Easy Bites Child Feeding Coach

*NOTE TO BEGIN: In our commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment, Easy Bites consciously chooses language that avoids reinforcing weight stigma. Weight stigma is associated with many of the same chronic conditions as clinically significant ob*sity and can exacerbate health disparities. By using terms like clinically significant ob*se and ob*sity," we aim to focus on the health aspect without contributing to the stigma that often accompanies the condition. Our approach emphasizes the importance of early, responsive feeding interventions that can lead to lifelong health and wellbeing, especially in communities disproportionately affected by diet-related illness.
Easy Bites is tackling the escalating problem of childhood ob*sity and the resulting chronic health conditions that increasingly affect children from a very young age. The issue is magnified within communities that face health disparities, particularly among Black and brown populations and lower socioeconomic groups.
Globally, childhood ob*sity has quadrupled since 1990, and in the United States, projections indicate that most children alive today will be ob*se by age 35. The problem has deep-rooted ties to socioeconomic disparities: 18.9% of children in the lowest income group are ob*se, almost double that of those in the highest income group. Diet-related illness imposes an economic burden, with related conditions costing Americans nearly $173 billion a year.
These figures stress the need for early, proactive intervention. Easy Bites introduces responsive feeding strategies to establish healthier habits from infancy to five years—the critical window to prevent diet-related illness and instill a lifelong positive relationship with food. Our app provides personalized nutritional guidance, supporting families, particularly those burdened by the double challenge of malnutrition and ob*sity.
Early intervention is crucial in combatting diet-related illness like high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes. These chronic conditions are often subsequent to ob*sity, which affects a significant portion of youth, with current rates at 26.2% among Hispanic children and 24.8% among non-Hispanic Black children. Easy Bites targets this critical issue by providing families with the tools to foster healthier lifestyles from the outset.
The global ob*sity crisis is estimated to incur costs of $3 trillion by 2030, escalating to over $18 trillion by 2060 if current trends continue.
By leveraging our digital platform, Easy Bites equips parents to navigate their children's nutritional development, reducing feeding-related anxiety and stress. Our tools are designed to enhance parents' ability to surmount socioeconomic hurdles to healthy living, thereby contributing to a world where every child, regardless of background, has the chance to thrive.
Easy Bites is a child nutrition platform that guides families with the knowledge and tools necessary for informed and responsive feeding. The app is designed to alleviate the stress of meal planning and feeding, and to ensure a healthy diet for young children, a crucial time for developing lifelong healthy eating habits.
The tools and advice within the app are aligned with food psychology and responsive feeding methods endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the WHO. These methods are central to our approach, ensuring that every family can apply best practices in child feeding, tailored to their unique circumstances and needs.
Parents begin by creating a profile for their child, factoring in age, developmental stage, and dietary needs. The app’s AI analyzes this data to offer personalized meal plans and evidence-based feeding advice. Easy Bites utilizes machine learning to fine-tune recommendations and meal plans as a child grows.
The app includes pragmatic tools like a 30-day allergen introduction plan, which is critical for allergy prevention, and structured pathways to address picky eating. Moreover, it features a proprietary system that allows parents to track their child's nutritional development and feeding progress, providing them with reassurance and diminishing anxiety around mealtimes.
Easy Bites offers personalized guidance that honors an array of dietary habits and financial realities. This conscientious design broadens the app's usability, ensuring that every family's unique needs are acknowledged and met with support.
We are currently working on integration with programs like SNAP and WIC. This initiative will allow us to extend our services to those who can benefit most from our support but may have the least access to it. Further, our partnership with ARCHANGELS aims to guide users to relevant, free nutrition and caregiving resources that complements the tools provided by Easy Bites.
Our roadmap focuses on the continual expansion of caregiving tools. An AI-powered meal planner is set to be released, which will simplify the creation of weekly meal plans and shopping lists, considering both children's ages and family feeding challenges. The app's future updates will foster a more interactive experience, enabling parents to converse with the app through Maesi, our AI child nutrition expert. And for those issues that need a more human touch, we will have responsive-feeding-trained nutritionists available for asynchronous chat.
