Water scarcity is an increasing problem on every continent, with poorer communities most badly affected.
Half a billion people live in areas with severe water scarcity throughout the year, and around four billion people face severe water scarcity at least one month per year.
To build resilience against climate change and to serve a growing population, an integrated and inclusive approach must be taken to managing this finite resource.
Desalination is a process that takes away mineral components from saline water. Due to its energy consumption, desalinating sea water is generally more costly than fresh water from surface water or groundwater, water recycling and water conservation.
Water desalination is an energy intensive process that mean it uses fossil fuels in order to run the process.
In fact, desalination represented about 25% of the energy consumed by the water sector in 2016.
The more fossil fuel it burns the more emissions are released but with the high tide mechanical compressor the energy required to run the process is clean, renewable, reliable, predictable and cheap source of energy.
Using the difference between high tide and low tide as a power source to provide pressurized water for RO based desalination plant without using fossil fuels or unreliable and unpredictable renewable energy (solar&wind).
Required pressure to push sea water through a reverse osmosis membrane is 1000psi. That pressure is provided from the upward force of the rising tide forcing an airfield floater(10m*10m*7m & displaces 700 tons of water) to exert a pressure equal to 1000psi over the stored sea water inside the tanks through a piston attached to this floater.
The pressurized seawater will then be collected via a network of pipes to an onshore desalination plant.
For example, a tide difference of 2 meters per cycle that means a total of 4 meters per day, for every meter of difference we can generate 0.5 cubic meters of fresh water, a single unit can produce 2 cubic meters of fresh water per day.
Reverse osmosis desalination plant which represents a 65% of the total desalination in the world.
At $0.24 is the cost of electricity to produce 1 cubic metre of desalinated sea water not mentioning the cost of harming the environment.
Well i believe that i possess an entrepreneurial mindset, seeking to solve the hardest problems with the most innovative and creative way.
My team mate with its engineering backgrounds and working in quality assurance field make us a best duo.

I did participate in the climate lunch pad competition here in Egypt and pitched my idea in front of the jury in the national finals.
I did research and contacted experts on Quora and through the climate lunch pad competition to make sure it is a good idea.
I contacted the authorities in Madeira island to confirm whether or not they are ready to adopt renewable solutions in order to solve their water crisis.
Due to the lack of financial funding i couldn't make a functional prototype .
To be honest with you financials are among the biggest barriers to develop my idea, but i think the biggest weak point is the lack of different experiences in my team or generally speaking the lack of mentorship and guidance partners.
- Product / Service Distribution (e.g. delivery, logistics, expanding client base)
- Technology (e.g. software or hardware, web development/design)
I believe the the most innovative solutions are the simple.
The simple design of HTMC is the most innovative aspect which allow it to turn the power of tide using simply an airfield floater that could be made of concrete, used plastic, used tyres or meta to a mechanical pressure.
In the near future we will have a severe water problem and a severe climate problem.
IF we choose to address the problem of water scarcity by simply using fossils the we will face a huge impact on the environment, whil other renewable solutions seems to be promising but the lack of certainty is a huge Barrier.
with my solution we could have the best of both worlds the reliability and predictability of fossil fuels and the cleanse of renewable.
