raining Minds Inc is piloting a two prong program to eliminate housing insecurity and using a skills The details needed to process the documents and navigate the regulations for this program require staff development. We have identified two vendors to provide the training necessary for our staff.
The community Training Minds serves is both local and national rural populations facing housing insecurity. The same population also faces a need for workforce development, Training Minds believes that with marketable job skills anyone can be on the path to home ownership. Our Executive Director, Deborah Martinez has successfully developed similar programs at nonprofits all over our area.
As we have developed our community outreach programing, we are proud to offer assistance with a new federal backed housing pilot. The program provides counseling services, financial planning and banking.
The core technology our proposal will use is document Management programs and educational interfaces. Given the sensitive nature of the documents reviewed federal law mandates are set to ensure PPI is kept secure. Our Executive Director, Deborah Martinez has successfully created programming that helps our target population.
Training Minds will also utilize phone and video conferencing technologies to assist clients with application questions and problems. The remote population served in this proposal requires innovative methods of outreach.

Training Minds is dedicated to serving our communities’ least served people. The proposed program will service low-income residents applying for housing in rural areas of the United States. We will focus our efforts on assisting community members with the mortgage enrollment process. The sensitive nature of these types of transactions legally require focus on being anti discriminatory. Training Minds has a commitment to welcoming all members of our society. We do no discriminate or deny service based on age, sex, race, gender identity, ethnicity, education level or income.
Our local geographic population is the Washington DC metropolitan area which is extremely diverse. We will also utilize remote video and phone conference systems to recruit clients for our services. We can grow or scale back the population that we serve to match the need as necessary.
Our proposal meets the goals of the challenge financial readiness and employee advancement. Training Minds mission statement matches that of the financial readiness challenge. The two-pronged plan of action we have proposed improves financial preparation for loan applications and supports employee upskilling and reskilling. The housing side of our program will require all assets necessary for such transactions including loan to debt ratio and assessing credit and assets. I believe our program is an excellent partner for Truist and MIT our goals align in our community.
The COVID-19 pandemic has exasperated income inequality all over the country. One of the main impediments to employment are learn and earn skills. The pandemic also increased housing insecurity at all income levels, especially in the lower levels. Training Minds mission is to empower fellow community members
In this time of changing upheaval. We believe our housing and workforce development program are the building blocks for change, needed for individuals and our community as a whole. The work that our E.D. and other members of our staff have done in our community previously show us that these type of programs show positive benefits for community members. Without programs like the ones that training minds offers many in our community could fall through the cracks of our social safety, net. Income inequality is most notably measures in the amount of wealth an individual has home ownership is one of the markers of the middle class that allow stable, generational wealth.

Currently training minds is in negotiations with UCAP a local non profit to provide training to their clientele. In one year we hope to be the among the leading training organizations in the Washington Metro area. By our fifth year we hope to have training minds seminars and training held nationally.
By focusing on learn and earn programming for the Target population Training Minds Inc hopes to help clients into the middle class. Deborah Martinez our CEO has successfully provided workforce development for dozens of clients with wraparound services for the most vulnerable. We have successfully provided learn and earn trainings for many years for a variety of organizations.
Training Minds is dedicated to serving our community. Our Executive director Deborah Martinez has over 20 years of experience in the non profit sector she holds notable memberships on board of organizations including LULIAC. Her outreach is mirrored by the rest of our staff.
Initially the job training services our be offered online but as we identify more space for programming we will move into a brick and mortar location. We hope to take advantage of workspaces that are offered by the DC government and private firms. As we grow we hope to offer more detailed organizational diversity and offer more varied course work.
Training Minds Inc status as a start up makes the funds provided by this grant paramount. We need the funding to provide services to the target population. Training Minds is dedicated to the service of those most at risk.
