In 2011, the cost of treating diabetes exceeded US$465 billion. Also, gestations diabetes is one the leading cause of pregnant with women. Diabetes patients and expcially   new and expectant mothers lack access to clinically-accurate information to guide their care. 

In addition, Burkina Faso faces significant healthcare challenges, including limited access to quality healthcare services, particularly in rural areas. The prevalence of chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension further strains the healthcare system. Traditional healthcare delivery models need help to meet the growing demand, leading to inefficiencies and disparities in care.

Diabetes is an important public health problem, so prevention and management are important. A sedentary lifestyle and poor diet are known risk factors for diabetes. To prevent diabetes-related complications, blood sugar must be controlled, and lifestyle must be managed properly with a healthy diet and regular exercise. Failure to get a correct diagnosis also leads to health problems, complications, and death. This indicates the need for a less expensive solution. This solution can be self-management. The use of mobile applications for the management of diabetes and the improvement of the lifestyle of a diabetic patient. Studies have shown that personalized diabetes management can increase efficiency and improve diabetes treatment outcomes.
