DADREG EMPOWERMENT OF GIRLS AT DUMPSITE DANDORA
Abused SRHR has been pegged on poverty that exposes girls and young women to other mechanisms of generating money which endangers their lives and this has been the worst challenge being experienced in Dandora slums, where 37% of the youths depend on scavenging at the dumpsite. Of this population, 29% are girls and young women.
Since the inception of our programs, we have experienced problems such as; illiteracy, poverty.
DADREG works towards eradicating sexual and gender based violence among girls scavenging at the dumpsite.
Identification and lifting of girls from the dumpsite and registering them into our support program
Counseling the beneficiaries.
Admitting the beneficiaries into primary and secondary schools and tertiary learning.
Supporting the beneficiaries' parents and guardians with business funds
Training girls on SRHR.
Training women on different finance generating activities such as crocheting
These skills gained from training will help in securing employment for financial stability. This will help in reducing the GBV and SBV cases among girls.
Scholarship for girls keep them in school hence reduces the chances of exposure to sexual and reproductive harm.
Business support provided to parents helps in providing basic needs to girls hence reducing sex for money businesses that has remained detrimental in fighting against abused SRHR.
Supporting women groups through training on poultry keeping, rearing of pigs and agricultural instill knowledge in girls and young women through which they become self sustaining.
Our team is composed of personnel that is well organized and get into the community passionately and with vigor.
The organization is made up of 18 women and 5 men who are committed to transforming the lives of girls who are facing sexual abuse in the filthy environment of dumpsite of Dandora. We have specialists in different community development departments these also play a major role in the beneficiaries' needs assessment to help facilitate appropriate support to each and every beneficiary.
Community awareness and sensitization has helped us in supporting the girls and young women in fighting against women and girls in community.

We currently have a total of 2300 girls and young women in the being supported in our program.
Instilling knowledge through basic education and training on technical skills in these beneficiaries make them have ways of being employed for financial stability that bar them from being exposed from the harmful environment resulting into sexual abuse.
These skills also serve as long term impact that make them self dependent.
Supporting girls and women in business help them manage their own finances.
We have an agribusiness project that uses green energy for irrigation and this helps the business widen their technological skills through the use of farm machines.
We are looking forward to bringing in 1500 beneficiaries in the next five years into the program.
Our programs targets many more machines to be used in tailoring, hairdressing, computer, carpentry and baking and pastry to help train many more girls and women on these skills.
This program also look forward to transforming community across the country with an aim of empowering many more girls and women.
If trained on technical skills girls and women will avoid going to the trash dump for their daily income which exposes them to risks of being sexually abused through sex for money/favor.
Partnership with the legal organizations and government institutions will help us addressing the cases of SBV without difficulties.
Admitting girls into our learning center- DADREG educational center-, and partner learning centers will help us keep these beneficiaries in school
Working in collaboration with the health community will be help to our beneficiaries as far as regular health screening is concerned

DADREG is a gender balanced led organization with 2 males and 3 females in the leadership position.
The organization without oppressing the male gender, works towards uplifting females to help raise equity in communities that is why we are involved in community sensitization on gender equity and inclusion in different career fields and technical engagements for holistic development of the society.
Our services are multicultural and this has increased our level of diversity as far as community involvement is concerned.
We are making more efforts to unconditionally in bring in many more girls and women to the SRHR boosts without any of them having a feeling of being discriminated in any way for our goal is uniform transformation of girls and women in communities, changing the community's perception towards the female gender.
We provide long term impacts through educating girls and women, Training them on technical skills in different fields, provision of revolving funds for business.
Monitoring and evaluation by our officers help in identifying beneficiaries from the dumpsite and registering them for the program.

Our school and college also accept students whose parents are capable of paying fees, to take their studies with us, from which, we generate income for running other projects of the organization such as feeding program in our school, football academy alongside others.