Our goal is to foster equity by acknowledging and addressing the unique challenges faced by underserved communities. We aim to empower parents with the tailored support and resources necessary to meet their children's nutritional needs, taking into account the diversity of economic circumstances and cultural traditions.
Easy Bites is working towards a healthier future for the next generation. By combining innovation with a deep understanding of family dynamics and nutrition science, Easy Bites is dedicated to making a positive impact on children’s health. We’re learning every day about what families need and applying this knowledge to create accessible, science-backed nutritional tools.
Easy Bites is designed for families with children aged 0-5, especially in underserved communities such as Black and brown families and those from lower socioeconomic backgrounds, primarily in the US, UK, and Australia. This age is pivotal for instilling lifelong healthy eating habits, crucial for staving off chronic conditions disproportionately affecting these groups.
Our target families often confront a lack of accessible nutritional guidance and support, coupled with an increased risk of chronic diseases due to socioeconomic constraints. Ob*sity rates are higher among marginalized groups, with Hispanic children at 26.2% and non-Hispanic Black children at 24.8%, compared to those from higher-income families.
To address these disparities, Easy Bites provides a suite of personalized, evidence-based tools within an engaging platform. Features like the 30-day allergen introduction plan and solutions to tackle picky eating directly cater to these families' realities, promoting healthier outcomes and easing mealtime stress.
The impact of Easy Bites is measured by the positive change in children's health—lower rates of weight dysregulation and better nutrition—and by significantly reducing caregivers' anxiety and burden. By lightening the load of meal planning and feeding, we nurture positive food relationships and healthier childhoods.
We're integrating our services with programs like SNAP and WIC to extend our reach in the US, while working towards global expansion within the next five years. Our roadmap includes growth into Latin America, India, China, and the Middle East, with culturally adapted content to meet diverse needs. Strategic partnerships, such as with ARCHANGELS, help us provide additional, culturally sensitive support and free resources.
By equipping underserved populations with personalized, accessible tools and knowledge, we aim to enact meaningful change in child nutrition. We are working towards a future where every child has the opportunity for happy, healthy ever after.
As a first-gen immigrant from a low-income family, I've witnessed how lack of nutrition education and healthy food access breeds cycles of diet-related illness. My parents relied on processed foods, not only for convenience but because they were seen as a status symbol, a representation that they were true Americans. While these convenience foods became a necessity while my parents worked day and night to keep us clothed and fed, they took a major toll on our family's health. Seeing the impacts of diabetes, stroke and hypertension on my own family, I became a dietitian looking to break that cycle and bring healthy eating within reach for families like my own.
When my co-founder Natalia Stasenko struggled to feed her neurodivergent child, she created Easy Bites, an app shaped by her lived experience as a parent dealing with picky eating and other feeding issues. I joined Natalia shortly after, having faced my own battles getting my anxious child to eat without vomiting at the dinner table.
At Easy Bites, we're dedicated to empowering marginalized families disproportionately impacted by poor nutrition and diet-related disease. We actively learn from our 100k+ member Facebook group, conducting regular surveys and focus groups to gather insights that guide the app's development. User data also provides a window into real needs, allowing us to continually evolve Easy Bites alongside the community.
We understand that technology alone is not the panacea, which is why our community-driven approach extends beyond the app. Our collaborations with organizations such as ARCHANGELS help guide users to additional free resources, supporting a holistic approach to child nutrition and caregiver support
But we know there's more to do. That's why we prioritize hiring from and partnering with underserved communities. We've piloted with WIC clinics, rural pediatrics providers, and Indigenous populations, always listening and adapting based on their perspectives.
Our team embodies the diversity of families using Easy Bites. This allows us to create solutions that don't just work on paper, but resonate because they're informed by the lived realities families face daily.
