Here’s how Cool AI works:
Cool AI for Curriculum - allows the internal Cool education team to align existing resources to multiple curricula. The choice of curricula at this stage is V8, V9, Victorian Curriculum and IB. Educators will be able to select a resource, view the curriculum mapping and then download the resources to teach in the classroom.
Cool AI for Educators - This will be a suite of FIVE AI tools available on the Cool website for our education members to use. This project introduces AI-driven Dynamic Lesson Plan Generation tools, designed to empower educators with the ability to craft flexible lesson plans that address the varied learning styles and needs of students within a single classroom. They will use existing resources as a starting point and be able to create varied activities, using four AI tools (Factsheet generator, Activity generator, Rubric generator and Quiz generator) to fit all the different types of learners that they have in their classroom. In addition, they will have The Cool AI Library which offers a comprehensive storage solution for educators, enabling them to save, reference, and modify the resources for future use, while also providing the functionality to print or download worksheets and factsheets for classroom use, and the ability to create revisions of previously created content for continuous improvement and customisation.

Cool has built a prototype for curriculum alignment called Cool AI for Curriculum. The tool is built using Laravel and Open AI API, specifically the assistant API. It uses a reference database of the different Australian Curricula and reference database of the existing lessons on our platform (cool.org) and it will find and align a single lesson to various curricula.
Currently we are in the stage of testing the prototype, and adjusting the AI based on those testing outcomes. The solution is able to successfully align to different curricula, and we are testing the accuracy of the alignment - so far we’ve done one round of testing. No one served at this stage, as we are in the prototyping stage.
The second stage and scope of Cool AI which is Cool AI for Educators, has a completed scope and awaits funding to commence execution.
