Employment which leads to dignified living is a critical need of most adult citizens. The struggle for jobs in a large populace like India is extremely competitive. This is intensified and multiplied manifold for differently-abled individuals, evidenced by the fact that people with disabilities account for 0.58% of the national workforce in India, despite making up around 2.2% of the population, highlighting a severe employment disparity. Having examined this issue from the perspective of creating an inclusive economy, I aim to solve the lack of appropriate resources by leveraging modern technology by creating a software-aided app that makes job opportunities accessible for people with disabilities (PwD).
My personal commitment to contributing to an egalitarian and inclusive society motivates my efforts to explore economically empowering solutions for marginalized communities. Globally and in India, People with Disabilities (PwDs) face substantial employment gaps and inequality. Educational barriers, and preconceived notions about restrictive or low capabilities, further restrict PwD's employment opportunities. Lack of accessible infrastructure compounds the problem of education, skill training, and commuting to workplaces. Hence, I lead a team to use more technology-enabled solutions that overcome the problems created by the lack of physical infrastructure access in many regions. Our aim is to facilitate connections of PwDs with progressive companies committed to diversity and inclusion.
Jobility is a technology-based solution to the problem of employment faced by PwDs . It is a website platform that provides easy access for People with Disabilities (PwDs) to connect with suitable employment opportunities.
The solution is twofold: Changing attitudes by breaking down social barriers in India that have marginalized skilled people. By employing advanced algorithms, Jobility ensures customized job search, matching the abilities of applicants with job descriptions posted by employers, to reach at least the interview stage. Currently, we are using an integration of a Deep Learning Recommender that utilizes PyTorch to connect differently-abled individuals to the most suitable job available and firm, which benefits the PwDs and firms alike.
With India being a diverse linguistic country, our technology aims to integrate the platform with multi-lingual support, enhancing access for people of diverse communities in different regions of India. Jobility employs speech recognition technology that enhances the platform’s ability to respond to voice commands for job search and profile updation. The platform is available in Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, and English, which increases language compatibility and makes the technology more user-friendly.
More than a job-matching tool, we believe Jobility provides confidence and support to the disability community, committed to transforming the lives of PwDs by facilitating access to meaningful employment with people and organizations who value their services.

These individuals frequently face barriers due to insufficient accessibility and societal discrimination, resulting in limited educational opportunities and significantly lower employment rates compared to their counterparts.

We are focusing on expanding the platform’s impact by continuously adapting to the needs of PwDs. Jobility will offer comprehensive training to both job seekers and employers. It will foster an inclusive work environment that values diversity in the workplace. We want to not only connect disabled individuals with potential employers but equip them with the necessary skills and training as well to increase their employability. This will benefit the community as a whole by empowering them to not just participate but to excel in the workforce.
By doing so, it allows disabled individuals to contribute fully and effectively in the workplace and generates a sense of independence and self-confidence. We strive to create a more inclusive society where every person, regardless of disability, has the opportunity to thrive and succeed.
Our team at Jobility is uniquely positioned to deliver solutions that truly resonate with People with Disabilities (PwDs). As students immersed in technology, we have leveraged our daily engagement with digital tools to design a user-friendly interface that efficiently addresses the needs of our community. This ongoing, hands-on experience has equipped us to both anticipate and resolve technical challenges effectively, having dedicated the past 8 months to refining our platform.
This practical experience, combined with continuous community feedback, ensures that Jobility is designed to meet the actual needs of people with disabilities as the platform is both accessible and aligned to provide effective, viable, and enduring solutions.

We selected the "Prototype" stage for Jobility because it accurately reflects our current phase of development and testing. As of now, Jobility is an initial working version of the solution, which we are actively refining based on initial feedback from early users. We are running pilot tests to ensure the platform meets the needs of People with Disabilities (PwDs) effectively. We have engaged with 50+ PwDs during these tests, which ensured an efficiency of 97.8% for the Deep Learning Recommender, meeting the 10 different criteria to connect the most suitable applicants with ideally matched job descriptions and firms.
This phase has led to tangible success, including a strategic partnership with India’s leading special-needs foundation, Nav Divyang Foundation, and three successful job placements. One notable breakthrough was placing a 27-year-old paraplegic at Amazon Packaging, providing him with a regular salary and job security. This stage allows us to focus on improving functionality and usability, particularly the user interface, before scaling our operations.
SOLVE offers an environment and resources that align with Jobility’s aim to transform the employment landscape for People with Disabilities (PwDs) to make a more inclusive economy. As a platform tackling diverse and significant challenges - from technical complexities to cultural barriers - we need people who are willing to provide mentorship and their expertise to access untapped technical, human, and social resources which will add to Jobility’s effectiveness. In particular, there is a felt need for more automation to scale the operations and add more filters so that we can cater to a larger diversity of people and companies. innovators and thinkers will propel us further.
We see the support of experts, innovators, and thinkers as a vital step in shifting the platform from prototype to pilot. This will push us forward, enabling Jobility to make a more substantial impact and provide a helpful hand to more people.

No one thinks of disabilities as having strengths instead always resonated PWDs with weaknesses for the past multiple decades. We know that in reality, PWDs face many difficulties that limit their work performance and impact their quality of working life, adding to the stereotypical assumptions and approaches toward their capabilities. We know practical engagement and personalized solutions yield better outcomes. While most platforms do not follow the same ideas, our platform draws from this method and is designed to leverage machine learning to foster a significant shift in how employment for PwDs takes place.
We are here to redefine employment norms, encouraging inclusivity to become a market standard and employees with a disability to claim their position in the workforce and get integrated into a prosperous society and economy. By setting this precedent, Jobility aims to catalyze a broader movement towards an inclusive employment landscape, fundamentally transforming how businesses perceive and implement diversity within their workforce.

The expected impact is twofold: firstly, increasing employment rates among PwDs by providing more accurate job matches, and secondly, fostering a more inclusive work environment by encouraging employers to adapt to diverse needs. By addressing both the supply and demand sides of the employment equation, Jobility not only helps PwDs find meaningful employment but also educates and equips employers to embrace diversity contributing to broader economic inclusion.
Jobility's primary impact goal is to increase adoption of PwDs for firms and reduce high attrition rates among People with Disabilities (PwDs) in employment, aiming for long-term job retention and satisfaction. We also focus on enhancing economic prosperity for PwDs by ensuring they successfully secure jobs or earn skill certificates. To measure our progress, we track the number of successful job placements, skill certificates issued, employment retention duration, and user satisfaction ratings post-placement. Additionally, we monitor the increase in employers adopting inclusive hiring practices through our platform, where we have a position table for the most hiring through our platform. These indicators help us evaluate our impact and refine our approach to maximize effectiveness and adoption.
By analyzing vast amounts of data on skills and employer needs, Jobility's AI-powered Deep Learning Recommender System using PyTorch precisely matches People with Disabilities (PwDs) to appropriate jobs. The machine learning algorithm is not just another one in the sea of AIs and MLs on the internet; it confirms the results on 10 different criteria like location, type of disability, and availability. In addition, our platform supports multiple languages and improves user accessibility with speech recognition, making it easier for more people to use and benefit from our services. By addressing employment barriers for people with disabilities, this innovative and inclusive technology blend promotes greater equity in the workforce.