- Increase access to and quality of health services for medically underserved groups around the world (such as refugees and other displaced people, women and children, older adults, and LGBTQ+ individuals).

At Easy Bites, we are trying to take on a really complex problem: how to help families, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, build healthy eating habits from an early age. The consequences of failing at that challenge show up in child ob*sity rates, diet-related illness, food insecurity, and more.
We’re committed in our approach: Build the app iteratively, in conversation with the communities we're trying to serve. Through pilots with clinics and community groups, focus groups with parents, data-gathering from early app users, we’ve stress-tested their ideas. The Easy Bites community has shaped an intuitive app packed with evidence-based nutrition guidance, responsive feeding tools, meal planning, milestone tracking, and tailored allergen plans. Our diverse user base - families from all socioeconomic backgrounds - has been instrumental in iterating both design and content delivery.
Instead of lecturing families on what they should be doing, we're crowdsourcing insights on what families are actually dealing with - and what would make healthy eating more achievable in their daily lives. It’s a holistic platform shaped by the textures of real parenting experiences.
Of course, Easy Bites is still just getting started. We have right around 750 monthly active users. We've raised some funds through the impact investor, Maze X, and are planning our first official investment round Q3 2024.
We are applying to Solve to forge connections and find allies who grasp the transformative potential of prioritizing early nutrition.
We're eager to accelerate our growth and extend our reach. But scaling isn't our only focus. We need technical guidance on an ambitious AI roadmap - developing an empathetic system sophisticated enough to navigate the rich cultural complexities that shape dietary norms and family life.
We also require legal counsel to maneuver the intricacies involved in integrating with federal nutrition initiatives like SNAP and WIC. Partnering with these programs is key to ensuring truly equitable access for our most underserved users.
Effective monitoring and evaluation are crucial for us. We need robust tools and methodologies to accurately assess our impact.
For our public relations, we need help shaping a narrative. We need a marketing strategy that articulates our story clearly and resonates with a diverse audience while staying true to our core mission.
Finally, we're seeking deeper insights into the lived realities of the diverse families we aim to support. Understanding the myriad barriers to healthy eating requires an openness to listening and strategic engagement.
Solve's network could provide the multidisciplinary approach we need to help us clear these hurdles. We're here seeking partners as committed as we are to leveraging technology for equitable family wellbeing. No one has all the answers, which is why we're eager to join a community of Solvers willing to learn and grow with us.

Easy Bites offers a distinct approach to child nutrition by focusing on feeding psychology and behavior change. Our platform delivers real-time, personalized advice, differentiating us from competitors who often limit their offerings to meal planning and kid-friendly recipes. We align our strategies with the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the WHO, ensuring that our guidance is both scientifically grounded and practically applicable.
Easy Bites utilizes advanced AI and machine learning to deliver personalized, adaptive nutrition and feeding strategies. Our technology is capable of evolving with each child’s unique growth patterns and preferences.
The content within Easy Bites is evidence-based, providing parents with reliableinformation. By continuously integrating the latest scientific insights into our app, Easy Bites not only leads in delivering trusted guidance but also influences how nutritional information is relayed and adopted within the industry.
Our edge in the market is clear. Easy Bites offers a more accessible and proactive solution compared to pediatric dietitians, who are typically consulted reactively and are priced out of reach. While child feeding books are a cost-effective resource, they lack the adaptability to provide personalized, ongoing support. Moreover, doctors, despite being a potential source of nutritional advice, can dedicate only a fraction of their time (2.6 minutes on average) to such discussions during appointments.
In contrast, Easy Bites is designed for everyday use, providing continuous support to help prevent long-term health issues related to poor nutrition. It's not just an app; it's a comprehensive support system that evolves with your child, equipped with tools to guide and enhance parents' feeding decisions.
