Fun & Fit Gymnastics Program Instructor and Student Training Systems

Creating fitness, self-esteem, and achievement is what the Fun & Fit Gymnastics Program is all about. Unlike competitive sports programs that limit success to the talented few, our "PERSONAL BEST" PHILOSOPHY and progressive curriculum help every child feel like a winner.
Gymnastics develops strength, flexibility, agility, balance, coordination, and fitness. Gymnastics is the foundation for all sports and movement. Children must develop physical competency early in life to succeed and be safe learning more advanced skills as they grow. Doing so can help develop confidence, competence, and positive self-esteem.
Preschool and recreational gymnastics can be taught with minimal investment in mats and equipment. It can be taught indoors or outside. All that is required is a qualified trained instructor.
Unfortunately, having been a gymnast doesn't qualify someone to teach, and very few trained instructors are available.
The Fun & Fit Gymnastics Program was developed to train teachers with little or no gymnastics experience. It includes a preschool curriculum for children aged 3 to 5 years old, a recreational girls, and a recreational boys curriculum for children aged 6 to 16 years old.
The program includes 540 “core” skills in 17 level courses, plus an additional 800+ games and progressions, and 250 sequential lesson plans. Users can add their own skills, courses, and lessons. Hundreds of youth organizations globally have used Fun & Fit since the program was launched in 1991. Originally available on DVD, the program is now available online on two different platforms:
- LEAP LEARNING – a learning management system for instructor training
- SMART MOVES – a lesson planning and skill tracking platform for student training
Success is all about using a curriculum of short-term and long-range 'achievable' goals and making lessons fun and exciting. Traditional skills are deconstructed into achievable progressions that allow children to succeed quickly and often as they climb the ladder from simple to more complex challenges.
Jeff Lulla, the author of the program, has a lifetime of experience as a gymnast, coach, program director, and owner of multiple youth fitness businesses. He is also a USA Gymnastics University Instructor who has authored curriculum for that national governing body, and lectures internationally.
Users of the Fun & Fit Gymnastics Program also enjoy live mentoring from Jeff Lulla both online and on-site. His website is www.FunAndFitGymnastics.com
The youth fitness crisis is growing. The usual solution offered is youth sports. Unfortunately, it is the nature of competition to produce more losers than winners and those children who most need exercise are often the first to fail and quit.
Redefining winning as Personal Best instead of better than others and implementing a progressive teaching system that reinforces this philosophy can help keep children actively engaged.
It begins with training people who love to teach but require the skills to be successful in organizing and delivering effective classes. This is done in a step-by-step manner with level courses specific to the age and level of the students being taught.
Making the training available is easy - all that is required is an internet connection and a web browser.
Anyone working with children who wants to add or improve their youth activities programming will benefit from having access to the Fun & Fit Gymnastics Program.
Fun & Fit provides detailed instruction with videos on what to teach and how in a progressive step-by-step format. The same training content is available in both LEAP Learning and Smart Moves.
In LEAP Learning, assignable courses include comprehension questions and assessments. Certificates of Completion are provided for each of the 17 level courses.
In SMART MOVES, lesson plans can be created, edited, and archived. Students and classes can be entered or uploaded from a CSV file.
The Fun & Fit Gymnastics Program has been used by gymnastics programs globally since 1991 and is currently available online to anyone with a subscription.
Jeff Lulla, the author, sold his gymnastics clubs in Southern California in December of 2019 and is now focused on providing support and training to his subscribers both online and on-site. He also speaks at conferences and teaches courses for USA Gymnastics and other national governing bodies.

- Scale
After 50 years in the gymnastics industry and 35 years as the owner of multiple youth fitness and gymnastics businesses, I am now looking for ways to help organizations and communities working with children through education.
The following background information about myself is on my website at www.funandfitgymnastics.com;
Jeff Lulla, Founder of Fun & Fit Gymnastics, was a competitive gymnast, instructor, coach, Head Coach, Program Director, and for 35 years, owner of multiple successful recreational gymnastics clubs. Jeff received the USA Gymnastics Business Leader of the Year Award and serves as one of their Business Ambassadors. He is also a University Instructor for USAG with over 25 years of experience teaching their Safety Certification course and authoring curriculum for their preschool Kinder Accreditation and school-age Hands-On Training courses.
He has presented at USA, Canada, and Australia gymnastics industry congresses and the Cal Elite Summit personal development conference on business, safety, technology, class behavior management, employment practices, preschool and recreational education for all ages. He has consulted for clients in China, Vietnam, Australia, the UK, the USA, and Canada. His Fun & Fit Gymnastics Program instructor training and lesson planning system has been licensed to hundreds of gym clubs globally since 1991 and is now available online in both the LEAP Learning and Smart Moves platforms.
The Fun & Fit Gymnastics Program includes 1,400 skills, drills, games, and progressions with videos and 250 sequential lesson plans. There are 5 levels of Preschool, 6 levels of Girls and 6 levels of Boys gymnastics including tumbling, bars, trampoline, rings, balance beam, mini-tramp, vault, and dance as well as warm-ups and games.
I believe my program can help educate teachers of children to successfully provide them with quality youth fitness programs. The cost would be minimal for subscription access to my platforms (allowing me to pay costs for maintaining and developing the platforms).
I would personally enjoy helping educate more teachers, especially in areas where there is little else available for the children. And I would be willing to assist with mentoring my subscribers as a way of building a larger legacy of happy and healthy children.
- Public Relations (e.g. branding/marketing strategy, social and global media)
The Personal Best philosophy is not often used in dealing with teaching. In fact it requires those who believe in the 'BELL CURVE' to re-think their approach to education. By that I mean, instead of being focused on teaching a skill and expecting some to succeed and others to fail, while most are average, the focus becomes creating a successful experience for ALL students. This requires the skill being taught to be deconstructed into appropriate steps for each individual learner based on their aptitude.
When you create achievable goals and children experience success quickly and often it changes their self-concept.
If you try and succeed repeatedly you learn to expect success. That's called CONFIDENCE. And someone with confidence tries harder and longer without giving up.
We all tend to create outcomes based on our expectations. The goal is to help create positive expectations.
My Fun & Fit Gymnastics Program is based on this concept.
My impact goal is Happy, healthy, skillful children!
This can be tracked in the Smart Moves platform as teachers check off skills when learned and levels passed.
LEAP Learning is a learning management system that allows Directors to add users (learners), and assign courses and progressions with deadlines for completion. Assessments verify learning is standardized.
SMART MOVES is a lesson planning platform that allows the creation and filing of lessons. It also provides for students and classes to be entered or uploaded so skills learned can be checked off when introduced, achieved, and awarded.
Live Mentoring is provided online using Zoom.

Approximately 3 people, not counting the platform support teams.
Over 30 years.
After selling my businesses where the Fun & Fit Gymnastics Program was developed over 35 years I now have no employees and manage the system with the help of a consulting firm and the platform providers.
I am currently working as a consultant providing support services to my subscribers both online and on-site. I am also providing educational services to the National Governing Body for Gymnastics in the USA.
- Organizations (B2B)
The program I'm providing has already been developed and is available and in use by many organizations currently. At this time my submission is less about income and more about providing a service to those who can benefit from it. Compensation in the form of subscription revenue is primarily to sustain and grow the program through marketing and public relations.
On a personal note:
I retired after selling my businesses and continue to serve in supporting other organizations through consulting and sharing my proven educational systems developed over decades.
