The general belief that the problem of medication usage is technically unsolvable because missing a time-of-day dose cannot be undone but may lead to a skipped dose, is not accurate. The instructions written on bottles to this effect will be changed for greater efficiency.

Multicompartment devices with an associated display that will hold medication containers in each compartment. Compartments have sensors with notifying elements of light, sound and vibratory. Container labels will be scanned or entered into the display and assigned a specific location within the device. Timing to the next dose will start and the location will alert at the end of the interval.
Biometrics will permit access and a patient or care giver will be able to pick up the container that's in a state of alert. The medication in their hands will` be instantly displayed with guidance throughout the dosing event. Guidance can be made audible with preferred language selection. The unit will also work in reverse if a medication is picked up regardless of notification. The interactive process is designed for safety.
Nothing here is geared towards forcing anyone to take a pill. Optionally a camera will record every interaction and persons are supported for safe use. Refusal to ingest a medication may be logged by a user with reasons given for that decision. A decision to be discussed with their healthcare team.
