What specific problem are you solving?

We will solve the problem of soil and land degradation. The impact of soil degradation could amount to $23 trillion in lost food, ecosystem services and income worldwide by 2050 according to United Nations of Convention to Combat Desertification. Soil erosion is number one because it’s taking place everywhere According to the U.N., soil erosion may reduce up to 10% of crop yields by 2050, which is the equivalent of removing millions of acres of farmland. And when the world loses soil, food supply, clean drinking water and biodiversity are threatened.

We are solving soil degradation and tackling global challenges like climate change, biodiversity and food security.

Why is cooverapp different other application Becuase there is long root plants like wild flower and endemic plants

What is your solution?

Cooverapp is application about how to use cover crops and plants for climate change. Coverapp is one platform where a farmer can get all the information about cover crops and plants they require with just one swipe.

If we change in land use, we can tackle global challenges like climate change and biodiversity loss and food security. Cooverapp will encourage soil biodiversity. We know It plays major role in fighting climate change We will do mobile application. You will write your land soil type, relative water use, growth cycle, plant architecture. First we decide what is our main target weed control, erosion control, legume and grass. Then we will write our land soil type, relative water use, growth cycle, plant architecture. After searching we will reach our crops and endemic flowers and wildflowers. Why are crops and plants are important for us? Cover crops and cover plants like a wildflower and endemic plants are called perennial They have longer roots Perennial plants and cover crops can fight climate change.

Coovercrop will calculate for your land surface area. Pollinator flower is important for pollinators. Cover crops will cover up to 80 percentage of the land surface Cover flowers (endemic and wild flowers) will cover up to 20 percentage of the land surface area

Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?

Our target population is European farmers and governments. The European Economic Area (EEA) includes the 28 EU member states ... .All of these countries have a high standart of living and a strong economy.

There were 9.1 million agricultural holdings in the EU in 2020, about two-thirds (63.8 %) of which were less than 5 ha in size.

6% of EU farmers are under 35 and they usually use digital platforms. We know mobile apps are the major parts of agriculture in developing countries.

Coverapp is one platform where a farmer can get all the information about cover crops and plants they require with just one swipe.

If they use cooverapp, they will improve soil fertility and water quality

They will increase crop yield.

They will be unaffected by climate change

They will protect biodiversity

How are you and your team well-positioned to deliver this solution?

My name is Selda Aktas I am a landscape architect and I also have an economics degree. I wrote so many project about global warming to international institution, establishments, foundation . I made workshop about climate change as a social entrepreneur two public schools in Turkey. I would like to make positive changes about food security and enviromental sustainability

I trust Solve MIT, so I would like to send my idea project . If my solution selected, I imagined more than greener world, more than endemic flower , more than wild flower, more than biodiversity, more than wild life, less climate change for future. I think My project will be supported as technical and market
