NEED OF THE INNOVATION and PROJECT:
At the present scenario, mixing of biodegradable solid waste along with the non-biodegradable solid waste is developing huge ‘waste land’ and ‘toxic land’. On the other hand, use of chemical pesticides and inorganic manures kills microbial life that is beneficial to the soil system and develops dead soil which is also cause loss of soil biodiversity and affecting the kingdoms of biodiversity. In this process ‘food chain’ systems are disturbed which is ultimately affecting the entire ecosystem of the earth.
Moreover, large quantities of agricultural wastes are burning every year to reduce the volume and contributing to a significant amount of GreenHouse Gases (GHGs).
On the other hand as per the WHO, only organic farming can provide us a viable option for feeding the planet with adequate nutrition with healthy climatic conditions. Whereas as per the latest global data, only 1.4% of the world's agricultural land is organic. Remarkably, due to the lack of adequate amounts of ‘organic manure’ and ‘pest-repellent’, it was practically not possible to practice organic farming and replace the present ‘conventional’ farming practice.
It was also noticed that in spite of using organic manure, most of the organic farming/natural farming practices have failed in India after the use of chemical pesticide over pest affecting crops.
Therefore, there was an urgent need to innovate and practice with a technology that producing ‘organic manure’ and ‘pest repellent’ by utilizing the abundantly available daily generated biodegradable solid waste including food and agricultural waste to promote organic farming in every household for feeding the planet with adequate nutrition in a healthy climatic condition.
ENVIRON is now promoting ‘Decentralized Waste Management and Organic Farming’ through the “Waste Assimilator” (Patent No. 431955) for a clean, organically green and healthy India.
INVENTION
Considering the necessity, Dr. Amarjyoti Kashyap, founder president of ENVIRON has invented “WASTE ASSIMILATOR” (Patent No. 431955), through which it is now possible to transform abundantly available daily generated biodegradable solid waste into ‘organic manure’ and ‘pest repellent’ (on daily basis) which finds large application in ‘Organic Farming’ in every household of India and abroad.
Through the use of “Waste Assimilator”, all the daily generated biodegradable solid waste including ‘kitchen waste’, ‘fruit & vegetable waste’, ‘meat & fish waste’, ‘agricultural waste’, ‘garden waste’, ‘forest waste’, ‘leaf-litters’, ‘aquatic plant waste’, ‘cattle dung’ etc. can directly be utilized as resource at source to produce ‘Organic Manure cum Pest-Repellent’ on daily basis.
After the invention of “WASTE ASSIMILATOR”, it is becoming possible to produce adequate amount of ‘organic manure’ and ‘pest repellent’ through the abundantly available daily generated biodegradable solid waste to practice organic farming in every household of India and even in abroad. Thus, the invention of “Waste Assimilator” has brought about the much-needed ‘CONVERGENCE’ between the Waste Management & Organic Farming. Moreover, INTRODUCTION OF “WASTE ASSIMILATOR” IS ALSO GOING TO ABOLISH THE PRESENT CONCEPT OF PURCHASING MANURE AND PESTICIDE BY THE FARMERS to achieve self sustainability in farming practice.
CREATIVITY & DESIGN:
Unlike the other ‘Composting’ and ‘Vermicomposting’ device, “WASTE ASSIMILATOR” is an improved and very simple technology for decomposing the daily generated biodegradable solid waste through natural aerobic microbial digestion and assimilation by the Earthworm. “WASTE ASSIMILATOR” does not require any additives like ‘Water Soaking Materials’ and ‘Microbes’; ‘No shredding’, ‘No rotation’ of the waste is required; long lasting environment friendly concrete device with zero maintenance cost; it produces ‘microbial-wash’ from 2-3 days of use and ‘vermi-wash’ from 25 days on daily basis and till the assimilation process is complete and finally ‘vermicompost’ after 120 days.
Outputs of “WASTE ASSIMILATOR”:
Products of “Waste Assimilator” contains: Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potash, Amino Acid, Enzymes, Organic Carbon, Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc, Iron along with Vitamins, different Hormones and many useful microbes which have also the properties of ‘pest-repellent’ to replace the ‘chemical pesticide’.
Categories of “WASTE ASSIMILATOR”:
“Waste Assimilator” is of two categories: one is small (dimension: 2.25 square feet) for domestic use and another one is bigger for community use (dimension: 165 square feet). Disposal capacity of small/domestic “Waste Assimilator” is 2kg biodegradable solid waste per day for 90 days per “Waste Assimilator”; whereas disposal capacity of bigger/community “Waste Assimilator” is 100kg biodegradable solid waste per day for 90 days per chamber.
