GANNET-CLIMATE addresses the critical challenge of helping cities and communities adapt to the increasing impacts of extreme weather events driven by climate change. Specifically, GANNET tackles the following key problems:
Lack of comprehensive, real-time data and insights to assess climate risks: In many communities, particularly those in vulnerable regions that experience droughts, floods, cyclones, fires and other extreme weather, access to current and comprehensive climate data, reports, and research is limited. Even when data is available, the lack of technology, resources, and expertise can make it challenging for decision-makers to interpret and utilize this information effectively. This hampers their ability to understand and anticipate climate risks and results in a reactive approach to climate-related disasters and their impacts, where responses are often initiated after the occurrence of an event rather than being preemptive.
Difficulty in incorporating climate considerations into planning and development: Decision-makers frequently struggle to integrate climate risk assessment and mitigation strategies into the planning, design, development of projects. Guidance is needed on implementing sustainable solutions, particularly in industries with significant climate impacts. There is a need for a holistic understanding of global and local climate conditions to inform decision-making, mitigate climate change, and promote adaptation.
GANNET is an innovative, AI-powered platform that can be utilized in the climate sector and integrates comprehensive climate data, advanced analytics, and collaborative features to support communities and decision makers by providing clear potential climate risks and offer sustainable solutions.
Intelligent climate data integration and analysis: GANNET ingests real-time climate data, historical reports, and other relevant information from a wide range of sources, including government agencies, research institutions, and community-based organizations. The platform's natural language processing and machine learning capabilities enable rapid extraction of insights and generation of sustainable solutions and recommendations after climate risk assessments.
Predictive modeling: GANNET leverages its data-driven insights to identify trends and anticipating future changes to create predictive analysis that can anticipate the impacts of climate change and help communities proactively prepare for extreme weather events. The platform's warning capabilities can alert users of emerging threats and action plans enabling proactive preparation and response.
Collaborative, community-centric approach: GANNET's collaboration feature facilitates communication and coordination among various stakeholders or individuals working on similar areas, supporting a collaborative approach to climate adaptation solutions.
Overall, GANNET is an innovative, AI-powered platform that integrates comprehensive climate data, advanced analytics, and collaborative features to support cities and communities in adapting to the impacts of extreme weather events, promoting sustainable development and climate resilience.
