MTS Ecosystem
- United Kingdom
- For-profit, including B-Corp or similar models
- Healthcare Inequity: In most sub-Saharan countries, >20% of the population lives more than two hours away from essential health services, leading to continuing healthcare inequity and avoidable deaths.
- Data Gaps: Lack of nationally and internationally aggregated, anonymised, real-time healthcare data for government ministries of health and international healthcare IGOs and NGOs, to enable them to better prepare, coordinate and respond to emergencies, increase the effectiveness of public health campaigns, improve healthcare service quality, identify research and policy-making opportunities, see cross-border vaccination uptake and epidemiological progress, increase healthcare accessibility and equity, and improve cross-border health initiatives.
- Unstable Infrastructure: Internet penetration is today at ~40%, and smartphone ownership at ~20% of the population. With increased telecommunications infrastructure investment across the continent, advances in smartphone connectivity, data management policies (including to boost interoperability, privacy, and security), and data infrastructure are starting to change the ways health systems work in Africa. Rapid expansion in other areas, such as mobile financing, shows that leapfrogging is possible.
- Medical Records Access: Most of this population lack access to their medical records, which hinders continuity of care and informed decision-making and disempowers them from providing feedback on their care, leading to ongoing lack of transparency and accountability in the healthcare system.
- Medical Fraud: Verifying the credentials of healthcare professionals, establishments and the authenticity of medicines is challenging, leading to instances of unlicensed practitioners, lack of uniformity and legitimacy of care provided, and unviable medicines that compromise patient safety and healthcare quality, undermining trust in the healthcare system.
Imagine a world where you as an individual and medical patient can not only visualize your internal health in real-time, but can simulate your potential health risks using your body’s Digital Twin so you can set personalized health goals - through an app in your phone...
A world where health professionals can have triage information provided upfront by their patients, enabling them to prioritize cases, improve the accuracy of diagnoses, track treatment progress in real time and simulate/predict health outcomes to optimize and personalize treatment plans, promoting preventive care and overall well-being....
A world where governments and international healthcare IGOs and NGOs, using country and continent-level digital twinning for real-time reporting and future modelling, establish an unprecedented level of worldwide healthcare visibility, cooperation, and predictability – ensuring seamless continuity of care across borders.
This is what we are building.
MTS Intro Deck (Solution Explained)

I've known Austin my entire life, and we've been friends for 21yrs. I've been friends with Celeste for 14yrs. I sat them and their spouses next to each other at my wedding 6yrs ago, where they became friends. Last year, we became co-founders when I had the idea on the 25th of May 2023. We were all born and raised in sub-Saharan Africa (these are OUR people, our families, our friends, our colleagues, users and customers). We have all met together many times, and even spent a week living in the same apartment in Ghana when we went to do our customer deep-dive/requirements scoping/dinners/workshops/break-out sessions/individual customer meetings etc.
We understand that solving the digital health problem is not about providing health establishments with EMR capability, that it requires an ecosystem approach, that the power to affect lasting change lies in the data that individual patients give about themselves, as without including the patients as users, you are asleep on a huge opportunity. And without the likes of MSF, The Gates Foundation, UNDP, UNICEF etc as customers, you are missing out on your largest revenue driver, and not closing the loop to generate lasting impact.
We're engaging stakeholders at every level, from the patients on the ground to the IGOs and NGOs at 40000ft, to create an interoperable, closed-loop solution that brings them all together, for lasting change, for global good. And we know this because we've spoken to the founders of all our competitors. We know what their mistakes were, what they tried to do to resolve them, what worked, what did not work, where they are going now, and why. We have involved our end users at every level since the beginning of our value proposition definition. So, we know not only that they need it, but that it'll solve all the problems we had first identified, and more, that their current systems do not. We have factored all of this into the development not only of our revenue models but of every single one of our products within our product/data ecosystem. As a result of this, they are actively engaged in ensuring its success, as they have had input in its development, meaning it takes into consideration things we wouldn't have known without their partnership in the process.
We have now started building our MVP, in partnership with, and to pilot it first with our Beta clients, Scope Plus Health Group in Ghana, across their one hospital & dozens of clinics, followed by the other 200 health establishments in our sales pipeline, and covered by the signed ‘Expression of Interest’ forms. We are also engaged with the UNDP (they attended our dinner and workshops in Ghana), and are actively building relationships with future customers including the Gates' foundation and the African Development Bank, utilizing our advisory board who are very networked.

