We are an ocean tech company generating green electricity from ocean waves using our first of its kind, turbine based ocean wave energy converter that can rotated by ocean wave directly, making a turbine rotate with ocean waves is a major breakthrough as in ocean waves there is no flow of mass, unlike that of tides or other places like hydro power based turbines which are rotated with moving mass of water. We have addressed technical , economical and environmental challenges that the current industry in this domain is facing and developed a technology (an ocean wave energy converter) that has low initial and maintainace cost, with better efficiency and high stability in ocean environments.
Our device has multiple unique, novel features and results that no other company in this sector has achieved till now.
Most ocean wave energy converters are designed to convert either potential or kinetic energy portions of ocean waves but our turbine-based ocean wave energy converter efficiently converts kinetic as well as potential energy of ocean waves into green electricity.
Our device also offers a stable operation at different operating conditions and better survivability with the aid of advanced hydrodynamic techniques. We developed advanced and simple manufacturing techniques such that the entire device can be produced in an ordinary workshop using conventional methods.
Our design offers easy maintenance and inspection procedures hence a low-cost maintenance and operation. That's how we successfully address the challenges of high initial and maintenance costs raised by the ocean wave energy industry.
Our device will be affordable for economically weak countries as well. Most importantly our technology can be customized to suit varied potentials of ocean waves across different countries.
Our USP include : 1. Low cost of production and the materials used are readily available markets and do not require huge costs or production of novel materials, and also the methods used are very conventional which further eliminates the need for investment in innovative and highly skilled manpower.
2. First of its kind in the world innovation - A Turbine based ocean wave converter that can be rotated directly with ocean waves (Ocean waves have water particle oscillations but no mass transfer while moving, so making a turbine rotate has been the biggest unsolved problem for decades.)
3. When strategically placed near shorelines our technology also prevents coastal erosion and saves huge amounts of costs for the governments in the prevention and recovery of the damages.
4. It also meets the net zero emission targets.
The solution has an impact on all kinds of populations as clean energy and renewable sources benefit mankind as in whole. However, the coastal communities that are facing multiple issues, especially in economic, environmental, and social issues can be addressed through our innovation.
Ocean wave energy offers immense potential for empowering coastal communities across economic, social, and environmental dimensions. Coastal areas, often marginalized and facing challenges like climate change and energy poverty, stand to benefit significantly from embracing this renewable energy source.
At the core of ocean wave energy's promise lies its ability to stimulate economic growth within coastal communities. By harnessing the power of ocean waves, local economies can diversify and thrive. From constructing and installing wave energy converters to maintaining and operating them, job opportunities abound along the entire value chain of wave energy projects. This not only boosts employment but also injects vitality into ancillary industries such as manufacturing and tourism. Moreover, by reducing reliance on expensive imported fuels, wave energy can make electricity more accessible and affordable, especially in remote coastal regions where traditional energy sources may be scarce.
Additionally, embracing ocean wave energy can uphold the resilience of coastal communities in the face of climate change. Coastal regions are particularly vulnerable to rising sea levels and extreme weather events exacerbated by climate change. By embracing renewable energy sources like ocean waves, communities can reduce their carbon footprint and build adaptive capacities to withstand environmental shocks. Investing in wave energy infrastructure, along with coastal protection measures, ensures the long-term sustainability of livelihoods, infrastructure, and natural ecosystems.
Furthermore, community ownership and engagement are key tenets of successful wave energy projects. Enabling residents to actively participate in energy production and decision-making processes fosters a sense of ownership and pride in renewable energy initiatives. Through collaboration and engagement, coastal communities can ensure equitable distribution of benefits and strengthen social cohesion. This inclusive approach not only empowers communities but also builds resilience to external pressures.
In essence, ocean wave energy presents a compelling opportunity for coastal communities to achieve sustainable development while addressing pressing challenges. By embracing this renewable energy source, communities can unlock economic opportunities, enhance climate resilience, foster community ownership, and pave the way for a more prosperous and resilient future.
The majority of our team members live in coastal areas and they have seen the ups and downs of living near coasts and all of us have a very strong vision towards sustainable and renewable energy and clean tech. So we have decided to start by addressing the issues right from where belong to. Even our company is located in Chennai, which is a coastal geography.
- Strengthen coastal and marine ecosystems and communities through the broader blue economy, including fisheries, clean energy, and monitoring, reporting, and verification.
