair price helping them to earn sufficient income from their high quality products. When demand of consumption increases, there will be more and more organic farmers. And the more organic farming is, the better the environment will be.

Big Data
We use Big Data technology such as ELK Stack (Elastic search) for visualizing orders and customers. Through our website, we collect customers' health information such as allergies or diseases to customize the most suitable smoothies for our customers.

Internet of Things
We use IOT for delivery process on mobile devices for tracking location and delivery progress. Our riders who deliver products to customers will take a picture and report back to the headquarter via our mobile application to ensure the complete and successful delivery.

Behavioral Design
We support circular economy by designing :
- products with reusable packaging (customers need to wash and return to us)
- production process with pre-order system to avoid food waste
- delivery process by bicycle to avoid causing pollution

Social Network
We mainly promote our brand, reach and maintain our customers as well as finding alliances through social media. 

Within the next year, we hope to see our business model grow in other cities around Thailand.

Within the next 5 years, we would like to expand our model to other countries in Southeast Asia.

With Financial barrier, our business growth is blocked in terms of production capacity and technology to support growth on a larger scale.

We plan to expand our business and reach new markets to increase sales revenue and seek for funding from organizations and investors.

Sirilak Mahajuntanaporn, CEO & Founder, had been sick for 8 years and fully recovered from all diseases by changing dietary and designing a healthy life. She aims to share this proven and practical know-how through a green business model to encourage people to take care of their health, create a healthy community and a healthy world together.

Our team consists of different people with diverse skills, experiences and backgrounds. With this diversity of thoughts and points of view, we can have a wide perspective and creative solutions to any problem.

As we all have the same belief that this green business model is possible, our team dedicate ourselves to make it become true and move forward to sustainable growth.

We plan to expand our business by improving quality of our core products as well as widening range of products and broadening our market target on a larger scale.
Our main revenue will come from selling these healthy products and healthcare concepts.

We also seek for funding from organizations and investors who truly understand and support sustainable business.