We understand that solving the digital health problem is not about providing health establishments with EMR capability. We understand that it requires an ecosystem approach, that the power to affect lasting change lies in the data that individual patients give about themselves and that the whales are the ultimate revenue drivers. Without including the patients as users, you are asleep on a huge opportunity. And without the likes of MSF, The Gates Foundation, UNDP, UNICEF etc as customers, you are missing out on your largest revenue driver, and not closing the loop to generate lasting impact.
It takes seeing and engaging stakeholders at every level, from the patients on the ground to the IGOs and NGOs at 40,000 feet, to create an interoperable, closed-loop solution that brings them all together, for lasting change, for global good.
And we know this because we've spoken (when we were in incognito mode) to the founders of all our competitors. We know what their mistakes were, what they tried to do to resolve them, what worked, what did not work, where they are going now, and why. We have factored all of this into the development not only of our revenue models but of every single one of our products within our product/data ecosystem.
Our solution addresses the critical problems we identified, by leveraging technology to increase access to quality healthcare services and bridge existing gaps in healthcare infrastructure, data availability, and patient empowerment, leading to a more equitable and efficient healthcare system across the African continent.
Firstly, regarding healthcare inequity, our platform provides a digital solution that brings essential health services closer to individuals, particularly those living more than two hours away from healthcare facilities. By offering telemedicine services and facilitating remote consultations, patients can access healthcare professionals and services from the comfort of their homes, reducing travel time and increasing healthcare accessibility.
Secondly, in addressing data gaps, our platform aggregates anonymized, real-time healthcare data from various sources, including health establishments and healthcare professionals. This data is then analyzed and presented in a comprehensive dashboard, providing government ministries of health and international healthcare organizations with valuable insights to better prepare, coordinate, and respond to healthcare emergencies. Additionally, by improving data infrastructure and interoperability, our platform enhances the effectiveness of public health campaigns, increases healthcare service quality, and monitors cross-border health initiatives.
Thirdly, regarding unstable infrastructure, our platform is designed to operate efficiently even in regions with limited internet penetration and smartphone ownership. Through innovative data management policies and scalable technology solutions, we can adapt to changing telecommunications infrastructure and smartphone connectivity, ensuring continuity of service delivery regardless of infrastructure limitations. It is also designed to allow one person to create accounts for all their family members who do not have smartphones (like Netflix), which upon acquisition of a smartphone for any of those accounts, can then be de-coupled from the 'parent' account.
Fourthly, concerning medical records access, our platform empowers patients by providing them with secure access to their medical records. Patients can view their health information, including diagnoses, prescriptions, and treatment plans, enabling continuity of care and informed decision-making. Moreover, patients can provide feedback on their care experiences, promoting transparency and accountability in the healthcare system.
Lastly, regarding medical fraud, our platform includes features for verifying the credentials of healthcare professionals and establishments. By implementing robust verification mechanisms and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, we mitigate the risks associated with unlicensed practitioners and counterfeit medicines, safeguarding patient safety and healthcare quality.
Our impact goals align with several UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goals 3 (Good Health and Well-being), 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and 10 (Reduced Inequalities). We aim to address healthcare inequities, improve healthcare infrastructure, and reduce inequalities in access to quality healthcare services across Africa.
Specifically, our impact goals include:

- Number of healthcare establishments, IGOs and NGOs adopting our solutions
Reducing Healthcare Inequalities: We aim to reduce inequalities in access to quality healthcare services, in line with SDG 10, by empowering patients and promoting transparency and accountability in the healthcare system. Our platform provides patients with secure access to their medical records, enabling them to actively participate in their healthcare decisions. Trackable quantitative indicators include:
- Percentage of patients accessing their medical records through the platform
- Patient satisfaction scores and feedback on healthcare experiences
By measuring our progress against these impact goals and trackable quantitative indicators, we can effectively monitor our contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and ensure that we are creating meaningful and sustainable impact for people in every country across the continent.