We envision a market transformation where Easy Bites sets the standard for responsive feeding practices, encouraging early interventions that can change the trajectory of a child’s lifelong health. As we continue to build on our platform, Easy Bites is set to expand its impact, making a healthy diet and positive eating habits achievable for every family, regardless of their background or economic status. Our goal is not just to change individual lives but also to shift the market towards more effective and equitable child nutrition solutions.
Easy Bites' theory of change model is based in the understanding that early intervention in child nutrition can set the stage for a lifetime of healthy eating habits, thus reducing the prevalence of diet-related illness and improving overall well-being. Our approach interweaves responsive feeding practices, psychological insights, and evidence-based nutritional advice to empower parents and caregivers in fostering a healthy relationship with food.

Easy Bites is dedicated to transforming child nutrition and reducing diet-related illness through a comprehensive digital platform. Our mission is to improve the nutritional health of children, empower parents with knowledge and confidence in child feeding practices, and extend our reach to underserved communities. Here are our specific impact goals and the methods we use to measure our progress towards achieving them:
1. Reduce weight dysregulation among children of caregiving users by 20% within the first two years of app engagement. While we do not directly track changes in Body Mass Index (BMI) to avoid weight stigma, we ask users to fill out a questionnaire and ask their impression of their child’s growth.
2. Enhance parental engagement and satisfaction with child feeding practices, aiming for a 30% improvement in self-reported confidence and knowledge. Utilize pre and post-use surveys to gauge increases in knowledge and confidence among parents, measuring the effectiveness of the app's educational content and support tools.
3. Boost usage among families from low socioeconomic backgrounds by 25%, focusing on outreach and making nutritional advice more accessible and practical. Monitor the uptake and continued engagement of the app within targeted underserved communities through user analytics that track new sign-ups and active usage patterns.
We collect data using built-in analytics in the app, which captures user engagement levels, feedback surveys on user satisfaction, and health tracking functionalities embedded within the platform. This data is analyzed using advanced software tools that allow us to identify trends, measure impact, and adapt our approach based on real-time feedback.
Our efforts align directly with UN Sustainable Development Goal 3, which aims to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages. By focusing on early childhood nutrition, Easy Bites contributes to this goal by laying the foundation for healthier lifestyle choices that can prevent future diet-related health issues.
We plan to expand our impact by extending our reach to new geographic areas and integrating with federal nutrition programs like SNAP and WIC. This will help ensure that families who can benefit the most from our app have the access they need, regardless of their economic status.
Easy Bites is a child nutrition platform leveraging technology and time-honored feeding principles to help families cultivate healthy eating habits from day one. Our core technology harnesses AI, machine learning, and future natural language processing to deliver a personalized, interactive experience for parents and caregivers.
The platform employs AI and ML to analyze individual child profiles encompassing age, dietary needs, and developmental stages. This tech dynamically adapts, learning from user interactions to refine and personalize meal plans and feeding advice. Our recommendations evolve alongside the child's changing needs, providing tailored nutritional guidance that grows with the family.
Easy Bites will incorporate conversational NLP through 'Maesi' - an AI assistant offering real-time feedback akin to a pediatric nutrition expert. This intuitive interface facilitates an engaging, supportive experience mirroring dialogue with a professional.
At its core, Easy Bites is a mobile app designed for seamless integration with other wellness apps and devices. This interoperability expands our capability to gather relevant health data, enhancing personalized advice while aligning with users' broader health ecosystems.
While leveraging cutting-edge tech, Easy Bites respects traditional practices like Ellyn Satter's Division of Responsibility. This approach emphasizes distinct parent/child roles during mealtimes, empowering parents over the what, when and where of meals while allowing children autonomy over how much they consume. Aligning with this philosophy, we aim to support - not overwhelm - families, keeping feeding positive and low-stress.
Our AI-driven platform allows for scalability across regions and cultural contexts. It can rapidly adjust to new markets, incorporating local guidelines and preferences. This versatility uniquely positions Easy Bites to deliver global impact.
