RenewCykle is solving the problem of irregular electricity supply plus plastic and e-waste pollution by providing access to renewable energy using Solar powered energy kits made from recycled plastic and e-waste.

Over 500,000 tonnes of discarded electronic appliances are processed in Nigeria annually, threatening both the health of people in the informal recycling industry and the nation's environment. Globally, plastic pollution plagues our arable lands, rivers and oceans and causes drastic effects on marine life, the ozone layer and the environment. While, over hundred million people in Nigeria lack access to reliable, clean and affordable energy to power their homes and businesses. This is majorly caused by improper education on circular economy practices and recycling methods.More So, expensive renewable energy alternatives repel low income people from accessing clean energy despite abundance of solar energy provided by sunlight in Nigeria.

Currently, our project has targeted an addressable market of 10,000 University undergraduate students whom we surveyed. Our survey reveals that 70% of them need affordable energy kits to power their light bulbs at night,charge their mobile devices and would love to volunteer to source for the plastic and electronic waste raw materials from daily generated waste in their lodges. The Solar Powered Energy kit is very affordable based on availability of and cheapness of raw materials used in producing them thereby making them accessible to consumers and giving them the opportunity to join the fight against a linear economy, plastic and electronic waste pollution