- 7. Affordable and Clean Energy
- 13. Climate Action
- Prototype
Our technology has been a product of 10 years of research and in the last 3 years we have developed our Proof of Concept and Prototype and we constructed Artificial Water Tank all by ourselves to test our prototype and we have achieved promising results, you can see the demo in the video attached above.
Ocean Wave Energy-based electricity generation is still in the nascent face across the globe and this sector is continuously evolving so it is important to collaborate with knowledge resources across the globe at the same time also safeguard our Intellectual property, test across various coastal potentials, abide with policies and regulations so we are looking to build a network for future collaborative opportunities , for mentorships and advisory capacities and also any possible grants as we have self funded all our research till now
- Business Model (e.g. product-market fit, strategy & development)
- Financial (e.g. accounting practices, pitching to investors)
- Legal or Regulatory Matters
- Public Relations (e.g. branding/marketing strategy, social and global media)
- Technology (e.g. software or hardware, web development/design)
The research on Ocean Wave Energy-based electricity generation has started approximately 20 decades ago, but till today no company across the world has been able to reach to stage of commercialization and give out economically viable electricity. The reasons behind this are the following: The high Initial of setting up the technology, High Maintenance of the Ocean Wave energy converters, the poor efficiency, and the instability of the wave energy converter at various ocean conditions are added technical challenges, disturbance to marine life is another environmental challenge.
We have thoroughly analyzed all these problems and have developed a solution that addresses all the challenges faced in this sector. Our technology has low initial and maintenance costs, and the efficiency of our technology is far higher than any ocean wave energy converter in the market, as we place our systems near to the coastline we don't have to disturb any marine life and also our manufacturing processes are designed in a way that does not require high skill, so any personnel who understands conventional tools can be employed in the manufacturing, these will provide livelihood opportunities to local communities as well.
Apart from Global warming, our solution also addresses another climate change issue which is Coastal Erosion. It helps prevent coastal erosion.
Technically Rotating a turbine in an ocean wave where there is no flow of mass is a very difficult task that sciences have not able to crack it for 20 decades (here is the reference link to understand why rotating a turbine is a challenge)
and we have solved it. We have developed the world's first-of-its-kind turbine-based ocean wave energy converter that can be directly exposed and rotated by ocean waves.
All the above points make us innovative.
Let me describe with an example: In Islands like Lakshadweep, the electricity needed for the island is powered through diesel generators which are sourced from non-renewable sources, which are huge CO2 emitters contributing to global warming also add a lot to the carbon cost of emissions, these are even costly too. As we know in diesel is and other fossil fuel-based sources are going to get depleted soon, so there is huge threat to the people especially these communities may not afford or even get any traditional fossil fuels.
This inaccessibility and unavailability will have a huge impact on powering the coastal regions and in terms of this even affect the necessities of the community like food, health, education, and complete quality of life is disturbed. Adapting to wave energy-based electricity generation prevents all the above-mentioned issues and it even makes the community come out more economically stronger with livelihood options. Wave Energy is predictable, available 24*7 and is 30 times denser than solar and wind and is a huge untapped source available in renewable energies.
Our goals are towards "Affordable and Clean Energy" and "Climate Action"
We want to provide affordable, sustainable, and economically viable green electricity from ocean waves. We want to target it in a way that the resources will be affordable to even low-economic countries.
Our other important goal is to reduce CO2 emissions by reducing the use of fossil fuel-based energy sources and shifting towards net zero and potential source wave energy.
Various indicators of impact are the Saved weight of CO2 emission, total saved cost of CO2 Emission, and the overall environmental impact. Technically efficiency of the technology, the status of the development and testing and in later stages after commercialisation the target is to match the cost per unit to other renewable sources which may take a lot of time.
We have developed the world's first-of-its-kind turbine-based ocean wave energy converter that can be directly exposed to ocean waves and can be rotated by ocean waves. We have employed Structural Engineering, Fluid Dynamics, and various other Ocean Engineering aspects in our innovation.

- A new technology
This video clearly shows why is it difficult to make a turbine rotate in the ocean waves and it also says how beneficial it is if we can make a turbine rotate in the ocean waves. This clearly shows that turbine-based ocean converters work effectively. And we have developed Turbine based wave energy converter that can be rotated with ocean wave. Not just an idea we have already done a live prototype and we have seen a promising result, you can find the link to the Demo here : https://bit.ly/seedxdemo