Easy Bites isn’t just an app, it’s a comprehensive tool transforming how families approach nutrition from the start. By thoughtfully fusing sophisticated tech with proven strategies, we're ready to nurture generations of happy, healthy eaters.

We have been working on the Easy Bites solution for three years now.
At Easy Bites, we are working to create an environment where every single person feels valued, respected, and can truly show up as their authentic self.
We know that diversity isn't just a nice-to-have - it's a necessity. It makes us better. When we have a multitude of perspectives, experiences and identities at the table, we can create solutions that actually work for the real families we serve in all their complexity.
Our leadership team is majority women, and we have team members from all different geographic, cultural and professional backgrounds bringing their whole selves to the work.
We are cultivating an equitable, inclusive culture where everyone feels like they genuinely belong and have pathways to opportunity. That's why we have regular trainings and do not shy away from tough conversations. We are curious about each other's experiences. We celebrate our differences.
We know we don't have it all figured out, and we are still early on in our hiring. But we're committed to maintain a company culture that centers around staying curious and leading with vulnerability. Easy Bites operates on a dual business model strategy—Business-to-Consumer (B2C) and Business-to-Business-to-Consumer (B2B2C)—to deliver its child nutrition solutions. Our approach ensures that we provide value not only directly to families but also through organizational clients such as health insurers and employers.
B2C Strategy:
In our B2C model, Easy Bites reaches parents and caregivers directly through our app. We provide these users with personalized nutrition and feeding advice, leveraging our sophisticated AI technology to cater to the individual needs of their children from infancy through early childhood. Our services are designed to reduce the stress and anxiety associated with meal planning and child feeding, promoting healthier eating habits and preventing future health issues.
B2B2C Strategy:
Our B2B2C model involves partnering with health insurers and employers to subsidize our solution for their employees, enhancing employee wellness and productivity. This model allows us to extend our reach and impact by providing our services as part of employee health benefits packages, thereby supporting family health at a larger scale.
We implement our B2B2C strategy through a combination of sales outreach, direct-to-consumer marketing, and strategic partnerships. For instance, we are planning to launch pilots with major insurers to demonstrate the value of Easy Bites, with the aim of securing contracts that integrate our services into their health plans. Additionally, we seek to establish partnerships with wellness platforms like Personify Health and Solera to enhance our credibility and expand our reach.
Our marketing efforts are tailored to address the distinct needs of both our B2B clients and end consumers. We utilize a mix of digital strategies and traditional marketing channels to ensure our message reaches our target audience effectively. This includes engaging in industry conferences, hosting webinars, and employing digital marketing techniques such as SEO, social media, and email campaigns.
Looking ahead, we plan to introduce innovative programs such as the Easy Bites Wallet, a B2B employee food benefit program. This initiative will provide employees with credits or subsidies to purchase nutritious foods, thus promoting healthier eating habits directly through employer wellness programs. Our roadmap also includes expanding our B2B channel partnerships and enhancing features to improve health equity among users.
By combining a thoughtful B2C approach with an expansive B2B2C strategy, Easy Bites is positioned to make a significant impact on child nutrition and public health. Our business model not only aims for financial sustainability but also for a substantial social impact by improving the lives of children and families globally.

To date, Easy Bites has not secured funding through grants but we are exploring options.
We recently received investment from the impact investor Maze X. These funds have been crucial for scaling our technology and expanding our market presence. We plan to begin our first investment round Q3 2024.
We are exploring service contracts with government entities and health organizations. These contracts are designed to provide Easy Bites at a subsidized rate to low-income families, funded by government health initiatives, enhancing public access to quality nutrition education.
Our financial strategy includes careful management of resources, with a clear plan for scaling operations and managing costs effectively. We anticipate future funding rounds and have a strategy in place to attract additional investment as we grow. Our aim is not only to cover our current expenses but to invest in future growth to expand our impact.
Our financial model has proven successful, as evidenced by:
- A consistent increase in our subscriber base, demonstrating the value and demand for our services.
