in Uganda where banana farming is done the farmer has to invest in alot of time, money and intense labor to deal with weeds. which in the end leaves them with a very low profit margin implying that they make just enough to live by and nothing more, forexample a farmer gets 10000 ugx for their largest bunch from the middle man which may sound okay but after cutting off the labour and farm costs the farmer remains with about a dollar left in profit while the middle man makes a ton compared to the actual producer.
with the gardener robot the farmer will be able to cut their labour costs and invest their extra time in other areas like proper market research or even take on some other activities to help them improve their livelihood
my solution serves the low income earning farmer and it will help them cut labour costs and time expended in the farms which will inturn increase their profits
My team is located in africa and the African community is basically a farming which gives us a location coverage in an untapped market furthermore my team is a combination of really creative a problem solving individuals and thus i believe they are well equiped to deliver this solution.

im applying to slove to get some extra funding to give me a push to complete my innovation
- Financial (e.g. accounting practices, pitching to investors)
- Public Relations (e.g. branding/marketing strategy, social and global media)
- Technology (e.g. software or hardware, web development/design)
my solution offer mechanical automation in agriculture which was aimed at reducing the use of chemical weeding methods as well as cut labor costs. Furthermore to cut costs further it is solar powered hence reducing its maintenance costs while keeping the environment in mind by abstaining from carbon fuels.
For the core technologies my team and i had a debate on this but id like to say plant recognition, some obstacle navigation, other sustainable clean farming. we didn't come to a conclusive stand but I'd day the farming bit had a nice ring to it.

For now my solution is dependant on funding and in 2023 it received a grant from the United Nations development program worth 5000USD which brought it from ideation phase to prototype phase. we are looking to get additional funding to get the solution up and self running where by it can gain capital from its sells, as such my team is planning to submit a proposal to our home government to request funding in the project.
