TaleTree and The Emerald Forest
- United States
- For-profit, including B-Corp or similar models
Despite the inherent creative potential of children, the current educational system fails to nurture and sustain their innovative capabilities. Research by George Land, commissioned by NASA, reveals a sharp decline in creative genius labels from childhood to adulthood, with only 2% retaining this level of creativity. Today's school curriculum, primarily focused on traditional subjects like reading, writing, and math, is influenced by political agendas, neglecting comprehensive learning opportunities. Moreover, the pervasive pressure of grades, competition, and comparison exacerbates mental health issues among children, with global reports indicating alarming rates of anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem, leading to suicide becoming the 4th leading cause of death for 15-29 year olds.
TaleTree, together with parents, teachers, businesses and organizations, fosters the creativity of kids aged 5-12. It is this collaborative effort that nurtures young imaginations to help them reach their full potential.
TaleTree keeps children engaged with open ended Challenges and moderated Camps in TaleTree Village. Once a month, guest speakers with established backgrounds visit and tell their stories to ignite children’s curiosities and prepare them for the exciting challenges ahead. This list of experts include rocket scientists, movie makers, a child prodigy, dog trainers, authors, musicians, toy designers, and much much more.
Our solution, TaleTree's Emerald Forest, is a metaverse dedicated to fostering social responsibility and inspiring children to lead purposeful lives. For/non-profit organizations can participate by setting global challenges that raise awareness for their causes.
We have partnered with Dignified Children International, a non-profit organization in Kenya and are eager to expand and execute a global challenge.
Our platform is utilized by a diverse range of users:
Children aged 5 to 12: We nurture their creative brilliance so it persists into adulthood.
Parents and Teachers: We offer a secure platform for publishing and archiving their child’s artwork. Parents also gain valuable insights into their child’s interests and the challenges they tackle, helping them stay connected.
Nonprofit Organizations: TaleTree offers a platform to harness the potential of young children in raising awareness for their causes. It's a chance to instill in children the values of good citizenship.
For-profit Companies: For-profit companies can utilize our platform to bolster their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives and raise brand awareness by engaging in socially responsible activities.
In The Emerald Forest, everyone is in service of developing the leaders of tomorrow.
As a team of neurodivergent and neurodiverse individuals who personally faced challenges in standardized education, we're driven by a shared mission: to provide future generations of children with greater opportunities to develop their creativity and explore their unique talents without limitations.

At TaleTree, we believe in the power of community and collaboration to drive growth and scale. Our platform thrives on the active participation of all its stakeholders – parents, children, educators, companies, and organizations. It's through collective action that we can ignite and sustain a movement in education.
We've created an effective solution for engaging children and are now eager to expand its impact while promoting collaboration among all stakeholders to address a global challenge. As a movement, we rely on the collective efforts of parents, educators, and both for-profit and nonprofit organizations to advance together.
This year, our key priority is to establish strategic brand partnerships and enhance our mass-market version.
- Product / Service Distribution (e.g. delivery, logistics, expanding client base)
Forced academia has shaped individuals to be self-serving and competitive, often at the expense of collaboration and community building. The focus on grades and end results fosters a mentality where individuals prioritize personal success over collective well-being.
To counter this paradigm, the Taletree method proposes a shift towards service-driven purpose and community engagement, emphasizing the continuous maintenance and application of skills and talents in real-world contexts. This approach fosters kindness by instilling a sense of accountability and responsibility towards others
Taletree positions itself as a digital platform akin to Cub Scouts, where participants engage in challenges and earn badges. However, unlike traditional scouts, education or certification systems, earning badges is just the beginning. Participants are encouraged to continually breathe life into these badges by applying their skills and values to purpose-driven endeavors.
What sets Taletree apart as a step change in education is its reliance on a combination of values, beliefs, AI, and blockchain technology to evaluate participants' progress objectively. This approach minimizes human bias and intervention, ensuring that a child's advancement is determined by their efforts and growth, rather than subjective judgment.
Moreover, Taletree acknowledges the stifling of creativity within forced academia. The traditional view tends to pigeonhole creativity into specific subject areas such as art, drama, and music, overlooking the fact that creativity is a mindset applicable to any problem or situation. Taletree asserts that all humans are inherently creative geniuses, not mere repositories of knowledge. Creativity extends beyond traditional artistic endeavors; it's about how we approach and tackle challenges in any domain of life.
By integrating this perspective, Taletree seeks to redefine education as a dynamic, purpose-driven journey where individuals are empowered to cultivate skills, contribute to their communities, and lead fulfilling lives.
The TaleTree methodology ensures that children maintain their creative genius:
Imagine: Encouraging imaginative thinking to devise solutions to unanswerable questions.
Create: Empowering children to express themselves through artwork as a response.
Play: Facilitating interactive discussions led by our Camp Captains on a weekly basis.
Share: Providing a platform for children to showcase their creations and shine among their peers.
Reflect/Reward: Encouraging reflection on the impact of their contributions or rewarding them for their efforts through recognition from organizations with social causes.
Archive/Repeat: Archiving their artwork for posterity and repeating the cycle to nurture ongoing creativity and innovation.
This year, our key priority is to establish strategic brand partnerships and enhance our mass-market version.
In five years, our vision is for children to grasp the importance of stewardship and to actively hold companies accountable by raising awareness through their creative endeavors.
Currently, our application is a web app and we utilize video conferencing tools like Zoom. While we embrace digital interaction, we promote offline work, allowing users to disconnect from screens and engage in hands-on activities. Our digital platform serves as both a destination for online interaction and a community where users can connect, collaborate, and grow together.
We are actively working on a Marketplace. This is how it would work:
Projects are initiated, inviting children to submit their creations across various mediums such as art, music, and stories.
In collaboration with nonprofits, experts, and for-profit entities, TaleTree facilitates the minting of selected submissions into collections.
These NFT collections are then made available for purchase on platforms like the Emerald Marketplace, as well as other prominent marketplaces such as OpenSea.
Each transaction contributes to raising awareness and revenue and rewards for all participating stakeholders, including the young creators, non-profits, and TaleTree
By adopting this approach, we not only incentivize creativity among children but also foster a community of philanthropists who support these original ideas. It's a model that transcends mere digital ownership, offering tangible benefits to all involved.By engaging all stakeholders - experts, for-profit brands, non-profit organizations, and parent/kid communities - we can amplify our impact and effect positive change in the Emerald Forest and beyond.
