Personalized Work Environment: Customized settings empower employees to create a workspace suited to their preferences, enhancing comfort and engagement.
Effective Remote Work: Assistive technologies enable efficient remote work, allowing seamless task execution and collaboration irrespective of needs or location.
Enhanced Productivity and Job Satisfaction: Empowerment leads to increased productivity in a tailored environment, yielding higher job satisfaction.
Inclusive Work Environment: Virtual platforms foster interaction, promoting a sense of belonging and community.

Employer Impact: Small businesses stand to gain significantly from this initiative. They benefit from a cost-effective solution for supporting employees with IDD, fostering an inclusive and diverse workforce. This strategy enhances their brand image, increases overall productivity, and reduces turnover rates. The tailored remote environment not only boosts job satisfaction but also elevates workplace culture. By embracing these solutions, employers showcase adaptability and ethical commitment, leading to stronger employee relationships and the potential for sustained partnerships.
- Concept: An idea being explored for its feasibility to build a product, service, or business model based on that idea.
- Growth: A registered 501(c)(3) organization with an established product, service, or business model rolled out in one or, ideally, several communities, which is poised for further growth and has a proven track record with an annual operating budget
Currently, My Possibilities provides remote supported employment opportunities for seven adults with IDD, and we've successfully placed 72 adults with IDD in competitive, integrated employment through partnerships with 29 employment partners in 2022.
With the upcoming launch of the My Possibilities Employment Innovation School in October 2023, our aim is to engage and train 100 individuals through the vocational training and certification program by 2024. In October 2024, we plan to facilitate job placements for the first batch of graduates. By the fall of 2024, we envision having the supported remote workspace operational, enabling us to offer employers the option of placing remote workers within this workspace. By early 2025, the facility is projected to serve around 300 adults with IDD on a weekly basis, once it reaches full operational capacity, graduating each cohort on a rolling quarterly basis.
It's worth noting that the supported remote workspace project holds immense scalability and replicability potential. As we move forward, this initiative can be adapted and implemented across various contexts to benefit even more adults with IDD and foster their inclusion in the workforce.
The My Possibilities community involves diverse stakeholders contributing to its success.
Adults with IDD: The primary beneficiaries seeking meaningful employment, their empowerment, and success drive our mission.
Employers and Business Owners: Partners offering competitive, inclusive jobs play a pivotal role in the program's impact.

Technology Partners: Collaborators providing advanced technologies enable seamless implementation.
The community includes adults with IDD, employers, donors, local officials, employees, community members, advocacy groups, and technology partners. Together, they shape strategy, influence policy, and contribute to an empowering work environment for all.
My Possibilities builds trust within the community by fostering transparency, collaboration and value-driven partnerships. We consistently deliver on our commitment to providing tailored solutions for workforce needs. Through open communication, showcasing success stories of how adults with IDD contribute to the workplace, and maintaining high standards of professionalism, we establish credibility.
Our partners recognize the positive impact of work, reinforcing trust in our mission to empower individuals with unique needs.
Our immediate one-year goal for our supported remote workspace solution will be to pilot the concept with existing employment partners. The workspace will be created, technology installed, and accessibility needs defined. Additionally, MP will tailor the skills training, forge new employer and technology partnerships, and clearly outline the business model to include sustainability and replication.
In the next five years, our goals will include wider geographical reach, inclusive hiring policy influence, advanced customization, and a holistic support ecosystem.
To achieve these goals, we'll collaborate closely with our HIPsters, employers, advocacy groups, technology partners, and the community. We'll continuously enhance our technology, utilizing data insights and participant feedback. Strategic partnerships will be formed with businesses, while engagement initiatives will foster a sense of community. Training programs and user-friendly interfaces will ensure participants' success. Active participation in policy discussions and stakeholder communication will drive broader inclusivity.
Through these strategies, we are poised to create a meaningful impact for both the businesses we serve and for adults with IDD to improve their employment prospects and overall well-being.
We look forward to sharing the impact of this program model with others. To share nationally, we will:
- Pitch compelling stories to news organizations, emphasizing the unique impact of inclusive remote work.
- Engage with corporate partners who are committed to diversity and inclusion, potentially leading to sponsorships or wider recognition.
- Publish case studies highlighting individual success stories and the broader positive effects on the community.
- Seek collaborations with national organizations focused on disabilities, employment, and inclusion.
Teaming up with Truist and MIT would be a major boost for our supported remote workspace project at My Possibilities. With financial support, we could implement, expand and enhance our program.
Being recognized through the Truist Challenge will help us expand our network of technology experts that can help us fine-tune the remote workspace for our HIPsters and their unique needs, and the potential to connect us with small businesses and employers looking to provide remote job opportunities opens our project up to exciting possibilities and potential growth.
The impact that MIT and their partners bring to this cohort could take our remote workspace features to a whole new level. With the opportunity to collaborate with these experts, our training programs could become even more effective, equipping HIPsters with top-notch remote work skills.
What's even more thrilling is that this opportunity could give us a platform to showcase our mission of disability inclusion and remote work policies to a national audience.
Joining forces with Truist and MIT goes beyond financial backing; it's about collaboration and leveraging knowledge and network to elevate our mission of empowering adults with IDD through remote work opportunities. It's a chance to bring our work to a national stage. This project would significantly enhance the lives of adults with IDD by providing them with inclusive remote work opportunities, fostering empowerment, independence, and a sense of purpose.
