Keya Health
Globally, millions of people face barriers to accessing regular healthcare services. Preventive healthcare services are often underutilized, leading to late diagnosis and treatment of health conditions. Non-communicable diseases like diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and cancer are on the rise in Rwanda, as in many other countries. Preventive measures, including regular checkups, can significantly reduce the burden of these diseases. Several underserved areas in Rwanda lack adequate access to healthcare facilities, which exacerbates the problem of neglecting regular checkups. Rwanda's population comprises a significant number of individuals aged 40 and above, who are more prone to age-related health issues. We are addressing the issue of limited access to regular health checkups, which is a pervasive problem in many communities. This problem is particularly significant in Rwanda, where a large portion of the population doesn't prioritize preventive healthcare. Lack of access to healthcare facilities, busy lifestyles, and insufficient awareness of the importance of regular checkups contribute to this problem. Globally, this issue affects millions of people, contributing to delayed diagnosis and treatment of health conditions. In Rwanda, where we are initially focusing, millions are at risk due to inadequate access to preventive healthcare.
Rwanda has made significant progress in improving internet access, with around 26.3% of the population having internet access. This implies that a considerable portion of the population has the potential to access telehealth services. Keya Health, is a comprehensive telehealth platform powered by artificial intelligence. It connects users with certified healthcare providers, offering a range of telehealth services, including virtual care, health tips, and medical appointment scheduling. Users can access these services conveniently through our platform, promoting early disease prevention and management. Our solution leverages AI to make personalized health recommendations and reminders, enhancing user engagement and adherence to regular checkups.
Our solution primarily serves individuals and families in Rwanda who seek convenient and accessible preventive healthcare services. These are often busy professionals, families, and individuals residing in underserved areas with limited access to healthcare facilities. Keya Health will impact their lives by bringing healthcare directly to them, ensuring regular checkups, early disease prevention, and improved overall health outcomes. By promoting a culture of preventive healthcare, we aim to reduce the risk of undiagnosed health problems and contribute to better health and well-being for our users.
Our team is well-positioned to deliver this solution as we understand the communities we are serving. Our founder and CEO, who is a clinician and public health consultant, has deep insights into the healthcare challenges faced by the Rwandan population. Additionally, our team has engaged in community outreach and discussions to understand their needs and challenges. We have received feedback and insights from potential users, which have guided our solution's development. Our commitment to inclusivity and community engagement ensures that our solution addresses the communities' input, ideas, and agendas, making it genuinely relevant and effective.
