ChocoMarket
It is a tool for 90,000 peasant families to stop growing coca to replace it with cocoa in Colombia access a platform in which we use the technology (block chain) to make traceability of the grain and receive a premium quality, to connect in a marketplace with buyers, and to use the waste for fertilizers of their crops and also convert it into activated carbon to sell it to clean water sources in mining processes. We help poor families, strengthen the schemes that confront the global problem of illicit drug production and strengthen circular economy processes for a more sustainable world. We are working with the IBM team in Colombia from whom we received a grant of USD 120,000 for one year represented in credits from its platform to develop technology and we have already generated alliances with the government and the chocolate industry in the country.
Many of the peasant families that entered the government program to replace their coca crops with cocoa crops do not have the tools to connect with buyers: if they do not have anyone to buy their crops, they can regretfully replant coca with the need to produce income for them. sustainability of their families. In addition to connecting these farmers with national and international buyers interested in buying Colombian cocoa, reconcomium for its quality, we also work with these families on good agricultural practices in a complementary way. On the other hand, cocoa husk waste is used in circular economy processes to generate additional income by producing activated carbon; a product of natural origin to replace the activated carbon that is being produced from petroleum, in the future we hope to open markets also for the activated carbon used in the production of cosmetics.
On the one hand, we worked to generate opportunities for peasants to be forced to plant coca in the path of legality. On the other hand, we seek to generate a socially responsible product in the field. In addition, we are convinced that this technological tool can be scaled to other crops in the future.
Our solution creates a new product to solve an existing need in the market but from a new raw material. In addition, the platform with the use of blockchain will be able to serve for crops of any kind anywhere in the world.
- Increase production of renewable and recyclable raw materials for products and packaging
- Enable recovery and recycling of complex products
- Prototype
- New application of an existing technology
Our project uses all the possible elements: the technology so that the primary product of small producers has high quality standards that represent them better prices for their products. It has the potential to connect them with buyers anywhere in the world through an e-commerce platform. And finally, we decided to accompany the platform with an offline training strategy so that what they normally rejected could be used in the production of a fertilizer for their crops rich in potassium, an element that serves for the quality of the fruit, and also in the production of a vegetable origin product to clean water sources in gold and silver mines instead of using petroleum derivatives.
Bloclchain is used as a fundamental technological tool, where both the producers in the field and those who are part of the project are constantly introducing information at every moment of the production cycle where the fruit is intervened. Buyers can follow up on a crop that is of interest to serve them as they are offering a cocoa of the highest quality.

We have relations of trust established with producers from Arauca, Santander and Nariño, some of the areas of Colombia most affected by the war, where there are many farmers participating in processes of voluntary substitution of coca for cocoa. We also have an interdisciplinary team among economists, chemists and engineers.
At the moment we have an alliance with:
- IBM: technology multinational.
-House Luker: the second largest chocolate company in the country.
