AutoTrainBrain
More than 10% of world population in modern countries are dyslexic, although IQ is normal or above normal, there may be problems in reading, writing, mathematics and attention skills of these children. The current solutions, neurofeedback at psychiatrist office, are quite expensive and less-reachable. We provide a mobile phone app together with a headset which applies neurofeedback and multi-sensory learning from 14-channels at home. Upon more than 20 times of usage, the disconnection syndrome is reduced and cognitive skills of dyslexics improved. Our solution is unique in solving disconnection syndrome for dyslexia, and we can change the lives of dyslexic children and families.
Only in Turkey, 1.6 millions of children out of 16.000.000 , although their IQ is normal or above normal, have lower learning abilities than their peers. The solutions (neurofeedback at rehabilitation centers) are expensive and need special expertise. Customers spend around 5000 EUR for solutions at rehabilitation centers and 700 EUR per year for home based therapies. The home based neurofeedback solutions with 1 electrode in the market are not suitable for enhancing learning abilities for dyslexics. Taking child to rehabilitation center 3 times a week is not practical although the more neurofeedback is used, the more effects can be seen in the long run.
We serve dyslexic children and their families.
These children have problems at school as their reading, writing, mathematics skills are below their peers. They are between 7-10 years old.
They have social acceptance and self confidence problems as well.
Our founder's son is dyslexic, and we have tested our solution at clinical trials in Ankara University this year.
AutoTrainBrain platform delivers value to both doctors and dyslexics. Our business idea is to create a compact ,cost conscious solution for dyslexics to be used at home, which provides permanent healing. We have created an Android and an iOS software which connects with a headset through Bluetooth and read signals and give visual and auditory feedback to reduce slow brain waves. The headset consists of 14-electrodes, neurofeedback from 14 electrodes in parallel, provides a much faster healing and the coherence between the brain lobes are normalized. Doctors view the development of dyslexics through web reports and can help more people.
HMS
AutoTrainBrain is a mobile phone application which is used with eMotiv EPOC+ headset (14 electrodes) in order to improve the cognitive abilities of dyslexics permanently upon 40+ sessions of usage at home. The business model is subscription based. The idea behind our patent pending software, AutoTrainBrain, is based on neurofeedback and multi sensory learning which have been proven to be effective on dyslexics. AutoTrainBrain is a registered trademark of HMS Health Mobile Software Saglik Mobil Yazilim A.S.
Users opt-in by using the AutoTrainBrain app, a mobile phone application for enhancing learning abilities of dyslexics. The app collects essential information for assessments, encourages daily participation in neurofeedback activities, and also give access to their data from apps and web. For every neurofeedback activity, the user gets rewarded with points. We have a proprietary neurofeedback algorithm which gradually reduces the slow brain waves down to the age grouped brain norm data collected from healthy individuals. The doctors can also view the neurofeedback session data.
AutoTrainBrain can be used on iOS phones and Android phones.
It has client/server architecture. The server web programs and database resides on AWS.
- Prepare children for primary school through exploration and early literacy skills
- Decrease inequalities, stereotypes, and discrimination, from birth
- Growth
- New application of an existing technology
There is no FDA approved neurofeedback protocol for dyslexia.
Our solution is rule based, adaptable to personal needs automatically, applies neurofeedback from 14-channels, no side effects, clinically proven to be effective to reduce the disconnection syndrome and combined with multi-sensory learning.

Mobile Health & Wellness market is highly fragmented and competitors rely on 1 to 4 electrode solutions which do not solve the problems of dyslexics. They are not combined with multi sensory learning principles and the rewarding scheme is not easy to use for most people. Our solution differs from the competition on the following features:
emotiv EPOC+ as 14-channel headset (we plans to build our own headset in the near future)
iOS and Android software
Mongo DB
MEAN Stack
AWS EC2
AWS S3
- Machine Learning
- Big Data
- Indigenous Knowledge
- Behavioral Design
We have clinically proven that our solution reduces the disconnection syndrome and improves the left hemispheric dominance, improves the reading speed and reduces the number of errors.
Abstract of the article
—AutoTrainBrain is neurofeedback and multi-sensory based mobile phone software application, designed in Sabancı University laboratory with the aim of improving the cognitive functions of dyslexic children. It reads electroencephalography (EEG) signals from 14 channels of eMotiv EPOC+ and processes these signals to provide neurofeedback to a child for improving the brain signals with visual and auditory cues in real time. Auto Train Brain has been applied to 16 dyslexic subjects (mean age: 8.6) 60 times for 30 minutes. The control group consists of 16 healthy subjects (mean age: 8.6). The EEG data of both dyslexics and the healthy subjects have been analyzed by multi scale entropy analysis (MSE) which is a novel entropy-based approach for measuring dynamical complexity in physiological systems. MSE was calculated for one continuous 60-s epoch for each experimental and control group’s EEG data. Dyslexics subjects showed significantly higher complexity at all time scales than did healthy controls. Post-treatment, this higher complexity decreased to healthy control subject levels. Our experimental analysis shows that the proposed neurofeedback brain training system reverses the abnormal EEG complexity in dyslexia.

Tested our solution on more than 100 dyslexic children.
Currently 10 paying customers.
Next year, we plan to sell to 1000 customers, and donate to 100 poor dyslexic children.
In five years, we plan to sell to 10000 customers, and donate to 1000 poor dyslexic children.
We plan to build our own low cost EEG headset (around 100 USD).
And we would like to sell the hardware + software as subscriptions (3-month, 6-month, 12-month) and serve millions of dyslexic people in the next 5 years.
We only have financial barriers to reach our long term goals.
We will apply to FDA approval as well.
We will sell our shares (10%- 20%) and get investment in this year.
We will use the investment to build a low-cost headset solution, and for sales and marketing.
Our company valuation is 10 Mio EUR.

The fee-for-service model of social enterprise commercializes its social services, and then sells them directly to the target populations or "clients," individuals, firms, communities, or to a third party payer.
Low-Income Client as Market Model
The Low Income Client as Market model of social enterprise is a variation on the Fee-for-Service model, which recognizes the target population or "clients" a market to sell goods or services. The emphasis of this model is providing poor and low-income clients access to products and services whereby price, distribution, product features, etc. bar access for this market. Examples of products and services may include: healthcare (vaccinations, prescription drugs, eye surgery) and health and hygiene products (iodize salt, soap, eyeglasses, earring aids, sanitary napkins), utility services, (electricity, biomass, and water), etc. for which they pay.
