Health InSight with Dadosfera
- Brazil
- For-profit, including B-Corp or similar models
Our purpose is to solve the problem of ethical and effective collection of health-related data, ensuring accuracy and actionable insights. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), around 400 million people worldwide lack access to essential health services. Additionally, WHO highlights the lack of reliable and accurate data as a critical problem that affects many areas of health, especially in developing countries and vulnerable communities.
The lack of accurate information makes it difficult to identify the real needs of the population and, therefore, plan and implement effective interventions to meet the health demands of these groups. This can result in an inadequate allocation of resources, lack of access to relevant health services, and ultimately worsen the health and well-being of vulnerable populations.
We have developed a platform that covers the entire data lifecycle, from collection to visualization and, with our technology, it is possible to centralize several databases and data sources that are constantly updated in a single location. With integrated health data, it is possible for it to be analyzed and made available in intelligent data applications for visualization by health professionals. Therefore empowers decision-makers with real-time, accurate insights, enabling the strategic allocation of resources and the provision of quality care, particularly benefiting underprivileged communities.
Dadosfera stands out as an innovative platform integrating data and advanced analytics, focusing on business objectives. Prioritizing speed, scalability, flexibility, it combines storing vast data volumes with advanced analytics for strategic decision-making.

Dadosfera has been working with some Brazilian companies that directly impact the education and healthcare sectors, providing data analytics that make their business development more effective. A clear example of a healthcare initiative is the HealthLake Institute created by the co-founder of Dadosfera (Luis Martins), which aims to create a data lake for brazilian health information, both public and private, so that the population can easily access this data and understand the context of the subject in the country.
In the global context proposed by MIT challenge, we observe that there is a difficulty in analyzing data from leaders in the healthcare sector for conscious and informed decision-making. Therefore, our company aims to impact the lives that are affected in fragile contexts and minority populations in society as a whole, allowing the needs of these groups to be visualized clearly and easily understood and accessed. As a result, obtaining an overview of what the main problems are, strengthening the healthcare infrastructure to ensure that data related to the subject is current, comprehensive, and actionable, improving governance and coordination between local and international communities in fragile contexts, allowing for a broad understanding of where greater support and investment are needed to preserve the lives and health of the population.
Dadosfera was founded in Brazil, and its entire team is native to the country. Despite being a nation with a rich cultural diversity, it is possible to observe and verify that our population suffers from social and income inequalities.
A survey conducted by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics estimates that about 35 million Brazilians do not have access to any regular healthcare system.
Given that we are close to a reality, where our population suffers from social and financial inequalities. We believe that, coupled with the expertise of our team, the development of Dadosfera will provide significant data for advances in healthcare worldwide, addressing the recurring problem not only in our country but in various regions. Besides, Dadosfera is the main sponsor of the Health Lake Institute, a project developed by our CEO Luis Martina that emerged with the purpose of democratizing public health in Brazil, linked to the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic, was created as a voluntary initiative that brings together experts from different areas across the country, aiming to develop a Lake of Data in a oriented way.
Through the provision of accessible information, we believe it is possible to generate a significant impact for communities, starting from data monitoring and resulting in insights for decision-making.

