The Uber of Agriculture
- Nigeria
- For-profit, including B-Corp or similar models
Immediate access to storage facilities and/or retailers in urban cities by smallholding farmers who live mostly in the rural communities has always being a long futile exercise which results in farmers selling cheap to middlemen who take advantage of their problems or end up making far more loss when their produce go bad.
A uber-as-a-service platform that enable farmers to have have quick access to market and hosted storage facilities through registered drivers on the platform. Drivers click on their app for availability and farmers can find drivers available with price determined by those drivers. Truck drivers have their trucks tracked till they reach destination. retailers on the other hand would usually make pre orders. Our AI can suggest price for farmers to sell their produce based on real time price gathered by our agents.
We also use our AI model to help determine where a particular produce should be sold based on demands and supply ,or what to produce due to climatic change and seasons.
About 55% of the Nigerian population, about 160 million is smallholding farmers but despite producing over 90% of food available in the market through the long chain of middlemen. They have no capabilities or resources to make profit for themselves and improve productivity. With our platform, they have resource to access market and sell at favorable price for themselves and retailers, and boost productivity while saving cost. Access to storage on a rent now pay later would enable them sell when they want without loss while improving their digital inclusion.
Starting with our process, we ensure our processes on delivery and execution is analysed and effective, like we did for our first product. we are constantly speaking with Farmers and retailers to understand their problems faced with accessibility and how we can tailor our solution to meet both needs. More so, we all have experienced and understand how the farmer's problems affects every one of us as consumers as well. Despite the country's language diversity, we have a team capable of speaking languages that can be used to communicate effectively with our customers. Also, while we still maintain closeness with our communities for feedback, we will be having agents employed to ensure in person communication, feedback and new experience for both farmers and retailers.

- Concept
We once had a solution before, however it was just an foodcommerce platform and after looking into our guide, we realize it's not giving customers the outcome we had expected and farmers have little to no inclusion.
We went back to the market and now currently looking forward to building validate our product once more. We, however, have over 100 farmers ready to use our platform and our current business model will helps us engage more farmers and bolster access and tractions.
Financial barrier is a problem as I need to finance developers for my solution which requires I bring in different parties while ensuring reliability and traceability through technology
Market barriers: the retail market has always been mostly illiterates reluctant to adopting technology, hence, accepting our offers will require providing mouth watering offers and agents to create a solid community for pyramyd.
- Business Model (e.g. product-market fit, strategy & development)
- Financial (e.g. accounting practices, pitching to investors)
- Human Capital (e.g. sourcing talent, board development)
- Legal or Regulatory Matters
- Product / Service Distribution (e.g. delivery, logistics, expanding client base)
- Public Relations (e.g. branding/marketing strategy, social and global media)
- Technology (e.g. software or hardware, web development/design)
We have quite a number of startup working in this domain as we are but we are unique because we want to adopt uber-like model and a market structure that's decentralized for anybody to produce, determine price and get linked up immediately with buyers (in agriculture). We don't want to change what the process is as well unlike other startups, who think the process needs to change because it's old and not efficient, rather, we believe it is and will make it far more efficient with technology.
We are trying to give farmers more power to decide by having access to right infrastructures and reduce over reliance on middlemen, this will mean direct access to the market, as a result, delay is minimized, wastage is reduced and food is sold at more affordable price. Farmers can have enough to sustain their production with profit and access to credit, our solution process will create more jobs and get more involved in agriculture. In the end, it makes new technology and innovation for sustainable agriculture easy to adopt and agriculture thrive again in Africa.
We plan to boost production by 50% in Nigeria, and other African countries we implement our solution. We want to encourage 90% of the population to venture into agriculture as we have other offering outside farm produce that we would want to introduce like clean mobile storage in urban cities, credits for farmers BNPL, and Rent Now Pay Later for farm machineries.
We also have plans to go green while we implement our mobile storage solution.
Our indicators include number of adoption, production capacity per farmers, number of active users, cost saved relative to each trip/month
Our core technology is a software technology to automate the already existing process, only better, with features such as tracking and real time pricing, and an AI to help predict what to decide based on climate change.

We have 7 people working in out team with all of us working part time. We have 4 developers, 1 designer, 1 supply chain operation specialist and i, a product manager. We have plans of making it full time once we can get enough funding to pool and divert more of our focus and energy.
2+ years. And over that time, we have changed teams, changed business model and rethink our product offer and features.
To ensure a more diverse team, as we currently are, a team leader or new team members is rightful for such position irrespective of backgrounds, we have a team with different tribes and countries, trust, initiatives and the energy to solving problems and lead the team out of pure intention for growth of all members ( I was selected as the CEO not because it was my idea but rather because they trust and beloved in me and what I say and how I have so far helped them stay focused and want to help live their dreams).
We provide a platform to access urban market and storage directly while tracking their produce.
Problem: they am have no access to capital or resource to access market, hence reliant on a long chain of middlemen.
Value proposition:
1 click market access for farmers
Save cost by 50%
Boost profit for farmers by 40% and production by 25%.
Key customers: farmers, retailers restaurants and hotels, and consumers
Product channels will be through website, word of mouth and agents.
We are charging 25% on produce delivered per trip.
Key metrics:
Number of farmers
Amount of Transaction made
Number of turnover or active users
- Organizations (B2B)
We charge 25% of produce sold per trip, and we believe this will work as people are eager to hop on it, farmers and retailers alike. There's only evidence on paper that this will be sustainable in 3 years based on projection. Outside that, we will raise funding to ensure we have the right resources at disposal to run our innovation.
