Autinosis
- Brazil
- Hybrid of for-profit and nonprofit
Around 1% of the world’s population has been diagnosed with the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), that number has been greatly increasing in the last 20 years (the number of new autism diagnosis has been between 6% and 15% during that time), which means that more people are getting access to treatment and, thus, can get treatment and live better lives. The lack of access to specialized clinics along with the high costs of traditional diagnosis hinder many people from getting appropriate treatment for ASD, leading to stigma around ASD and poor quality of life for those with ASD.
Autinosis offers free ASD screening from anywhere with access to the internet. Our platform allows users to take autism tests and then guides them on how to better handle their results after they’ve taken the tests. We partner with clinics to offer treatment and official diagnosis to those who wish to take their ASD treatment further, but also provides the other 99% of the population who do not have ASD with very easy testing, allowing for families to get their members tested and bringing ASD treatment to all of those who need it.
Autinosis is addressing adolescents, adults and parents from the countryside of Brazil who suspect themselves or their children have ASD but are not able to afford getting an official diagnosis from a specialized clinic. We partner with clinics to facilitate further action by those who wish to proceed with treatment. Autinosis will allow people to access tests much more easily than ever before and facilitate treatment.
Autinosis is a company being built by some of the most capable minds in the Brazilian academical context, the founder of the company, Millena Xavier, is a Forbes Under 30 Innovator and a Stanford pre-college alumni and is taking part at the Innovation in Science and Technology at Yale Young Global Scholars Program. The team also counts with a student at The Knowledge Society (TKS), who’s working alongside the best innovators in the world to bring change through emerging technologies.
Our team has the technical and soft skills needed to deliver Autinosis to the world.
- Increase access to and quality of health services for medically underserved groups around the world (such as refugees and other displaced people, women and children, older adults, and LGBTQ+ individuals).
- 3. Good Health and Well-Being
- 10. Reduced Inequalities
- Prototype
We are in the prototype stage because we have a working platform that uses an AI model trained on publicly available data where a handful of test users and clinics are able to use our product.
We are applying to Solve because it is an unparalleled opportunity to develop our idea with the best minds on the intersection of technology and healthcare. Being a Solve winner will allow Autinosis to gain the credibility and support it needs to kickstart our services.

1 year and a half
Our team is currently very small, but we are committed to delivering the best possible experience to the largest number of users. As our solution is aimed at creating a more inclusive society our team reflects that, our solution is being deployed in our own community.
We offer autism screening and information on our platform, covering costs from fees, from government investments in equitable health, and from Brazilian funds for investment in autism and neurological disorders. Those organizations are interested in making diagnosing processes more efficient and Autinosis is providing a solution to achieve their goal with a minimal cost.
- Individual consumers or stakeholders (B2C)
Our plan to become financially sustainable is to start offering our services to smaller clinics that will pay a fee per pacient to get them tested and unanimously register the results to our platform and as we get more clinics to join our platform, the better our prediction models will be and the more localized it can be for each clinic, proceeding to become a common medical tool for quick autism screening.
This plan is being implemented in one autism clinic for toddlers. They've been testing the product and helping grow our database. It is proceeding according to plan, as other autism foundations are also showing interest in this technology, especially as it gets more accurate.