Dadosfera began receiving investments in 2020 in the Pre-Seed round, where U$500,000 was raised, for the launch of our initial SaaS product and the basic professional plan in April 2022. We also went through the Seed Round where we received an investment of 1.75 million dollars. Since then we have provided improvements such as the launch of advanced standard SaaS, SaaS Data Asset Marketplace and Data-IA Stand Alone and Apps.
Today, we have more than 30 active customers and have already had contact with more than 5000 companies qualified for sale.
We are applying to Solve primarily because we would like to help alleviate global challenges through technological innovation. Additionally, it is valuable for Dadosfera to connect with other companies that offer similar solutions to gain a network and better understand demands beyond Brazil, where we are located. Finally, as MIT is a great example in terms of technology, it is beneficial for us to have support and contact with the institute's people to mentor us and bring improvements and optimization to our product and company.
In addition, we already have some connections with MIT through MIT Angels, such as Amaury Fonseca, who holds a PhD from MIT, Elisa Mofarrej, a counselor for MIT Sloan Latin America, Maria Alice Frontini, the founder of MIT Angels Brazil, and our investor Sayuri Sharper, who is an engineer and master's degree holder from the institution and the president of a social impact group there. Because of this, being part of the Solve team would be very interesting for Dadosfera to be increasingly present in this ecosystem.
- Product / Service Distribution (e.g. delivery, logistics, expanding client base)
What makes Dadosfera innovative is that we seek to group all of a company's data in only one place, organizing, centralizing it in a single environment, facilitating access, democratizing and making data usage simple for decision-making, allowing its users to focus on their business objectives.
Initially, we have the problem, which is the difficulty of using technology to collaborate with health systems and reduce the lack of access to quality healthcare and the critical challenge of ensuring ethical and effective collection of health-related data while enhancing the accuracy and actionability of AI insights inequality of the healthcare system in fragile contexts, affecting over 1.6 billion people and even more severe for minority groups. Managers face difficulty in decision-making on the topic due to a lack of access to information. The goal of Dadosfera is to facilitate the visualization of data and information through the use of a data and a AI platform that generates easy-to-use dashboards and intelligent applications accessible to people with limited knowledge of the subject. We hope that decision-making will be facilitated and areas in fragile contexts easily identified so that actions can be taken based on real and well-treated information, leading to effective results for the population in fragile contexts suffering from the inequality of the healthcare system. Our strategy involves seeking reliable data sources that provide relevant information on the major issues, treating them to generate insights relevant to problem-solving and making them available to the entire company. Activities related to this strategy will begin with the search for as much data as possible and its integration into our platform. We will then study with interested parties which indicators are necessary to reduce the problem and generate information, making it available on interactive dashboards. We will also work with users through demonstrations and establish partnerships to provide continuous support. Required inputs include our platform, which is ready for use; the Dadosfera solutions team, to handle, work and make health data available, and also our sales team, in constant contact with interested parties. Success indicators include the number of Dashboard users, the number of countries reached, user satisfaction metrics, and the quality and usefulness of the final information provided. Finally, the expected impact is to make a positive impact on healthcare, specially for the population in fragile contexts, making decision making more agile, data-driven and comprehensive to reduce problems related to this topics.

Dadosfera values diversity and inclusion, starting with its recruitment and selection practices. Currently, more than 40% of the team is made up of women. Among women in our team, 16% hold leadership positions with is a strong focus on their development in the tech career. Additionally, around 50% of our team members are non-caucasian, and approximately 17% identify as part of the LGBT community. We work and value an environment where all people, cultures, ethnicities, and beliefs are welcome and fully respected. We believe that diversity makes us stronger.
The business model is based on a high-growth SaaS model and customized implementations in companies (high investment, slow implementation, but brings product validation and feedback). For each deployment, Dadosfera generates one-time revenue for implementation and recurring revenue for monthly subscription, professional services, support and data usage/enrichment.
The go-to-market approach is based on an ecosystem strategy, where we have developed a highly specialized data consultancy (DataSprints), one of the largest data communities in the world (Data Hackers), a data training initiative (Academy DS) and a 100% Non-Profit Institute for Social and Technological Advancement (Health Lake). All of this together facilitates the long-term marketing and sales funnel, which can range from 3 months to 2 years.
- Organizations (B2B)
We intend to become financially independent by selling subscriptions to the SaaS plataform we build. As there is also the intention to raise investment capital in a series A round. We also have an FP&A model in the company that shows us the durability of the current cash burn, which shows when we are going to reach breakeven and thus have a sustainable cash position.
We have also developed a roadmap of what we hope to achieve in the next 5 years in terms of product, based on core objectives:
2024 - International Focus considering scale and location updates
2025 - Seamless integration and advanced, granular access to data asset management
2026 - Dadosfera’s support in the main marketplaces of large cloud providers
2027 - Start of Dadosfera’s vertical specializations in: Finance, Health, Agri-food, Telecommunications and Oil and Gas
2028 - Start of the dadosfera Partner Network
So far we raised investment capital in pre-seed and seed rounds, where we were able to raise more than 2.2 million dollars. Also, we have already sold subscription and professional services to customers in Brazil and one customer in the Netherlands. Furthermore, we were also included in the BDMG (Minas Gerais Development Bank) pro-innovation program, where we received a significant investment of R$1.000.000,00, highlighting the company's relevance and innovation potential on the national and international scene.
